Audio/Video Quality: Dementia 2 was presented in the same 1.33:1 ratio full frame color it was shot in by director Jim Powers for Mayhem. The colors were sometimes slightly muted and I did notice some grain in the darker scenes (as well as some compression artifacts) but the visual aspects of the movie complimented the overall theme. The image wasn't perfect but it managed to show all the action better than the original, proving director Jim Powers has grown a bit in his talent (I only got to see pieces of the original but my friend indicated some visual problems in his review discussed below. If you're looking for perfection in the technical aspects of a porno, I can direct you to other solid hits but the heat of this one was evident. The stereo audio used for the movie was primarily used for the music with the vocals sounding a bit hollow. Otherwise, it was pretty well done and a slight step up from average.

Body of Review: Every once in a while, I get to see something out of the ordinary when reviewing porn. Typically, such titles don't come from the larger, more established companies either, especially in this day and age of conservative values. The most recent example of so-called cutting edge porn, came from the folks at Mayhem, specifically from director Jim Powers, in the form of Dementia 2. I never saw Dementia 1, but Brian's review of it led me to believe it had a lot of merit worth exploring so when I had the chance, I picked up the sequel (all two discs of it) and sat down expecting a plain, slightly edgy show. Much to my surprise, it was way ahead of the curve if you like fetish clothing and heated, passionate scenes with some elements of sexual abuse (pushing the limits) for your viewing pleasure. The story was minimal; a gal (Missy Monroe) marries her lover (Joel Lawrence), who proceeds to introduce her to her own darker side of sexual depravity. If this sounds like something you'd enjoy seeing, check out the following breakdown of scenes by cast, action and other factors, noting that no condoms were used in the scenes:

Scene One: Missy Monroe, playing a bride on her wedding night (showing the end of the ceremony too), was given a treat by her husband (played by Joel Lawrence) in the form of two latex covered Masked men. Her acting was well done as she appeared surprised but she quickly went into porn star mode, utilizing her well known skills as she blew them beside the bed. I could only identify the wimpy looking guy as Scotty (he must weigh about 98 pounds soaking wet) but most fans aren't hung up on male cast identity (a good thing here) so I won't fuss about it much. They screwed her pussy and ass, doing a heated DP too, with her ending it by swallowing their loads. This was Missy at her best folks so fans will want to get the movie based on this scene alone, not to mention some of her later work here.

Scene Two: Missy Monroe, tied to a bondage rack, was then forced to watch her "husband" Joel Lawrence, as he had a scene with a latex covered hotty, Sophia on the bed beneath her. I've never been too much into the B&D/S&M scene (played around a bit though) but this was certainly an edgy performance by the cast with a lot to like. The scene included a lot of anal with ATM (ass to mouth) and some latex with leather that managed to peak my curiosity more than a little bit. The wide eyed manner in which Sophia took him deep into her mouth was exceptionally hot too and I can only imagine how difficult it was to do the scene this way (she alluded to it in the BTS part of the extras).

Scene Three: Missy Monroe, still looking hot, began the next scene by eating sushi off of a special table arrangement; Ariana Jollee was spread eagled on the dining room table with the fish placed on top of her. The two men (Brett Rockman + Buster Good) in the scene were dressed as if to go to an awards show, and Joel masturbated Missy as they watched the action. Ariana then blew the two male leads with an energy reserved only for the very best performers in the business before they tore into her pussy and ass as though on fire. They screwed for a long time and eventually did a DP before feeding her their semen. She's the brunette on the left side of the front DVD cover if looks matter (Missy being the blonde featured there).

Scene Four: Hannah Harper, the hotty on the upper right hand corner of the front DVD cover, was dressed in a great black & pink PVC corset with matching stockings while Riley Brooks, in the business a whole week at this point, wearing an orange & black get up that drove me crazy, took on Scotty Lyons (in his latexed mask suit) and Johnny "Bad Bob" Thrust in a room as Missy watched them. There was a lot of oral and the gals almost seemed to get into a contest with one another over who was the best performer. Each took anal like a champion and if I had to place a bet, I'd have judged Hannah by a head as the winner here, especially due to the manner in which she took the DP.

Scene Five: Missy Monroe, dressed in a satiny pink nightgown, was then shown in an oral gangbang starting with the diminutive Napoleon dressed in fetish garb. I think almost the entire male cast, including Scotty Lyons, Brett Rockman, Buster Good, Johnny "Bad Bob" Thrust, Trent Tesoro, Rick Masters, Brad Baldwin, Diamond Lane, Cee, Julius, Dick Nasty, and Seth Dickens were all present to give her the kind of meat she then craved. If you like seeing a gal, Missy in particular, acting like a "cock crazed whore" as she described in the narrative, this will blow your mind for the amount of energy and passion she displayed. Whew!

Scene Six: Missy Monroe, all naked on a bed, finally got to have a full scene with Joel Lawrence on a bed. Other than the scene being a bit dark, it was also energetic although I got the impression that his penis was a bit long for her by the way she gagged a couple of times (surprising after the last scene). In all though, her full range of talents came into play from the heated oral to the vaginal and anal sex with the sole limitation being the way he appeared to be drained from the previous action. She was vocal about having fun and the scene ended as expected with her savoring his semen, swallowing it down handily.

Summary: Dementia 2 will not be for everyone. Essentially, people that will enjoy this will be fans of the cast and fans of heated sex acts that push the boundaries not only of good taste but of societal mores. Director Jim Powers could not have found a better lead for such a movie and the entire cast, particularly the females though, should be applauded for turning in some very solid sex scenes. The technical matters were well done too; while not perfect, they did manage to convey the mood of the scenes better than if they had been "perfect" and I think this one had a lot of replay value for fans of fetish gear and those wanting something a bit spicier than average. In short, Dementia 2 is the kind of porn that will knock your socks off while you spend some quality time alone watching it. Is it any wonder that I rated it as Highly Recommended?
