Extra's: The only real extra on the basic version of the DVD release (that'd be the one I received) was a 17 minute long Behind the Scenes featurette. I liked it a lot but wish Private would get out of the habit of releasing a limited version along with a cool, feature packed version (by releasing one version, they can put all the goodies on it and save money). There was also a set of trailers and a double sided DVD cover for those who care. The special edition has bonus scenes, production notes, and lots of other things but I can't comment on them since I didn't get that one.

Audio/Video Quality: The picture was presented in 1.85:1 ratio non-anamorphic widescreen color, as originally shot. This is unusual in porn since virtually all porn shot in the last 20 years has been in full frame though I'd have appreciated it a lot more if it didn't look so grainy. I believe the movie was shot on film and the DVD transfer process probably hammered the picture quality tremendously since there were compression artifacts, problems with color saturation, lighting issues and things you simply don't routinely see on a Private movie these days (perhaps this is why the BTS feature by Jimmy Can labeled the movie as Xavi Dominguez's last movie for Private). The audio was another surprise as it presented the movie in a 5.1 English stereo track that was also fatally flawed with a terrible dub. There was some good separation and dynamic range but unlike a few of Private's other releases in the last few years, the dubbing seemed to revert to the older style the company used, making it weaker than average too.

Body of Review: Private Pictures is one of my favorite foreign companies in the porn world due to the way they combine hot, beautiful women, good budgets, and a variety of sex acts in order to provide the consumer with plenty of fuck for the buck. One of the trends the company has had in recent years is making porn versions of mainstream hits, including such titles as Private Gladiator, a take off of Gladiator, and Rock Hard; a porn version of the Rocky flick. Their latest release along these lines is Sex Angels, an homage to the television series (and recent movies), Charlie's Angels. In this version, Wally's Angels are seeking to stop a bad guy from blowing up the world by using their assets more effectively than the mainstream characters ever did. There were plenty of references to the recent movies and fans might find a few moments of humor as the cast (or at least the dub actors) fumbled through their lines, some of which made me smile, however briefly. Had the picture and audio been better, I could've overlooked the many lame aspects of the movie but even the sex was a mixed bag here; something surprising from a company as well received as Private. In any case, if you're still interested in the movie, here's a breakdown of the scenes by cast, noting that a lot of anal took place:

Scene One: Sandy, the hot blond in the middle of the front DVD cover, was the first one to screw for the camera. Her scene was in bed with a couple of guys and had oral, straight and anal sex with minimal heat and chemistry. She looked great but the mechanical nature of the sex made me wonder who was busier watching the clock, Sandy of the director. With so much footage, I was hopeful that the sex would improve so I kept watching as the movie unfolded.

Scene Two: Mya, the lean brunette on the left hand side of the front DVD cover, was up next in a scene that took place in the locker room of a dojo where the enemy was supposed to be hiding out, with two guys, Ramon and Andrea (yup, it's a guy's name in Europe). She provided some solid oral fun before alternating between them in her pussy and ass with a DP for kicks near the end. This scene was markedly better due to the chemistry and heat generated between the cast; proving to me that my patience would be rewarded. While Sandy looked better than Mya, Mya was easily a better fuck and I really liked this scene. Whew!

Scene Three: Jennifer, the dark-haired cutie with a fleshy ass found on the right hand side of the front DVD cover, the ever-beautiful Sandy and Silvia, an average looking gal that played the dominant type (and the bad guy), started off the next scene by making out in the backroom of a lesbian bar. At first, I thought it would be lame since the action stopped before it really began but it quickly turned warmer when they moved to a more secure room for some licking AND strap on dildo play. Silvia gave the gals some plastic in their pussies and asses but the sex was kind of weak with none of the gals shining this time.

Scene Four: Silvia, this time trying to show her dominance over a couple of guys, Max and Bryan, ordered them around before sucking them off. The guys then took turns screwing her in the pussy and ass, culminating with a DP. The energy level dropped back down a bunch for this scene and the chemistry was simply not there as the trio proceeded to perform in a mechanical manner for the camera. This has long been a problem with Private's movies and I should've known it would be hit or miss here too.

Scene Five: Sandy, Jennifer, Toni, and Tony had a scene at the massage tables of the club. This was the longest and strongest scene of the bunch; with Sandy finally showing her beautiful face was not her only means of contributing to the show. Both the gals provided some energy this time and the chemistry wasn't bad either as the foursome originally split into two couples and then got into one big heap of flesh in the darkened room. There was oral, straight, anal, and DP action taking place here with the gals getting some licks in on each other too. Yum!

Scene Six: Mya, still looking hot and fuckable, took on Robby in the ending scene of the movie. They fought in the warehouse over her two friends (both tied up to a chair) and it quickly devolved into a boning session that wasn't all that great. Both knew how to perform but it seemed like they were on auto-pilot for most of the scene, showing little spark as they did the deed. It had all the elements you'd expect but it didn't click and that made the scene lame.

Summary: This wasn't the worst porno I've watched in my life but it sure had the deck stacked against it from the beginning. The technical problems combined with the often lame sex scenes made me wonder what happened (maybe the extended extras would yield a clue) to the movie. I'm going to rate it as a Skip It since only two scenes were good and even they were marred by technical issues. I hope Private keeps on trying to improve their features but they might want to address the basics first and leave the fancy stuff alone until this takes place. It's a shame too since the cast seemed to have some potential, even if it wasn't lived up to, and were all attractive to some extent (except maybe Silvia). Oh well, even the greats screw up once in a while.
