Audio/Video Quality: The Girls of Amateur Pages 4 was presented in the same 1.33:1 ratio full frame color it was shot in by director Antonio Rey for Cinema Play Entertainment. The settings for the scenes were very basic so it should come as no surprise that the colors were accurate, the lighting fairly solid, the grain levels minimal, and the overall picture nicely done. I saw no compression artifacts or video noise so you can rest assured that while the DVD wasn't cutting edge, it was pretty nice to look at. The audio was presented in stereo but the vocals seemed lost in the shuffle as the loud music track played for each scene. I greatly prefer hearing the gals as they masturbate rather than the droning porno music you find on such tracks so this wasn't all that favorable in my opinion.

Body of Review: It's been over a year since I last saw a DVD from Cinema Play and I had been wondering what they had been up to so I looked around; finding some favorable press given to the company by a wide range of critics (some of whom are actually trustworthy). That said, I picked up a recent release of theirs The Girls of Amateur Pages 4, a show tentatively about young amateur women masturbating as shown on the company website. I haven't seen the other releases in the series so I can't compare this one in terms of improvements but I'll try and give you a quick glimpse into what it had to offer a porn watching fan.

The movie was a series of twelve masturbation scenes by the listed cast (with one bonus scene, making it a baker's dozen). Some used toys and others tasted their juices off their fingers but the overall theme was a sort of softcore movie aimed squarely at the market niche of fans that don't care to see the parolee looking thugs most porn uses. I like watching gals masturbate as much as anyone else but admittedly, I'm kind of jaded having watched scores of super hardcore action over the years and this will appeal to some of you a lot more than me.

Each scene was nicely started with some tease footage by the gals, be they on a bed, couch, by a pool, or on the floor. They are shown on the front DVD cover (well, 12 of them are shown there) so you can get an idea of the variety offered up. There were no gals of color (black, Asian, Latina), and the formula used here was primarily designed to allow guys to jerk off as they fantasized about the cast playing with themselves. I could've used some dirty talk by them to more fully appreciate their work here but the slow tease footage was pretty pleasing for me and the different approach each of them used (some appeared more coached and guided than others) provided some decent contrast. I'd break the scenes down for you but the action was fairly basic and the cast are listed in order for those who care.

I particularly like Lea DeMae's, Monique Alexander, and Angel Long's scenes but some of the others were good too. That said, I can't help but mention that calling these scenes "amateur" as very truthful since a number of them have been professionally employed as porn stars for years. Your mileage will vary on the quality of the show therefore since the best of the batch were also the least amateurish. I'm going to rate the DVD as a Rent It primarily since it wasn't anything other than a set of solo scenes and I prefer to see more than that. If you're in the market for female masturbation action though, it wasn't a bad choice for your hard earned dollars.

Summary: The Girls of Amateur Pages 4 was an acceptable way to spend a few bucks and some time but it didn't have the advertised "over two hours" of action and the sex was limited to the hand/toy action of the gals. The technical values had some merit but keep in mind that there are better releases for such material on the market and Cinema Play Entertainment has made better movies. In short, The Girls of Amateur Pages 4 won't be for the hardcore circus act sex fan but couples and fans of solo scenes will have a lot to enjoy here.
