Extra's: The best extra was a nearly 9 minute long Behind the Scenes feature with Steve Holmes at the helm as he spoke with the gals and had them show off their goodies. There was also a nearly five minute photoshoot of scene's one and five (mislabeled) with Nikki Dark, Kathy Anderson, and Simone Peach getting to strut their stuff for the photographers. The rest of the extras were the standard pop shot recap, trailers, a photogallery and a double sided DVD cover.

Audio/Video Quality: Perversions 2 was presented in the usual 1.33:1 ratio full frame color that it was shot in by director Steve Holmes. I'd be the last reviewer to suggest Mr. Holmes is known for his technically perfect visuals but aside from a single scene that looked really weak (the dark lighting seemed to be a stylish way to accentuate the theme), the production appeared to be fairly well recorded. The colors were accurate, the grain minimal most of the time, and the amount of compression artifacts negligible. The composition of the actual scenes sometimes left a bit to be desired, primarily using too many close ups and edits, but this being gonzo porn, most of us have become used to it. The stereo audio was another point of contention for me in that it was bare bones all the way. While you could hear the moans and groans just fine, there were also background noises and the lack of separation between the channels was nearly as bad as the poor dynamic range.

Body of Review: For the last several years, one performer has become known for his gentle ways as much as his perverted leanings; Steve Holmes. Known as the Gentleman of Porn, this foreign bred meat puppet has been in more movies than most of us can count and has shown the ability to be "up" for almost anything. Having conquered the performing angle, Steve has now set his sights on becoming a director, making movies like Perversions 1 for Platinum X Pictures to a fairly appreciative audience. His latest release is Perversions 2, a lengthy ode to hardcore gonzo porn with some extra nastiness included for good measure. Platinum X Pictures seems to be a good home for this guy as he provides them with a unique vision to counterbalance their sometimes mechanical works (to be fair, they give the audience exactly what it asks for in almost all cases). If this sounds interesting to you, read the following breakdown of the scenes by cast and action:

Scene One: Nikki Dark, a very lean, some would say skinny, brunette, began the scene by wearing a coat and stockings in public, flashing the camera all over the place (the street, in stores, by a club) but came home to Steve Holmes, Erik Everhard, Michael Stefano; all of whom were sitting on a couch for some oral action (hand assisted oral action at that). She always kept a smile and as the scene progressed to the vaginal, anal and DPs that I was sure would come, she continued to impress me with her positive attitude. It eventually ended with an anal creampie that she pushed into a glass for her dining pleasure. Yikes!

Scene Two: Sarah Twain, the brunette with haunting eyes as seen on the front DVD cover, started off the scene as a waitress who gave up Samantha and Sarah Blue as "fresh fish" for Erik Everhard and Michael Stefano, even as she blew Steve Holmes. The veritable orgy began with the gals taking it in all three holes, having DPs as though they were a walk in the park (mostly at least), and lots of taste testing (pussy to mouth and ass to mouth). The plentiful pop shots went all over the place in creampie fashion as well as dripping into mouths, so I can't say the action was generic gonzo.

Scene Three: Natali Di Rossa, a lean blonde with a fetching face and sleek body, was up next as she played an ice queen in a stylishly designed room that looked like a frigid landscape painting of the sea up north. Her partner was the irrepressible Erik Everhard who came to her after minimal tease footage to offer his penis popsicle for her oral pleasuring as he fingered her to wetness. He tapped the anal orifice first and she seemed quite at home with a penis in her ass, before he popped it out for her to suck on (ATM). He then switched positions and did some vaginal with spanking but it was almost as though she were fucking him with the way she rode up and down. It ended with an anal creampie as he jerked off onto her gape for those of you into that type of thing.

Scene Four: Liliane Tiger, one of the hottest gals in porn (foreign or domestic at that), was up next as she laid tied to a bed in fetish attire (leather and chains: yum!) with horns on her head. Steve Holmes smoked a cigarette and played with her using some toys before she was released to aggressively play her role as a devil/demon and sexually satisfy him. I liked the setting (painted to look like hell) but the weak lighting reduced the heat for me, especially given what a hotty she was. She rode him hard after a great blowjob and then Michael Stefano joined in to give her a sweet DP. It ended with a lot of semen coating her upper torso and face but the greatness of the sex was limited due to lighting issues.

Scene Five: Kathy Anderson and Simone Peach, both attractive women with near perfect bodies for porn, began the scene wearing frilly underwear in a bed, kissing and rubbing one another as though they really enjoyed it. After properly warming one another up, they were joined by Erik Everhard, Michael Stefano and Steve Holmes, each of whom brought some magic to the proceeding. The action was similar to the other scenes, with an emphasis on anal (and ATM) with gaping but a lot of oral took place too. There were DPs but they were not as frequently occurring as I would have thought going in. In all, it was a solid way to close out the scene with some major facial action for fans.

Summary: Perversions 2 seemed slightly more fitting of its name than the first volume of the series, earning it a rating of Recommended for the effort. I think there was a lot of fuck for the buck with Steve showing off his usual style while his coworker meat puppets gave their energy and drive to assist him. The gals were all attractive (some were fabulously attractive) and the movie showed that Perversions 2 was well worth your time and money. I only hope that Steve can polish some of the rougher edges of his work so that he can obtain the level of excellence that a few of his fellow directors at Platinum X Pictures have displayed but he's well on his way of catching up to them in the competitive field of porn movie making.
