Extra's: The best extra offered here was a 13 minute long Behind the Scenes feature, While not the most involved extra I've watched of late, I generally find a lot to like about this type of thing since it helps form a connection between my mind and the performer. I didn't like the way it started with no audio and almost gave up on it but about a third of the way through, the vocals kicked in and the droning music dropped off. The other extras were the standard trailers, photogallery, fetish menu, commercial for Lex in the City, and link to the official Lex website.

Audio/Video Quality: Black Reign 4 was presented in the usual 1.33:1 ratio full frame color that most porn is shot in. This was the original aspect ratio by director Domina X and for the most part, it was pretty good. The lighting was a bit off in some of the scenes and that caused a bit more grain that I prefer seeing as well as some color saturation issues but both of these problems were minor. The camera angles ranged from the usual types of shots to some POV to a few that are not common at all (which helped maintain my interest level). The stereo audio was a bit on the varied side this time since the sound levels appeared to be set on the fly and at times; a very vocal cast member could yell and cause distortion. Otherwise, the audio was kind of basic with little separation between the channels and nothing coming out of the rear channels (as usual).

Body of Review: Recently, I had a chance to watch Black Reign 3, a movie about black women from Mercenary Pictures. It had some solid action and a cast that appealed to the jungle fever in me so I was happy that I also had the opportunity to watch Black Reign 4 in time for Martin Luther King Jr. Day. You see, I also have a dream where people are judged not by the color of their skin but by their sexual performances on DVD and so far this year, Mercenary Pictures has been the leader in providing women of color in sexual situations that I can appreciate year round. Like the Black Reign 1 that I reviewed so long ago, I knew that I'd get some hot black honeys to watch and this made me happy. While I'm not of the opinion that black women are better in bed than other women, I still like a little variety in my life which was why I was puzzled to find some white gals in the show. I like white women just fine but if I buy a black themed DVD, I'd kind of like it to stay focused. That said, here's a breakdown of the scenes by cast and action, noting that the entire cast was somewhat talented:

Scene One: Destiny, a light skinned gal wearing white lingerie to accentuate her curvy ass, was from England and she had a scene with Lex and Zenza after some tease footage. While she may be of color, she could pass for several nationalities if she wanted. Zenza got some oral loving first and there was some POV camera angles employed but both men got to sample her all she had to offer as the scene progressed. As she took their cocks inside her, it became apparent that she was a screamer and liked the action at least as much as the paycheck. That made this a lot of fun to watch although the audio levels were so high at times that the vocals got distorted. There was enough chemistry to make me think she was the perfect choice to start off with and the energy was high too.

Scene Two: Stacy, was a black gal that fit the theme a bit better with much darker skin but an equally curvy body. Her lingerie was less oriented to the tease action but she was made up to look better than I've ever seen her before. Zenza was the lucky stiff to get to work with her and each gave the other some oral pleasure before screwing like happy little bunnies in several positions. It ended like all the other scenes (although not on her face) and she also appeared to have some sexual skill with a little chemistry as well to liven things up. She was the gal on the right hand side of the front DVD cover for those that care.

Scene Three: Marie, the attractive young lady on the left side of the front DVD cover, was up next as she teased and masturbated herself for the camera. While she admittedly looked better on the front cover, I seriously doubt any straight man would pass up a chance to play with her as Lex got to on the couch. He rubbed her the right way and kissed her a bit before spanking her to establish dominance. She gave him a fairly decent blowjob (keeping in mind that his member was a bit too large for her to take all the way inside her throat) and the action began for real after that. Lex did almost all the work and that lowered the score of this scene a fair amount because I enjoy seeing the gal contribute too (heck, the other gals did, why not her?). Maybe Lex can give her private lessons some day to elevate her sexual ability score.

Scene Four: Candice, a black gal with some extra cushion for the pushing, was up next as she pranced about the stairs in a green slip and stockings. Her partner after the formulaic tease was Valentino, a guy who's known for handling anything that comes his way. She sat on his face for awhile and then gave him some oral to show her appreciation but the scene was another that was okay but felt like something was missing. I did enjoy the titty fuck she gave him and she was vocal enough to coax out a load or two in future viewings but some time at the gym and a bit more aggressive action from her would've gone a long way to making this one a winner.

Scene Five: Luccia and Louisa, a couple of white gals with black bodies (chunky butts and all) were up in the last scene with Lex. They played well together but I was kind of thrown off by the fact that they weren't what was advertised (black women). They sounded like Brazilians to me but at least they were funny as Louisa begged for black cock (claiming to be from Germany). The fun factor was once again worth giving extra points for and Lex jumped right in as they inhaled his massive dick as best they could. They double teamed him orally before taking turns vaginally in several positions. Luccia took the facial and Louisa licked it off to end this very solid scene.

Summary: Black Reign 4 was well worth a rating of Recommended for me. I might have given it a higher rating but it wasn't completely true to its advertised cast of black women so I felt obligated to subtract just enough to drop it down a notch. Granted, not all the scenes were worth the higher rating to begin with but the ones that hit home were very solid indeed. The technical flaws were minimal and the cast attractive so check it out if you'd like to see what Lex and company have been up to recently.
