Extra's: There really wasn't much worth writing about this time; 19 minutes of trailers (mostly older releases), 3 biographies, a photo gallery, and a "hot shot" button (allows direct access to cum shots in the movie) were all that were present here.

Audio/Video Quality: The picture was presented in the same old 1.33:1 ratio full frame color that most porn is made in (maintaining the original aspect ratio). The good news is that the lighting was generally well done, providing different types for each artistic scene, and above average for the director compared to some of his more recent work. The colors and flesh tones were accurate and the use of shadows handled moderately well as they added some sexual tension to a few scenes. I didn't see any compression artifacts or much video noise and the cast were all enhanced by the way the movie was recorded. The audio was presented in stereo English with minimal separation, limited dynamic range, and a weird mix of music and vocals but I generally liked it enough to leave my stereo turned off in order to hear what was said.

Body of Review: Revisiting older movies can be a chore when you come to realize that titles you really liked in the past have now fallen by the wayside as bits of fluff far beneath current standards. There are a number of movies that stand the test of time but like all things, when the newness factor wears off, older titles seem somehow lesser by comparison. Such is the case for a little science fiction porn known as Blue Matrix. The movie centered on a science fiction theme that someone experiencing a great orgasm would disappear into another dimension; the Blue Matrix. The story was a combination takeoff on the mainstream hit, The
Matrix, the television series, The X Files, and a few other shows. The movie had two investigators, Chennin and Cheyenne, looking into the matter of the disappearance of people, only to follow them when things got a bit too heated. The movie included straight, oral, hand jobs, masturbation, strap on's, lesbian, threesomes, rimming, and anal for those who care about laundry lists. Jill Kelly was seemingly the one in charge of the Blue Matrix and we luckily got to see her at various points throughout the movie before she has the final sex scene. There were a total of 8 sex scenes which range from mildly warm to very hot. If this interests you at all, read the brief breakdowns of the scenes as described here:

Scene One: The first scene was between Salena and Billy on a couch. Initially, she was masturbating and then he joins her. They had a solid chemistry between them and it showed. Salena had such a good time that she vanished into the other dimension at the end of their scene. A lot of problems would be solved if this happened in real life; my luck would be that the sex was so bad that they'd vanish by walking out the front door.

Scene Two: The second scene was between Ginger and Jack. This scene wasn't as warm as the previous scene and part of that can be traced back to Jack's many jailhouse tattoos. He looked like a walking billboard and it detracted from the scene; Ginger certainly deserved better. You may also notice the camera going slightly out of
Focus (I did) which would not be as noticeable if the action was hotter.

Scene Three: The third scene was between Alexandra and Ian with Kelly watching them. She let Ian lick her breasts a bit but otherwise stayed out of the action. Alexandra does anal in this scene and is very hot. It was hot enough that I almost vanished just watching it.

Scene Four: The next scene was with the fetching Tina. She had a threesome with Herschel and Evan. You may be disappointed to learn that while she looks better than most gals in their late thirties she only blew the two and then jacked them off. I really wanted more of her and this was perhaps the biggest letdown of the movie for me. When Evan vanished, I was starting to hope Nick vanished as well for teasing us with Tina and not delivering the goods.

Scene Five: The fifth scene starts with Vivian masturbating while Chennin and Cheyenne watched. Vivian was then joined by Dave and they screwed in several positions before having anal sex. In the end, he vanished and she complained about not going with him to the Blue Matrix universe. She really was hot and I can see why he made it.

Scene Six: The sixth scene was with Taylor and Salena in the Blue Matrix dimension. Salena was hot in the first scene and she was hot here too. My minor complaint with this warmish scene is that Taylor's hairstyle is ugly. She needed to let down her hair as the Betty Boop look didn't work for her. Regardless, I found myself watching this scene a few times and wished it were twice as long.

Scene Seven: The seventh scene was between our two investigators, Chennin and Cheyenne. They enjoyed each other and end it all in an anal climax. Both of them disappeared; obviously showing us that they had as much fun filming the scene as you will watching it.

Scene Eight: The last scene was what a lot of people were waiting for. It had the featured star-Jill Kelly along with Evan and Alec. It was as well paced as the other scenes and clearly a winner. I can see why Jill was so popular at the time this was made years ago.

Summary: The movie combined some decent elements and was a lot of fun to watch when it first came out. Even today it has some merit but aside from the price dropping a bit, the movie seemed dated in large part. It had a plot and the acting, while nothing brilliant, was at least as good as any Keanu Reeves feature film. While its effects were not as good as many more recent porn features, the sex kind of made up for it. That said, the movie had some good looking women, the plot didn't get in the way of the pretty warm sex, and the technical quality was slightly above average. I liked the outfits and the style of the production enough that I wanted a sequel made although that never took place. Most of my gripes are minor in nature regarding this one. I know that Tina had a following and her fans may be disappointed that her scene was so tame; especially with her looking so good for her age. The extras could've been more extensive and at least included a more thorough biography section and Behind the Scenes featurette but I'm still of the mind to give this DVD a rating of Rent It, for all its limitations.

This Don Houston "retro-review" was written long ago before the so-called Professor of Porn had much experience writing reviews. Since that time, he has found Adam & Eve to have a lot of good releases and seen more porn than almost anyone reviewing on the internet. Keep in mind that his comments accurately reflected his fresh viewpoint of the time he first saw the movie.
