Extra's: The only extras were a 8.5 minute photogallery and a double sided DVD cover. Considering the amount of material in the movie itself, this isn't such a big problem but I was curious as to where the Behind the Scenes feature by Mark Stone went (it was mentioned in the credits).

Audio/Video Quality: Neo Pornographia was presented in the most unusual 1.85:1 anamorphic widescreen, something I see very rarely in this stage of development in the porn industry. Whatever else can be said about director Michael Ninn, when given a chance, he certainly expands the boundaries of visual excellence (at least when he's not using too many special effects). The colors were accurate, the grain minimal, the lighting exceptional in most cases, and the use of compositional angles to enhance the look of the female cast well done. I saw no compression artifacts or video noise making this one of the best looking pornos I've ever seen. The audio was presented in stereo English but it was far more limited than the visual aspects of the movie, especially when some of the short interviews took place (I could barely hear the cast at the optimal audio setting for the sex scenes).

Body of Review: Most fans of adult entertainment know director Michael Ninn for his couples friendly version of porn, be it his various releases at VCA, Private, or his own company, Ninn Worx. He often employs visual trickery and special effects to provide something different than most of his peers and the result is a wide variation in quality for those of us not enamored in such fare. That said, he has obviously listened to the criticism and decided to shut a few of us up by going well outside the box (at least compared to what he usually shoots) and made a three scene show called Neo Pornographia. The up side of the show will be that it lasted over three hours long, the down side will be that fans of his previous works will feel betrayed by the raincoater action of what he made this time. Personally, I hope he finds favor with that crowd since they seem to buy a lot of porn, making the current gonzo phase the industry is going through more than a passing fad, but I think the movie needs to be promoted as a set of circus act sex scenes since the hardcore crowd doesn't usually even glance Ninn's way. In all, it was a very visually interesting and even sexually heated show so if this sounds interesting to you, check out my following breakdowns of the scenes by cast and action:

Scene One: Audrey Hollander, a redhead with kinky hair and an even kinkier sex drive, was up first as she teased the camera in preparation for her scene that was supposed to "push her limits"; a difficult task considering some of the scenes she's been in over the last few years. She masturbated while wearing a form fitting bustier and was soon slobbing all over a huge glass dildo (made by Phallix) that no human could ever hope to fit inside their body. She gave me the impression that she would try though and I was spellbound as she stuffed her hand in her mouth and wet the dildo while talking dirty. At this point, Nikki Hunter joined her and told her that "he" wouldn't be happy if she didn't fit the toy in. She never took the full length inside but she took the large bulbous head in both holes as she begged to be fucked by her mysterious male lover (who later appeared to be either Otto or Mike, her scene partners, IIRC). They pushed her limits beyond anything I expected to see in a Michael Ninn movie, slamming her mouth, pussy and ass with more than she could handle at times (and she's known as an extreme queen). Fans of circus act sex will rejoice at the various double penetrations (traditional, DPP and DAP) as well as all the taste testing you could stomach. There was also slapping and minor abuse but after over an hour of sexual perversion, I needed a break. Whew!

Scene Two: Melissa Lauren, dressed as a schoolgirl in a white top and plaid skirt, claimed to not like working with women, especially hot brunette Sandra Romain. Setting it up as a lesbian grudge fuck (Ninn's words, not mine), commentator/assistant Nikki Hunter gave Melissa some time to warm up by doing a solo masturbation sequence on a couch, even using an overhead camera to get some unique viewpoints. The action included a smaller glass dildo than Audrey used and some anal beads with the following interview with Sandra to further stoke the fire with some bad mouthing of the partners. Sandra used a wider selection of toys and had a superior ass but it wasn't until the two of them got together that the fireworks ignited. They used large toys and pushed each other to their respective lesbian limits after a set up depicting a cat fight in black & white. I'm not against the concept but it seemed staged most of the time and that kept me from enjoying the action as thoroughly as I would have done. It was still very solid in most ways though.

Scene Three: Julie Knight, one of the cuter gals in porn that sported newly brunette hair for this scene has long been a solid performer in my book for her sexual skills, alluring moves and attractive face & natural body. Nikki helped warm her up with some glass dildo action but it was her own solo performance that shined here. Like the others, she used the toys on her ass as well as pussy, keeping them clean the old fashioned way. This allowed her to take on a trio of men, including Frank, Alex, and Anthony; each of whom got a turn hammering her pussy and ass silly. She gave splendid oral to them, took a double anal like an established professional, and even stretched her pussy to the limit as well. The scene built in intensity throughout and I found it a bit too extreme in terms of edgy sex but I don't need the bleeding edge or rough sex to get off like some of you do either. It ended when Nikki spooned out some semen from Julie's ass and made her eat it.

Summary: Neo Pornographia is one of those movies that will greatly appeal to the fans of extreme circus act sex far more than Michael Ninn's usual fan base. I'm very curious as to why he went so far out of character with this release but the stunning visuals, the attractive cast, and the variety twists and kinks made for a few sessions of perverse fun. As such, I'm going to nudge the rating ever so slightly and give this one a rating of Highly Recommended for those looking for something edgy, far edgier than one would expect from erotica oriented Michael Ninn. If, on the other hand, you're in the market for his usual stylish porn, you'll want to avoid this one like the plague as it was almost oppressive at times in how far the gals were pushed to their limits (and some might claim beyond them).
