Extra's: The best extra by far was the 29 minute long lesbian orgy described below. It was something of a class reunion of a bunch of gals from earlier episodes of the series, most of whom have made it pretty big by now (or are just taking off in terms of popularity). The other extras included a 6 minute Behind the Scenes feature by Stevie, a biography of Clive McLean, a weak slide show, trailers, and a cast listing that helped make this review very easy to write in terms of who's who.

Audio/Video Quality: The picture was presented in the usual 1.33:1 ratio full frame color, as originally shot. I know the series has had some serious ups and downs in this regard but I thought the overall quality of this one showed some marked improvement with no compression artifacts, little pattern noise, and decent lighting almost the entire time. A few of the camera angles weren't particularly flattering to some of the gals but it appeared as though more care than usual was taken here and I applaud it wholeheartedly. The audio was presented in the same stereo English it has long been recorded in. The music track, when one was playing, wasn't too bad although I'd have preferred it be edited out more often than not due to the generic nature of the tunes played. The vocals were a touch hollow in a few scenes but they aren't a major factor in the series since moans and groans have long been the focal point of the series.

Body of Review: The porn world is very different than the reality that most of us live on a day to day basis. For one thing, porn frequently seems far more suited for the disposable nature of the performers who often make a handful of movies and disappear back to wherever they came from. For another thing, few series ever make it beyond a handful of volumes before fading away into the sunset. Consumers seem to want a flavor of the month type of performer more often than not and a new concept at every turn so few companies continue to make the same series for very long. One series that bucks this trend is Hustler's Barely Legal series. The focus of the show is not the now-common circus act sex but in showing young gals who don't have a lot of experience in front of the camera, having fairly tame sex acts for your viewing pleasure. If you're looking for this type of action, Barely Legal #50 is going to make you happy since it was one of the best volumes in this long-running series. Hustler pulled out all stops this time to provide a lot of fuck for the buck with a great bonus scene by some of the top talent in the jizz bizz to go along with some good scenes in the feature itself too. If you want to see why Howard Stern has been proven wrong once again (he once ragged on the series for showing women he thought were older than the volume number in his typically ill-informed manner), read the following breakdown of the scenes, noting that condoms weren't used and one scene had some solid anal action:

Scene One: Getting Randi: Randi, the very lean brunette on the upper left hand side of the front DVD cover, was up first in a scene with Randy, one of the most amusing porn studs I've ever watched (typically in a comedy by Wicked Pictures though). She played the daughter of his friend who turned 18 and seduced him; a common enough fantasy for older men, if not younger women. They both gave the other some oral loving and then they screwed in a fairly straightforward manner with only the littlest bit of energy and no chemistry. I think she looked in her late teens here so if that's enough for you to enjoy the scene, good for you.

Scene Two: Salon Seduction: Smokie, the cover cutie located in the second spot from the top on the left hand side of the front DVD cover, put her lean body to work on Sasha after he attempted to get his hair taken care of in her workplace, a salon. She stayed late and her date blew her off so she decided to get something special as a tip from her customer. The two then did the same type of oral and straight sex the last couple did although they seemed more in tune with one another, elevating the heat somewhat. She looked barely legal in terms of age and if her performance gave me that impression too (that she was inexperienced), all the better for the premise. It still wasn't up to the kind of heat I desire in a scene but it was a lot closer.

Scene Three: Poolside Play: Kayden, the cute blonde on the lower left hand side of the front DVD cover, was up next in a scene with Sergio. I like blondes and she appeared to like sex so it seemed like a match made in Heaven. She started off the scene by enjoying a nice outdoor pool with a bit of solo action until he caught her and joined in. Her oral skills were slightly advanced for her years and she did seem more into the pussy pumping action than the other gals, making me realize that each scene got a bit warmer as the DVD progressed (was it a conscious decision to do this?). In any case, while I'd have liked to see her with a couple more pounds on her thin frame, fans of the series will recognize that she was looking the part really nicely here.

Scene Four: Seamstress Screw: Vanilla, a gal with a body that was anything but vanilla, can be seen on the second spot from the bottom of the left hand side of the front DVD cover. Her action was with Steve after she tried to fix his zipper. Her oral was a bit more sensual than the others, as if she was holding back somewhat, and the actual sex was pretty solid. She showed some actual heat with an energetic performance and this made me enjoy the scene even more than the last one, continuing the trend the scenes had started. With such a positive trend going on, I could barely wait for the next scene to take place.

Scene Five: Skyline Spunking: Britney, the hotty featured on the front DVD cover (my experience is that companies always try to put their biggest asset on the front cover with the biggest picture), was up next in a rare treat for the Barely Legal series; she took on two guys, Joey and Dale, in a scene that included anal sex with a DP (double penetration). There wasn't as much oral sex here as in the other scenes but she could definitely play the skin flute nicely and the rest of the scene was darned warm too. It seemed to me that she really wanted to be making the scene, not just collecting a paycheck, and this made it the best scene of the movie to this point (the only other scene was a bonus scene so I had mixed feelings about how to count it).

Bonus Scene: Belladonna, Monica, Cytherea, Kimberly, Alexis, Swan, Audrey, and Kayla, had a great lesbian orgy that lasted almost a half hour long. There was a lot of licking, rubbing, sucking and toy play with plenty of anal action going on to accentuate the party-like atmosphere of the scene. Suffice it to say, with a cast like this, there was a lot of squirting going on as well as plenty of actual female orgasms taking place. Talk about chemistry and heat! Whew!

Summary: The final orgy alone was enough to elevate the rating to a Highly Recommended but there was a lot of solid action taking place outside of it too. The settings were nice, the women all looked the part they were playing, and the action generally good or better so it's not like I'm throwing a bone to Clive here. I haven't seen the entire series and recognize that there have been plenty of hits as well as misses over the years but if the renewed attempt to make the series follow the formula by keeping true to the concept will be kept in the future, I think a lot of consumers are going to be happy for at least another 50 volumes.
