Audio/Video Quality: Jack's Playground 18 was presented in anamorphic widescreen 1.85:1 ratio color. The colors were sometimes a bit too saturated but aside from some minor grain and video noise, the show looked pretty good and never distracted from the sex taking place. The audio was presented in 5.1 Dolby Digital Surround English but the use of the audio format was not really great since most of the sound came from the center channel. While this comes as no surprise, especially since the budget of most porn movies is so small, Digital Playground is world-renowned for being on the leading edge of technology and a number of fans, myself included, appreciate their efforts.

Body of Review: Jack's Playground by director Robbie D. of Digital Playground has finally started getting some positive press (why do so many resist?) by others and that's likely due to the way the series fuses comedy with porn in a unique manner; thinking outside the box (so to speak) and having a willingness to showcase new gals that aren't into having sex with a partner just yet (few series are bold enough to have the hottest gals do only masturbation sequences). In any case, the series uses the guise of Robbie as "Jack" trying to catch hot women having sex in order to earn a place in his music videos. The latest volume I got to review was Jack's Playground 18, detailing the further misadventures of Robby (as Jack) as he tries to get attractive cuties to disrobe and have sex. Much like Jack's Playground 17, I found this to be a cute way to spend 90 minutes although it lacked the star power of some previous editions. If this sounds like something you'd enjoy, read the following breakdowns of the scenes by cast and action:

Scene One: Domino, the spicy Latina in the middle of the front DVD cover with long black hair and an all natural body, wanted to make $100 so she had a scene with Eric. The way she toyed with his penis during the oral showed a lot of promise and she wasn't too proud to lick his balls either. Her ass looked sweet but she only did vaginal here and even that lacked the type of energy I want to see in my porn viewing. I'll keep an eye out for her though since she really did have a look I wanted to know better.

Scene Two: Eva, a curvier gal with pretty eyes and a nice set of curves was up next in a solo scene. This is one of the hallmarks of the series, providing gals that're so new to porn that all they do is masturbate (some are more experienced but you catch my drift), and she had a girl next door quality that many of you might enjoy, especially if you're tired of skinny gals being portrayed as the only thing worth watching. It could've been longer but I liked watching it nonetheless.

Scene Three: Vanilla, a very attractive gal with light brown hair, and Evan, dressed as a pirate (not a butt pirate though), had a scene on the infamous couch of pleasure. She was another gal that I think was more attractive than conventional porn wisdom would proclaim her with her few extra pounds. The scene was oral and straight only, as are virtually all scenes in the series that aren't solo, but she proved her basic skills were good and that she had some enthusiasm for milking a nut.

Scene Four: Ramona, a skinny Latina gal with a nice ass but little else for me to recommend (unless you like gals appearing to be 15 years old), was up next. She had the next masturbation scene that consisted of mostly rubbing and poking herself with her fingers. It lacked heat and energy so I wasn't a fan of it.

Scene Five: Cytherea, the gal on the right side of the front DVD cover (and biggest name of the cast), was up next in a scene on a hotel room bed. Her partner was pretty boy Dale who appeared as interested in having sex with someone other than himself as always (it was part of the gag, sort of). It was also oral and vaginal only but at least she took the mouthful of semen like it wasn't poison. I was also pleased she didn't piss all over the place like she is known to do.

Scene Six: Erin, another cute blonde with a bit of junk in her trunk, was up last and could be seen on the front DVD cover's left side wearing the pink sweater. If you like bigger gals with nice curves, she'll appeal to you as much as she did me, and it was no surprise that pirate Evan came back for some more sex given this cutie had a need to breed (or at least practice breeding). Her scene was markedly different than a couple of the others by virtue of the heat and playfulness the couple had that made it fun to watch several times. She won't kick Jenna or Jesse off their thrones but she's destined to make a lot of men happy.

Summary: Jack's Playground 18 was not the strongest volume in the long running series but it had a lot of wacky moments that allow me to give it a rating of Rent It. Sure, some of the sex wasn't great and I'll always harp about DVDs that have barely 90 minutes of material on them with few extras but I'm fond of the series as an attempt at humor combined with some different approaches to what a porno should have. Robby has come a long way since his days at Vivid and his work for Digital Playground (at least the few titles I've been fortunate enough to review) has shown he's still growing as a director; this series being his main release for that perverted sense of humor he has.
