Extra's: There weren't a lot of extras here but I had to admit that the 36+ minute Behind the Scenes featurette was great! The gals had plenty of chance to shine in a series of solo tease scenes but also the way they goofed around while picking their toys was amusing to say the least. There was also a double sided DVD cover (one side hardcore and the other was soft core) and a trailer to another release at the front of the DVD but the BTS feature ruled.

Audio/Video Quality: Muff: Edition 1 was presented in the usual 1.33:1 ratio full frame color that it was shot in by director Miles Long. For the most part, it was nicely handled with proper lighting, decent composition with varied camera angles, and accurate colors. I saw few compression artifacts and no grain or video noise, making it a good looking DVD. The audio was presented in the usual stereo English but the sound wasn't as refined as the visuals were. The separation between the channels was bare, the dynamic range minimal and the music track droning but I did enjoy the dirty talk of the gals getting it on.

Body of Review: Few porn fans probably know the name Dave Gallegos compared to some of his more publicity hungry peers but that doesn't mean he has any less eye for the hotties that they do. Sometime last year, the man decided to venture off on his own and run a start up company, X-Worx, in order to accomplish what he felt was missing in porn these days. While I'm not sure if he'll be able to provide anything significantly different, his first release (that I've seen at least), Muff: Edition 1, might well be a step in the right direction. The DVD is a series of lesbian vignettes with some of the freshest talent available in the wonderfully weird world of porn. Thankfully, all of the 13 women (that's right: 13!) seemed to enjoy the taste of pussy and the feel of a curvy cutie to sexually engage with. If you enjoy full fledged lesbian releases like Big Toys No Boys, WTBA 16, Girl Crazy and My Ass Is Haunted, you'll no doubt like this one too but here's a breakdown of the scenes to give you an idea of what sets this release apart from the others mentioned:

Scene One: Ariana, one of the most upwardly mobile performers in the jizz biz at this time, began the scene after walking in on Nicki and Trinity who were playing around by the outdoor pool. They thought they put one over on her but she wasn't about to be messed with. Ariana took charge of the gals and led them on their hands and feet inside onto a couch where the real fun began as Trinity and Nicki were tied up while Ariana held a riding crop to them. The toy use was more than I really care for (great glass toys though) but fans of lesbian action with taste testing will rejoice at this scene (which included anal with ATM). It wasn't the best scene of the bunch but it was worth checking out.

Scene Two: Haley, one of the sweeter gals in porn when this was made, was up next as she masturbated while watching blonde Jackie do the same inside a nice house. The contrast between young and old, brunette and blonde, was the winning point of this one. Jackie's fishnet body stocking was hot and the way she dominated her younger friend was pretty intense for the most part, in another scene full of toys and anal antics. The energy wasn't as consistent as the first scene but it was also worth checking out for all the rimming and muff diving one would want to see.

Scene Three: Aria, the muscular and dominating brunette, took care of brunette Isobel and blonde hotty Jamie (both dressed in white fishnet outfits), as the couple used large toys to masturbate with. There was a lot of anal here too but the dirty talk and spitting took center stage as these gals became the hottest scene of the movie (to this point at least). Isobel's gape was huge and the playful aggressiveness of the scene was very intense, especially as eight fingers dove into Isobel's ass. Wow!

Scene Four: Sophia, one of the more subdued but curvy gals I've come to enjoy in recent months was up next with youthful brunette Charlie as the two enjoyed one another on a love seat indoors. The scene was probably the weakest of the lot in many ways but I can't deny that these two looked great together. Fans of theirs will have enough stroke material from this one scene alone to keep busy for awhile and it had some minor chemistry between the two gals. Like the other scenes, there was a lot of toy use and dirty talk but it seemed slower in many ways than the other scenes so the limitations outweighed the strengths.

Scene Five: Justine, the gal with neon red hair on the middle of the front DVD cover, Ava, the brunette on the right hand side of the cover, and blonde Trina (on the left hand side of the front DVD cover) were last up in a scene starting by a small pond. Justine's pale white skin contrasted nicely with the tanned hard body friends of hers but it was the way she wielded a strap on dildo (in Trina's pussy and ass for example) that really worked wonders. There was a lot of the usual taste testing, with ATM being the norm here, and this was the second best scene of the show for me in terms of heat, chemistry, energy and passion.

Summary: Muff: Edition 1 was not the strongest lesbian release I've seen in the last year but it was a great start for the X-Worx production company to begin with. The cast was full of attractive gals of all shapes and sizes with enough heat and energy to last a typical porn viewer a long time. The droning music and mixed strength of a couple scenes might've bogged it down somewhat at times but I never thought the production as a whole was anything less than something I'd give a rating of Recommended too. If the rest of the X-Worx catalog is as solid as this one was, I have a feeling we'll be hearing a lot more about them in the future.
