Extra's: One of the things that I've come to really appreciate from the Shane's World series has been the number of decent extras some of the DVDs have included. This one is no different by providing an 8.5 minute batch of deleted footage (called Behind the Scenes on the menu), a 9.5 minute featurette starring Natasha from her live webcast at the Shane's World website, a 15.5 minute long feature starring the gorgeous Flick Shagwell at home where she showed her home off before entertaining the camera, some cast biographies, a photogallery and a double sided DVD cover. In all, the extra stuff really added some replay value to the DVD and I hope other companies take note of this type of addition.

Audio/Video Quality: The picture was presented in the usual 1.33:1 ratio full frame color, as originally shot. Like other volumes in the series, the grain and compression artifacts were not to my liking but far from enough to change my mind about the sexual heat of the scenes (either way). The camera action and editing could be called into question at times but as often as not, some of you will enjoy what others hate with me sitting somewhere in the middle. I like a mix of close ups and mid shots in order to see what pleases me and I'd be lying if I said I've seen most directors do a whole lot better (although, I should point out that there was no credited director so it could've been a number of likely candidates this time). The audio was presented in the usual 2.0 stereo English but, as with previous volumes in the series, I didn't notice much, if any, separation between the channels and the dynamic range was limited. You could usually hear what was said but don't expect miracles.

Body of Review: Shane's World is enjoying something of a renaissance these days with Digital Sin releasing most of the older volumes of the main and sister series on DVD. The basic premise was akin to a reality television show with some good sex scenes, always trying to be playful rather than the typical gonzo rough sex that is gaining in popularity these days. If you enjoy seeing women slapped around or choked, this is where you should stop reading in order to focus your quest elsewhere. Like Shane's World 34, the latest release I'm reviewing, Shane's World 33: Down For Whatever! had a lot to like. The gals were fresher than average and Calli Cox led the proceedings nicely, even enjoying her last scene. The DVD centered around partying and taking advantage of the media blitz volume 32 had (where they were in trouble concerning taping on college campuses-how come I never got that one?). The thematic issues aside, the overall quality of this volume were mixed but I admit to enjoying what took place so if you're still interested, here's a breakdown of the scenes by cast, noting that the sex was tamer than average:

Scene One: Alexis, a moderately attractive blonde with some of her original baby fat on her, started off the scene with Tony after the two left a party sponsored by Shane's World. The sex was sort of in-between the usual professional "sex for money" and the "amateur trying to strut her stuff" style this series which is a good thing because few performers can compete with the upper echelon of the porn world and the production values of most pro-am stuff stink, making this a nice mix for fans to enjoy without feeling forced. In any case, the sex was oral and straight with some solid energy and even a bit of chemistry before the ending facial.

Scene Two: Natasha, a gal with a gal-next-door face and body, took care of new porn stud Texxx after Calli dropped him off for her administrations (telling her friend that she liked how he got rock hard). I kind of wanted her to stay and make it a trio but she was probably still reeling for his work in a previous volume (like they say, "EVERYTHING is bigger in Texas", the guy's state of origin) so I can't blame her for letting them screw in peace. I didn't find her overly attractive and her energy level was well below average for the series so whatever talent he may have been able to display was lost on her here. In her defense, the oral was alright and she was able to handle him sexually but there was no spark between them.

Scene Three: Boo, in her very first scene and looking somewhat rough around the edges (I think she looks like a babe these days), wore glasses and sat on the bed as she waited to do her pal on the bed. The oral between them was actually pretty solid; a sign of things to come for her, and the straight sex showed she was quite skilled in the art of milking a load from a guy's dick. Fans of hers will have to see this scene since it really shows how her early scenes were better than most with plenty to like as she rode him hard before putting him away wet.

Scene Four: Fiona, yet another run of the mill gal with more aptitude than appeal, was up next in a scene designed to take advantage of a drinking game with Clark. The man of steel seemed happy to get some from her but he wasn't exactly the top of the line stud either so the results were mixed. I think she showed some passion in her scene with enough skill that I'd look to see if she cleaned up well but this particular scene only had a few highlights with the rest being filler all the way. She didn't swallow but she did take a facial better than average as he popped in her mouth with her smiling.

Scene Five: Calli, Flick, Ashley, Annabelle, Kurt, and Texxx, finished up the show with an extended orgy scene. This being Calli's last scene (sniff) for now, I think it was important to fans like myself to check out, but the others were given more spotlight time to bathe in the glow of the friendly and spirited sexual antics. Flick looked gorgeous and the others were easy on the eyes too but none of them possessed Calli's way with the flesh sword. This is the difference between a great looking hotty that doesn't do enough and an average gal that rocks your world. If given the choice between the two, the looker is good as a trophy but it's the sexual kitten that you want to keep. In any case, they played an adult version of spin the bottle combined with truth or dare to pass the time. I'm not going to give you a laundry list of sex acts but suffice it to say that they all did a great job here with plenty of warmth and the chemistry shared between bonded friends.

Summary: I think the series has a lot to offer casual porn fans and those looking to explore something different than the cheesy gonzo most companies promote these days. The sex was mixed enough to keep it from looking staged and the gals were often the type you'd actually have a chance with in a singles bar at closing time, lending a reality to the events as portrayed here. I'm going to rate this one as a Rent It although a few of the scenes were very well done, nearly enough to cover the others on their own. I hope Calli takes on the role as lead in future volumes rather than stick with doing publicity work for the company but either way, the spirit of Shane's original releases was caught just often enough here that I couldn't pass it up when given a chance to review it.
