Extra's: For the purposes of this review, I won't count all the extra bonus scenes as extras so much as continuations of the feature itself (this is a compilation after all) but it should be noted that there were a ton of extra scenes included here, making this the best Private compilation to showcase Jane Darling. The other extras included a Secret Interview with the star lasting 6.5 minutes long, an additional 3 minute of interview of her by Franco Trentalance (on top of the footage used to put the scenes together), an extensive filmography, her Private film shoots, trailers, a quiz that rewards you with a bonus lesbian scene (oiled up and ready to go) and some striptease footage if you answer questions correctly, a double sided DVD cover, a whole bunch of production notes, and some hidden Easter Eggs that are really tough to find. In short, both discs were full of material and any fan of hers will find enough stuff to justify getting this two disc set regardless of whether they have her other releases.

Audio/Video Quality: The picture was presented in the usual 1.33:1 ratio full frame color that many of the scenes were shot in but a number of them were presented in widescreen 1.78:1 too (it varied from scene to scene). For the most part, the scenes looked pretty good, even the older ones, with some grain and minor visual defects that would bug a critic such as myself. The good news is that when the scenes were good, you'd miss any problems and if they were bad, you'd skip them and not care. Otherwise, some of the directors employed visual effects that were painful to watch (slow motion, overdone, is lame). The audio was presented with the usual choices Private offers with the default being stereo English with some dubbing. The moans and groans were okay and the music ranged from droning to not bad, depending on the scene, and I think it wouldn't bother most seasoned porn viewers all that much at the worst.

Body of Review: In the last few years, Private has really shown the world that it can make a number of types of porn in order to address a variety of markets, from the hardcore fuck fests to the features with all the bells and whistles to the compilations using scenes taken from their extensive library of smut. One of my favorite series has been the Private Life series where the goal is to truly showcase a single performer, using two discs worth of scenes, interviews, and material not available anywhere else, to provide some top notch entertainment for fans. I've enjoyed Jessica May, Jodie Moore, Rita Faltoyano, Kate More and even the talented Michelle Wild, in their volumes of the series and while I wish I could say I've seen all of them; I can't. The latest release in the series is The Private Life Of Jane Darling, focusing on the lean hotty that so many fans have enjoyed as she made scenes for Private, Evil Angel, and other top gonzo companies, making me wish this was a true compilation of scenes from some of her other companies too since she has done so much more than just Private releases. This compilation was very good though and fans will want to check it out for all it has to offer them, so here's a breakdown of the material by scene:

Scene One: Bacchanal: D-Jean Yves LeCastel: 10/2001: Jane, in her first scene for Private, took care of David in a scenario that had both of them working in an orchard for a vineyard. She took to stomping grapes (for you foot fetish fans) and he stripped down to give her a good licking after he completely drenched her in grapes and juice (for your food fetish fans). The sex was dirty, fresh and fun to watch although she didn't look as picture perfect as her later scenes. There was anal sex of course as well as some decent oral with lots of energy and chemistry.

Scene Two: Sunrise: D-Alessandro Del Mar: 4/2002: Jane, Sandra, Daniella, Sebastian, Joachim, and Manuel had a group grope by an outdoor swimming pool during the afternoon. They didn't have an orgy so much as pair up and do one another as couples, a disappointment for me, but I have to admit that Jane looked much more professional this time (make up and the glamour look that is common on porn these days). This could be a good or bad thing depending on your tastes but it was fun to watch.

Scene Three: Snowsluts: D-Gazzman: 3/2003 to 4/2003: Jane, Lea, Micky, and Ramon were up next in this tribute to snow sports. The sex started out on the deck of a nice chalet in a very cold looking climate as the foursome got into one another quite nicely, initially as couples but later as a mini-orgy. They took the action inside and fucked like bunnies with an emphasis on anal sex in this fair scene. Lea has looked much better elsewhere but neither of them looked bad in this fairly warm scene.

Scene Four: More Than She Expected!: D-Tony De Sergio & Steve Hooper: 3/2003: Jane, Patricia, and Tony were up next in a scene that also took place in a snowy climate. Initially, Jane and Tony were screwing on the snow filled mountain when they were joined by Patricia for a little ménage a trios action that ended with some lesbian playfulness that employed some sex toys. Yum!

Scene Five: Victoria's Wet Secrets: D-Kovi: 4/2003: Jane, Ronita, Lucy, Barbara, Maya, Kirsty, Micky, Renato, Lauro, and Choky were up next in a large orgy scene that really didn't give Jane a lot of time to enjoy the spotlight. The location was a small home gym and there wasn't a lot of time wasted when the group simply took after one another in the small room. The cast looked good and the sex was what you'd expect with a lot of oral and anal between the vaginal boning. I saw little chemistry but there was a lot of energy to make up for it so you'll probably enjoy the scene if you like the cast, especially Jane.

Scene Six: House Of The She-Wolves: D-Susi Medusa Gottardi: 1/2004: Jane, George, and Franco had a scene where she played a maid and they cleaned her pipes (as well as her cleaning theirs of course). The sex was frantic and energetic, making for some hot times and if you like anal antics, you'll really like her here.

Scene Seven: Hot Property: D-Gazzman: 10/5/2003: As I said when I first reviewed the scene: "Jane, one of the most attractive blondes in porn, and Lea, an equally attractive gal, had a scene in a courtyard after effeminate George offered them a chance at some action. Both of these gals are in the top group of performers these days and their sexual abilities are well known for providing the kind of heat that makes men smile. They did the usual oral, straight, anal action here (not in that order though) and both gals did some taste testing of his penis as he dipped it in their friend. Fans of gaping action will appreciate this one too since there was some of that going on but the energy levels were very high and the chemistry just as good, making it a winner of a scene."

Disc Two: Bonus Scenes and Extras:

Scene Eight: Private Reality 6: Relax Club: D-Tom Herold: 11/2001: Jane, looking more mature than in the other scenes, had a scene with George at a spa where she was the client and he serviced her needs. The sex was straightforward but lacking any passion or heat so it was a by the numbers type of deal. On the bright side, it was also short in length so you won't miss much.

Scene Nine: Anal Agency: D-Jean Yves Lecastel: 7/2002: Jane, back to looking very attractive and youthful, had an outdoor scene with Juliano on a lawn chair. The sex was again kind of lacking at times but she did warm up after a while and the motion in her ocean rocked once that took place.

Scene Ten: Vaporous Waters: D-Gazzman: 3/2003 to 4/2003: Jane, Tina, and Steve had the next scene at what appeared to be an exclusive spa (again). The ladies warmed up by masturbating opposite one another and then did some lesbian action to get even better. Once they were dripping wet, they attacked Steve orally and allowed him to do as he wanted with their hot bodies, making it a pretty good scene in most ways. Gazzman's strength is the way he allows a scene to develop naturally without forcing it too much, giving it a kind of curb appeal that was lacking in several of the other scenes.

Scene Eleven: The Road To Success: D-Andrew Youngman & John Walton: 4/2003: Jane, Clark, and Thomas had the next trio (Private likes having three people together for some reason) of sexual antics. Initially, they drove through a small town and ended up in the bed of a medium sized house. The sex was often mechanical as the group went through the paces almost on autopilot but every once in a while, you could see the spark of passion rear its ugly head (kidding). In any case, there was a lot of oral, anal and a DP but the scene was far too short to allow for much growth in terms of desire or chemistry.

Scene Twelve: Snowsluts: Sex In The Swimming Pool: D-Gazzman: 3/2003 to 4/2003: Jane, Tina, and Sandra had a smoking hot lesbian scene that was far too short by a swimming pool inside a building. The gals licked, rubbed and used toys on one another to get off while the guys watched them. If the scene had lasted thirty minutes, I'd have been even happier (it was that good).

Scene Thirteen: Hot Property: D-Gazzman: 10/5/2003: "Jane and Angelica, another looker, had a scene with Denis in an atrium area by the mansion. He brought out a vibrator and got some oral with a titty fuck as the gals seemed to compete with each other to milk his nuts. Jane was the better at screwing and Angelica was the oral queen (with ATM a specialty) but the scene was hit or miss with me, perhaps losing something in the editing room. The anal sex was the best here and overall it was pretty good but not the best scene of the movie."

Scene Fourteen: Victoria's Wet Secrets: D-Kovi: 4/2003: Jane and Maya had a scene where they oiled one another up in a most pleasing manner before having hot, passionate, monkey love lesbian sex. I think it was well worth taking the pop quiz to access it (although if you use your computer, you can skip the quiz). Whew!

Scene Fifteen: Boss Of Your Mind (exclusive scene): D-Little Al: 3/2004: Jane and Andrea, playing a secretary and her boss, had a scene straight out of a Penthouse letter on a desk. He allowed her to masturbate before bringing her a few large dildos in order to warm herself up but he soon joined her for all the usual action. I think she did one of her best scenes here and looked fittingly attractive as the usually staid worker bee. Yum!

Summary: I thought there was enough solid material to give this a rating of Recommended with a few weaker scenes holding it back. One of the problems that Private will have as the series continues is that they are running out of performers that have had extensively worked for them, limiting the number of choices for these compilations. I like Jane Darling and think some of her best work took place after Private but this is a good start to check out the blonde Czech with large breasts if you've fallen for her (heck, look at the DVD cover and tell me she isn't a hotty). Anyway, the two disc set was well worth the dough since it had so much fuck for the buck and fans will be pleased by much of it.
