Extra's: I liked the 10.5 minute Behind the Scenes feature as well as the 11 minutes of interviews with the gals by Meg Ryden. Each allowed the gals to discuss their scenes and a bit about their backgrounds, which is always kind of cool. There was also a photogallery and some trailers but the extra footage was far better in terms of quality.

Audio/Video Quality: Babes Illustrated 14 was presented in the usual 1.33:1 ratio full frame color it was shot in by Ann Marie and her crew. The colors were pretty good but the focus seemed slightly off much of the time and the lighting varied enough that some grain became apparent at times. I didn't see any compression artifacts and the bit rate was okay so I didn't expect many problems but overall, it only looked a bit above average. The audio was presented in the usual stereo English but aside from the lack of separation between the channels and the limited dynamic range, it was very generic too. The mix between the vocals and the music wasn't terrible but it lacked any real quality so I was left with some very generic production values.

Body of Review: I've long enjoyed lesbian scenes in my porn and it takes a whole lot to make me want to skip such scenes in my daily dose of smut. I know a lot of others out there like seeing Lesbians in action too but the quality of movies devoted exclusively to gal on gal action varies tremendously these days. The latest such release is a little DVD by Metro's contract performer/director, Ann Marie, called Babes Illustrated 14: Going South. The movie had a flimsy plot about a sex therapist played by Ann that hit on her clients and liked women almost as much as I do. If you like lesbian action, this wasn't a bad movie to watch, although it wasn't great by any means. Here's a breakdown of the scenes by cast and action, noting that the scenes were very similar to one another:

Scene One: Jennifer, the very attractive Latina that has been very busy this year (located on the left side of the front DVD cover wearing a blue bikini), and established porn performer Felecia (who was old enough to be Jennifer's mom), had a scene together on a bed. They licked, rubbed, kissed, and otherwise played well together, even using glass dildos from Phallix (Ann Marie is their contract gal too), to get off. I never got the impression that Felecia was marking time but Jennifer, as hot as she looked, wasn't as heated as usual this time. Felecia took the dildo in her ass well enough but it was more mechanical than anything else so the scene felt kind of flat to me.

Scene Two: Ann, the director and lead hotty of the movie (located in the middle of the front DVD cover in the black bikini), Jenaveve, the curvy babe in the orange bikini on the front DVD cover, and Felecia were up next in a scene by the pool. Each gal brought something different to the mix, Ann was the youthful cutie; Jenaveve was the curvy sexpot; and Felecia had more experience in lesbian scenes than both of them put together. This was Jen's first lesbian scene but she really shined throughout the action and gave a solid performance. In all, it was well done and worth repeated viewing.

Scene Three: Alexa, a very lean brunette with a slightly exotic look to her, was up next in a scene with Ann on a couch. The sex was slower and more sensual but seemed to work well in contrast to some of the other lesbian outings of the movie. Ann appeared to get off at least once and the two shared some chemistry together in Alexa's first lesbian outing on camera.

Scene Four: Mikayla, a gal with some nice curves and a strong set of legs, started off the next scene by masturbating on a bench outside by the house. Jennifer ran across her and the two began to get into a groove together. The rubbing and kissing were warm and the action pretty good although it didn't last nearly long enough for my tastes. Like most of the other scenes, there was a lot of 69 action and glass dildo play but Jennifer was the hotter of the two in terms of getting off as well as giving the best performance.

Scene Five: Lola, another established porn veteran, and Daisy, a regular on the infamous K-Sex internet radio show, had a very solid scene on the lawn outside in front of Ann. I appreciated how they warmed one another up and took the time to intimately explore one another in a way the others simply didn't do before they sped things up to give a good show. They did all the same sex acts to one another, using a glass dildo as the others did (I wonder how much Ann Marie got for the product placement). Lola was the better of the two but each gave some good sex to the other here. What I wasn't keen on is how Ann then had a solo scene in a bathtub that was edited into this scene, weakening both. Don't get me wrong; I liked watching all three of them but the Ann action was limited and the editing troublesome.

Summary: Babes Illustrated 14: Going South was a moderately fun movie to watch and the glass dildos by Phallix stole the show more than a few times. With an attractive cast, some decent lesbian scenes and fair production values, I thought a rating of Rent It was fair. Had there been more chemistry, more heat and passion, and even more running time; I might have felt more comfortable rating it higher but there were too many soft spots to do that. Otherwise, it had a few very nice moments that I'm sure you'll enjoy if you give it a chance.
