Extra's: The best extra was the inclusion of 31 minutes of deleted sex scenes from the movie. None of them was exceptional so I can see why they were cut out but added sex, be it lesbian, b/g, or solo material, is always a welcome extra in this day and age of consumers wanting a lot of fuck for the buck. There was also a set of trailers and some spam but I'd have appreciated a cast list given the overly stylish manner in which the movie was shot.

Audio/Video Quality: Stuntgirl was presented in the usual 1.33:1 ratio full frame color that it was shot in by director Jack the Zipper. First, let me address the most asked about questions regarding the DVD/movie. It was stylish looking to the point that most porn aficionados will hate the way it looks. The lighting was often weak or reddish in tint, the camera work reminded me of what The Blair Witch Project would've been like if filmed by someone with less talent, and the editing almost as bad (or nonexistent). There are those that will say this is artistic or that the raw energy of the movie transcended the need for a technically proficient director but they'd be trying to sell you copies so please take what they say with a couple pounds of salt. In short, a clusterfuck of a movie is no better when sprinkled with flowery prose (and it's not Hustler's fault, they didn't direct it). The stereo audio track wasn't quite as bad but when the music stopped, the vocals were hollow and the movie seemed empty; devoid of any redeeming value. The silence would be preferable to the music that gave me a headache but musical tastes vary even more than tastes in porn so that's something you'd have to figure out on your own.

Review: Every once in a while, I come across a title that tries something new and I generally find something to appreciate about this fresh approach; no matter how weak it may be in certain areas. Porn is about providing adult entertainment to the masses and most of us fall into one of a limited number of categories in this regard; either those who like seeing a certain type of sex act (anal, double anal, blowjobs or whatever fetish they don't get at home), a certain "look", or a certain amount of energy in how the performers approach their scenes.

Sometimes, a director will try something new; from Blake's use of gorgeous women who don't actually have sex, just prance around like living art, to Jules Jordan's balls to the wall gonzo or Justin Sterling's darker material and Brittney Foster's recent attempts at edgier porn. In any case, such attempts to think outside the box (as it were) usually fail in many ways since the audience is given virtually no warning as to what they should be expecting and the resulting mishmash of images tend to detract from the ability of the casual fan to jerk off. I'm acquainted with a lot of people that rate porn in terms of whether they could jerk off to it and my latest review is of a title that had far too little offered in these terms; Stuntgirl.

The movie is something of a showcase for the attractive Jessica Jaymes (not to be confused with the more attractive, to me at least, Jesse Jane) even though she didn't actually have sex with a man here (her first b/g release is due out soon). Seeing her and some of the others masturbate between the limited number of more traditional scenes wasn't bad but they were like several day old pieces of candy (tasted fair but less filling). The visual and audio style employed here made me wonder if anyone was in charge of quality control when this was picked up too. The motion dehancement, either speeding up or slowing down, the action was terrible too.

Given the way the movie was put together, I'll forego the usual breakdowns of the scenes in favor of a more organic method of telling you the highlights. The one scene worth mentioning was between Venus and Manuel Ferrara. It was strictly gonzo with anal and all the trimmings that we've all seen before done with the technical limitations explained earlier. I've seen both give far better performances elsewhere but it was worth a look. The lesbian pairings that came afterward were on the weak side too although some nice ass work was observed. Kimberly Kane's scene with Kurt Lockwood wasn't even worth going into so this is one case where a very short movie was preferred over having a lengthy set of scenes.

Summary: Stuntgirl will likely appeal to the small number of you that are searching for something different, no matter what the cost. It may not rise to the level of the mythical snuff film so true perverts clamor to watch but you could randomly sample a DVD from all that was released last year and you'll be assured of getting a better pick than this one. I originally thought that the quotes on the back of the DVD case meant it was a great release (I wonder if either guy actually watched the movie) but like most advertising on a cover, let the buyer beware. I'm going to rate this as a Skip It because other than the first real scene of the movie, (the one between Venus and Manuel), the sex was simply lame and the cast looking worse than I've seen them. Trust me when I say that Hustler has a lot better to offer for your hard earned dollar, yen, or pound.
