Extra's: The best extra this time was the 11.5 minute long Behind the Scenes feature by Powder that had some of the photoshoot, lots of goofing around (especially with that cute chihuahua of Kurt's), and some sex. There was also a 6 minute photoshoot, some trailers, a director's biography, cumshot recap, photogallery and double sided DVD cover.

Audio/Video Quality: Taste Her Ass was presented in the usual 1.33:1 ratio full frame color it was shot in by director Kylie Ireland. Like most Platinum X Picture releases, it looked very good in most cases, with decent lighting, accurate fleshtones, little grain or noise, and a fair amount of interesting camera angles. There were some shadows at times and the composition of a few bits here and there weren't top of the line but even the best companies can't be flawless all the time (and PXP isn't quite there yet). I didn't notice that the editing on a couple of scenes seemed rushed but you'd have to watch the DVD at regular speed and pay close attention to catch it so I'm doubtful if most people will notice (well, consumers might). The stereo English audio was pretty basic and all the gals could be heard as they talked dirty and moaned like crazy. There wasn't a lot of separation between the channels and the dynamic range was limited but that's true of most gonzo (and other) porn so I'm not going to beat PXP up on it. In general, it looked and sounded better than most releases from Evil Angel but not quite as good as sister company Red Light District so act accordingly.

Body of Review: Kylie Ireland has long been one of my favorite performers in the wonderful world of porn. It's not just because she's such a hotty, although that factors into my comments too, but her energy and glowing personality have long been just the type of thing I needed to get off when watching a show. From her first performance with Jenna Jameson to her contract status at VCA and all the scenes in between, she has been one of the most reliably hot gals in the jizz bizz and I was saddened to see her start bowing out of the industry not long ago. Thankfully, she started directing so all wasn't lost and amazingly enough; she ended up at Platinum X Pictures, a company carving out a niche in the gonzo field that tends to employ a bit more kink than average to draw in the crowds. While Kylie has never been considered a gonzo babe her first efforts at directing have met with a fair amount of applause for good reason; she's talented behind the camera too. Her latest release is Taste Her Ass, the first of her directing jobs that I've been fortunate enough to review. In it, the emphasis is on anal sex, including rimming, ATM and even anal creampies with swallowing. If you enjoy seeing that kind of thing, take a look at Kylie's trip on the wild side of gonzo directing by reading the following breakdowns of the scenes by cast and actions:

Scene One: Catch of the Day: Kami, wearing a red fishnet body stocking, Tyla, also dressed up in stripper clothing, and gentleman Steve had the first scene when he unloaded Tyla from his trunk as though he had purchased her at the local market. Kami appeared to be "over pornified" (her own words slightly out of context) with her bolt ons, dirty mouth, and look while Tyla was a bit fresher than usual. They went inside and had the scene on a couch that included everything you'd expect from a movie advertised as "100% anal". There was a lot of rimming, ATM (with the variation of ass to other girl's mouth-ATOGM), anal boning and the like with each gal getting in on the action. Kami struck me as kind of creepy (she reminded me a lot of mainstream actress Juliette Lewis) but the energy levels were high even if the chemistry varied from gal to gal. It ended with an anal creampie that Kami engulfed straight from Tyla's ass with the gals kissing afterwards. Steve managed to give Tyla a bit of juice too but it was anti-climatic for me.

Scene Two: Whore-liquin Romance: Michelle and Jamie, both curvy blondes that look enough alike that on first glance they could be mistaken for sisters if not twins, began the second scene playing with one another on the couch in the basement. Each had ample breasts and wore lingerie that enhanced their looks a lot. The gals were joined by Jean and after a great blowjob, began tapping each of them like a man possessed. There was a lot of taste testing going on with the emphasis on anal from very early on in the scene. The spitting, ATM and variants, and energetic screwing were better this time as the chemistry was more in line with the type of gonzo scene I've come to expect from PXP. Michelle was less into the ATM action than Jamie but looking as good as she does, most fans won't care much although there wasn't as much rimming as the previous scene either.

Scene Three: More Ass Than a Toilet Seat: Olivia, the hotty on the right side of the front DVD cover, and Isabel, the gal crotched down beside her on the left side of the cover, had the next scene with studly Manuel. It began with Olivia warming herself up on a couch while the other two got busy on the balcony above her. Both gals had an ass to die for and Isabel gave hers up first but that didn't last long as they joined Olivia downstairs to add all the usual variations on the theme. There seemed to be more vaginal sex (with variations) this time but anal was present all over it too. There was a lot of taste testing but little rimming so you'll have to judge if the secondhand ass tasting is good enough for your tastes. The gals managed to prove their worth several times as the energy levels got higher as the scene progressed and I think they worked well together to the point the chemistry levels were as high as any of the other scenes but Olivia was clearly the best of the two.

Scene Four: Anally Insane: Nicki, a blonde that I've begun following lately for her heated performances and lovely curved body (what a sweet ass!), laid on a bed teasing the camera before she was joined by Alex, a gal with untapped potential, and Kurt. Alex did the most rimming and ATM variants but the editing of the scene seemed choppy more than a few times, weakening the overall action for me. Nicki's dirty talk did help enhance the heat a bit as did her ability to take the anal as well as any of the performers, but Alex just didn't appeal to me so your mileage will vary. The energy was high but chemistry mixed although I'd have been happy if it were just one gal (Nicki) and Kurt.

Scene Five: Wait For Halftime, Bitch: Lucy and Jackie, both dressed in fishnet body stockings with butt floss, interrupted Kurt as he watched some kind of sporting event on television. With the Super Bowl coming up, I could see this happening to a guy or two out there, although those into sports would probably forgo the sex until the end of the game (silly men!), even if given an opportunity like this. Jackie was the best suck slut and she did a great job getting him rock hard as well as cleaning him off of Lucy's juices but Lucy had some good riding action, especially in the vaginal part, so I can't say this scene was as inherently flawed as the last one. The anal was also energetic and while Jackie was the best of the two there too, each was competent in the ATM with variants. In all, there was a lot of passion and energy even if Lucy kind of broke the illusion a few times by looking at the camera (lowering the chemistry since she seemed distracted when she should've been happily accepting his meat without reserve).

Summary: Taste Her Ass is not the best gonzo anal flick I've watched in my years of reviewing but I'd be lying to you if I said it looked like someone as sweet as Kylie could've directed it. Personal feelings aside, she did a solid job on the DVD and while there were areas in need of improvement, with a bit of guidance, I could see her surpassing the work of some very popular directors in no time. If you like the listed cast here and want to see them engaged in anal action, you could do a whole lot worse than this DVD so I'm going to rate it as Recommended. I just wish Kylie had joined in for all us fans to enjoy her once more. In any case, there was a lot of fuck for the buck and the value of the movie was quite high, but that tends to be the case of most Platinum X Picture releases these days so I can't say I'm surprised.
