Audio/Video Quality: The 1.33:1 ratio full frame color video was fairly basic and not bad, but not great either. The lighting was the same as previous volumes and the grain levels were too high as a result. The composition of the shots has long been an issue for me although I acknowledge that the emphasis was, and should have been, on the gals. The audio was still a little too low on the performers but I'm getting used to that fact on Ed's releases.

Body of Review: Real Naturals is an Ed Powers series that focuses on women without silicon enhancements who have not been in a lot of porn movies. Okay, a fairly sound premise to start with so we ask ourselves; What will it take to succeed? My answer is usually to have less of Ed and more cute women. InReal Naturals 14, unlike Volume 15, the women are not generally as cute. Sure, Barby and Cherry are attractive but the rest should stay in poorly lit clubs. Here's a quick breakdown of the scenes for you:

Scene One: Barby and her husband Brandon start off this show by warming up in the outdoor area of Ed's place. They then took it inside on the splooge-bed. She's very lean and he looks a lot better than Ed. I think she had fun but felt the need to put on a porn performer's moaning session first. It ended in an internal shot (ewwwww). Not a bad way to start an Ed release.

Scene Two: Dominique, Lieng, and Cherry had an all woman scene on the bed. The first two were, looks challenged, and not my type. Cherry was cute though. In any case, I'd be lying if I said they didn't appear to have any fun so it wasn't a complete waste of time.

Scene Three: Blanca and her husband Mikel had a scene with Ed joining in. She would be okay if you had a few too many beers and had a stiffy but she's on the wrong side of the clock. Ed felt the need to have her blindfolded for this scene, I guess so she wouldn't run away screaming when he touched her (I'm kidding!); and that gimmick didn't improve the scene. The problem with this scene was mostly that Mikel looked to be similar to Ed in terms of attractiveness and ability. I did chuckle a bit when Ed kissed her at the end and tasted Mikel's sperm-although he made too big a deal of it so the humor died quickly. It was not great sex and I'd bet that Mikel was just some guy she met in her strip club that she conned into taking her to Ed's place.

Summary: Well, I suppose the up side to this one was seeing a couple of cuties-Barby and Cherry have some fun. It was worth a Rent It for their scenes. I'd have preferred that those two had a two hour scene together and the rest of the cast took the day off to go fishing but that's life. I think the current practice by New Machine to release compilations of the better scenes has created a decent market for some of the older works by Ed Powers (I suggested it years ago) and the two stronger scenes were prime candidates for such a series.

This Don Houston "retro-review" was written long ago before the so-called Professor of Porn had much experience writing reviews. Since that time, he has seen more porn than almost anyone reviewing on the internet. Keep in mind that his comments accurately reflected his fresh viewpoint of the time he first saw the movie.
