Extra's: Most fans are going to like the 10 minutes of deleted scenes more than anything else although most of the footage was deleted for technical reasons (lighting, angles, and the like). If you like the cast, you'll overlook the technical flaws and enjoy the footage. Personally, I liked the 27 minute long Behind the Scenes feature (mainly by Steve Holmes) as it introduced the cast and crew while showing a lot of fun as well. The extras were rounded out with a pop shot compilation from the scenes, a photogallery and some trailers but the first two extras were the best by a wide margin.

Audio/Video Quality: Dual Invasion was presented in the usual 1.33:1 ratio full frame that it was shot in by director John Strong. The lighting was solid and that kept the shadows and grain to a minimum; with the DVD mastering helping to make it look good all around. The deleted footage helped show me how solid the editing was too as the weaker moments stood out compared to the main movie and I have to admit that John did a good job here on the visuals. The audio was presented in the usual stereo English and while the levels varied a bit, it seemed pretty solid too if you understand the inherent weaknesses of gonzo porn.

Body of Review: Platinum X Pictures has been around for over 100 movies now and while I've missed out on getting most of them, my sampling as a reviewer has led me to believe that the best way to describe the body of work released by the company would be as slightly edgier version of sister company Red Light District's works. The bottom line is that if you want something slightly more off the beaten track in gonzo, you could do a lot worse than PXP and hardcore companies are plentiful these days so standing out on any level really speaks volumes. The latest release I got to review was John Strong's Dual Invasion, a movie that focused on double penetrations with five scenes of heated action. I thought that a few of the scenes were slightly more mechanical than others but all of them were well done on many levels and here's a breakdown of the scenes by cast and action for those who care:

Scene One: Michelle, a large breasted blonde with a lot of appeal, was up first in a scene with both John and Michael after she crawled on the floor with her lovely ass in the air. John got dibs on her (as director, I'd expect nothing less) and the two went at it on the staircase to begin with her slobbing his knob. He went to tapping her ass from there and a little bit of titty fucking took place before they went into a room upstairs for some trio action with Michael. She kept up with some nice vocals as they swapped positions before the inevitable DPs began and the scene showed a whole lot of energy with some chemistry too. I was less enthused with her rimming John than some of you might be but it's a fetish that seems to be growing in popularity. She proved to be one of the most talented gals of the movie and it was a great way to start the scene (especially if you like gals that swallow!).

Scene Two: Vanilla, an attractive gal with brown hair and some sweet curves, was up next in a scene with John and Michael on a couch. They double teamed her orally before letting her play with them for a while and I thought her oral skills were pretty solid for a newcomer. She was not the most skilled performer of the show but that came off as a freshness here and I know a bunch of fans like that too (they tell me so…a lot!). In any case, she followed the formula and was soon being pumped away at like a side of beef and the guys drilled both her holes (pussy and ass) like they wouldn't get any in a long, long time. I couldn't deny their enthusiasm and she seemed to return it in spades. She didn't seem as ready to accept the DP as Michelle but her yelling will appeal to those of you who like a gal pushed to her limits. Like the other scenes, she rimmed and did plenty of taste testing and the scene ended a massive facial coating (no swallowing though).

Scene Three: Marie, a black gal wearing a fishnet top and white shorts, was up next with Erik and John. She had some junk in her trunk but it looked better on her than it would on most of us and she had a different "look" than the other gals (three of which were blondes). Her tease footage was pretty solid and I thought her body was far above average for a black gal in the jizz bizz these days; so hopefully I'll get to see more of her. Harkening back to the days of white owners on plantations in the South, she took everything they had to offer without complaint and showed some skill with their cocks ramming in and out of her holes. She mostly held on when taking the various DPs but otherwise, her dirty talk and energetic pumping were well done. At the end, she gives a bonus blowjob to Steve Holmes and the scene was solid in all ways (with a few minor problems not worth going into).

Scene Four: Melissa, the lean blonde on the front DVD cover, was up next as she teased wearing a skimpy black top and a neon pink plaid skirt. I'd like to see her in her natural hair color a few times but the all natural body really set her apart from many of her contemporaries. The fact that she had a great ass didn't hurt my desire either and Erik and John seemed to agree with my logic. It started off with a point of view (POV) blowjob and quickly moved inside for some rough sex between the three. From the titty slapping to the hammering anal action and DPs, she took it all with an enthusiasm second to none in this release although much of the energy could be traced back to the guys this time. They hit her holes nonstop and while she liked it more than I would (especially the DAP; double anal), it seemed a bit edgier than I usually prefer. She did the usual taste testing and took a large coating of goo to her lovely face at the finish.

Scene Five: Jamie, a gal that looked a lot like Melissa and Michelle with a few extra pounds, was the final gal to get some action from Michael and John. Her task was more difficult than the others in that most viewers would already be spent a few times by this point in the movie. She did the usual gagging, the double suck fans want to see, and the aggressive antics that the others did but she needed to provide something extra to really shine. The scene on its own was as good as any of the others here since she was just as skilled (if not more so than a few of her colleagues) and just as energetic with a lot of passion but she never really transcended the level of the others. If you watched this scene first, you'd be all done with the movie for a few days (she could really milk a nut!) but tacked on at the end, it lacked anything "extra" to stand out. In all, she followed the formula set by John but other than being a very good scene, it lacked a little bit of something to make her stick out in my memory (and I like her work).

Summary: Dual Invasion may be known as the release where John Strong finally broke free of the generic gonzo label he's become saddled with. I thought it had a few issues but was mostly worth a rating of Highly Recommended for fans of hardcore gonzo and DPs. The women were attractive, the direction solid, and the energy levels off the chart in many cases with plenty of replay value to enjoy so if you're looking for love in all the wrong places, check this one out for all it had to offer.
