Extra's: The only real extra on the DVD was a bonus scene from Fuck My Ass N Make Me Cum 2 between Cameron and Mr. Pete. It was a good scene but I prefer my extras to be unique to the production I'm reviewing in order to give full credit. In this case, I'll give a few points for effort but not as many if the scene had been specially filmed for the DVD. The other extras were a photogallery and some trailers, not a whole lot these days.

Audio/Video Quality: The picture was presented in the usual 1.33:1 ratio full frame color. The lighting wasn't great and there were some compression artifacts but aside from some variations in the colors and grain, I didn't think it was too bad. Many movies shot in the Czech Republic look worse so Dillion's first attempt as director was better than most. The audio was presented in the usual stereo English with minimal separation between the channels and a droning soundtrack during parts of the action. Personally, in gonzo porn I prefer no music at all (Anabolic is kind enough to offer a no music audio track on their releases, why can't everyone be so kind?) since it typically sounds wrong at best and interferes with the heat at the worst but at least it wasn't too loud.

Body of Review: As more performers turn to directing, the porn world is suddenly faced with a dilemma; too many unskilled directors entering the market as a condition for making movies. Keeping in mind the marginal directing talent most of the established directors have to begin with, you can see where this could cause a problem. The latest performer-turned-director is Dillion Day (his name has alternative spellings). Along with his wife, Dasha, he retired from porn a year or so ago (they were at a local strip club before doing so) and I was surprised to see this release, Ass Crackin', especially since she starred in its first scene. The two had some solid sex skills in front of the camera but that doesn't always translate well into a behind the camera role, if you catch my drift. Putting on my most objective attitude, I watched the movie with a hope that he would fare better than most directors in the business and, for the most part at least, saw that he had plenty of rough edges and just maybe, a glimmer of talent. Here's a breakdown of the scenes by cast:

Scene One: Dasha, the former Vivid contract star, was first up. Her real life husband, Dillion, has long been one of the best partners she's ever had on screen and this scene was no exception. For those that have never seen this blonde, lean, anal queen, she is featured on the front DVD cover. As a point of interest, a lot of fanfare was made when the couple retired from porn a year or so back, claiming they wanted to live off their mountain of saved money and live a simple life. I guess reality caught up with them but that's okay since I always appreciated their work. This scene was different for them in that there were none of Vivid's rules to hold them back from doing what they wished (she made feature porn, not the gonzo that has become so popular) so I expected a lot from the scene. In part, the energy level and chemistry was as high as ever, if not higher but the scene also seemed to lack something too. Maybe it was the way the make up wasn't as well done as before or maybe it was just the harsh lights of gonzo didn't favor her attractive face (the wrinkle lines made me wonder if she got enough sleep) but overall, it made me long for her earlier work at Vivid. In any case, she did some enthusiastic oral and straight with a heaping helping of anal to boot. There was some "squirting" (looked like urinating to me) but the spark just wasn't there.

Scene Two: Kathy, an attractive blonde in the European mode, took on both Dillion and George in another pretty decent scene. She did more of the ATM (ass to mouth) and other circus act sex but a lot of it seemed mechanical, lacking the kind of chemistry many fans want to see in porn. For the most part, she knew how to milk a nut and her skills were not in question but much like a hooker trying to get you off quickly before moving onto her next customer, I didn't really feel the need to breed after watching it. Fans will like the extended DP for its sheer extreme factor but otherwise, you'll have to be easily satisfied to enjoy it much.

Scene Three: Liliane, a brown-haired gal with blonde streaks really caught my eye for her attractive face and lean body. I laughed when she said she was "18, but I turn 19 today", wondering if the language barrier wasn't all too present here. Her performance was solid throughout the scene as she did it all (oral, straight, anal, DP) with a smile. While I didn't think she was anything younger than mid-20's, I liked her act a lot (as did Dillion and Mick by the way they hammered away at her). In terms of energy and enthusiasm, I think she performed as well as any of the cast, making it a good scene.

Scene Four: Janet, a lean brunette wearing a skin-tight white dress, took on George as Dillion directed them (vocally, I might add). The thing I liked about her performance was how she didn't vocalize so much as gave a hard breathing performance. Her gasps for air seemed more realistic than the usual "oh, oh, oh, give it to me baby" style screwing I'm used to seeing out of this type of show. She also sweat a lot during the scene, giving it the feel of real sex where the couple got hot, nasty and sweaty, something that worked for me. They did the usual types of sex acts and in the same positions but the scene gave more of a real feel for a heated encounter and I liked it.

Scene Five: Melissa, another cutie with light hair, wore a tank top as Dillion interviewed her. Once she started going at it, I noticed almost immediately that she took a slower approach to the sex acts, preferring a sultry method of milking his nuts than the usual "finish him off quickly and move on to the next guy" style so favored by the Europeans. It made for a nice change and while she did get pretty fast on the hip grinding during the actual screwing, the more relaxed method seemed more fun to me. They did the same oral, straight and anal with a pop shot to the face and there was some small amount of chemistry to go with the heat.

Scene Six: Sarah, a brunette with a lean body and nice smile, started off the final scene wearing a blue outfit that complimented her body. This was an appropriate choice since her partner was Mick Blue and he fit her pretty well himself. Of all the scenes of the movie, this one struck me most as a filler scene since she really seemed to be marking time as she went through all the usual moves. Mick didn't seem to mind as he exploded more than I've ever seen him (with the possible exception of his scene with Katja Kassin in Big Wet Asses 1) but sex is always better as a participative sport so your mileage will vary accordingly. In her defense, her ability to take him inside her ass was pretty solid but that's as much mechanical conditioning as anything else.

Bonus Scene from Fuck My Ass N Make Me Cum 2: 4/7/2004: Cameron, a cute blonde, and Mr. Pete engaged in all sorts of sexual activities in this scene from the listed movie. It had a lot of oral, straight and anal sex along with some solid chemistry between the performers. The scene lasted about 26 minutes and was one of the best on the DVD.

Summary: I thought the cast and performances were worth a rating of Recommended even though there were some obvious highs and lows to contend with. The technical matters were fairly decent and the cast was usually swell but it often appeared rushed and that took away some of the heat from the scenes. If Dillion is to survive in an already crowded market, I think he'll need to do more than try and "out extreme" everyone else. He'll also need to polish up his technical directing skills in order to compete with an ever-growing list of technically proficient directors that know their stuff. For the most part though, he showed some measure of talent towards casting and his editor worked well with what he was given so check it out if you get the chance.
