Extra's: The best extra for me was the inclusion of 19 minutes of bonus sex footage that was edited out of the scenes from the movie. Some of it was very heated but in most cases, it was apparent as to why it was excised from the original scenes (timing, flow, or technical matters). While I don't include it as an extra, the fifth scene (between Dana Vespoli and Michael Stefano), was not on the VHS version of the movie so those of you still in the dark ages, do yourselves a favor and get a DVD player if you don't have one (admittedly this is a small possibility since you're reading this review at DVD Talk but I like to be inclusive to readers). There was also the usual cumshot compilation from the scenes, a photogallery, cast list, limited filmographies, trailers and a John Leslie biography in need of updating.

Audio/Video Quality: was presented in the usual 1.33:1 ratio full frame color as originally shot by director John Leslie. It looked like The Voyeur 29, the movie had a LOT of issues with lighting and camera angles although I'll be the first to admit that they appeared to be artistic choices made by Mr. Leslie to convey the spirit of the hook here; the voyeuristic approach. If you've seen his previous volumes, any of them in fact, you'll know what I mean but if you haven't, suffice it to say that John uses light a bit too broadly and the results tend to look weaker than someone like myself enjoys. The grain and lens flare bugged me although there was enough heat to cover up my personal dislike of the style for the most part. There were some compression artifacts here as well as video noise on occasion but you won't likely notice it often. The audio was presented in the usual stereo English with little separation and limited dynamic range but plenty of quality to hear the moans & groans the gals were making as they readily took the hardcore action. Gonzo porn is rarely a place for the audio to shine and this release was no exception.

Body of Review: John Leslie has long been known in the porn world as something of a driving force, even before he became one of the directors at Evil Angel. He brings some of the old school charm to porn that most of the younger audience sadly missed out on and that's yet another reason to check out some of his movies made back in the late 1970's. Regardless, one of his most popular series has released yet another volume, The Voyeur 30: Bookmark The Ass!, and it was a fine example of the classic peeping tom approach to porn. I know point of view (POV) is growing in popularity and the standard close up with various medium shots style will never go completely out of style but this viewpoint has a lot to offer too. For all of you that have enjoyed this series in the past, as well as those that just haven't watched one yet, here's a breakdown of the scenes much like the one provided for Volume 29 a few months ago, noting that no condoms were used here:

Scene One: Victoria Swinger, a curvy blonde as featured on the right hand side of the front DVD cover (the large picture on the front cover), began the scene by getting her mail in a form fitting red dress. She was joined by Lauro Giotto on a couch inside on the second floor (allowing some nice tease of her covered backside) and it wasn't long before she was inhaling his meat pipe as if it were her favorite toy in the world. Sadly, he left her hanging after the oral and a titty fuck and she was very upset at the loss. I liked how she began masturbating after that, especially dry humping the edge of the sofa (Wow was that hot!!!), but studly Mick Blue took over soon after and did her very heatedly. They did vaginal and anal after the oral and Lauro rejoined the action for the DP and facial finish. There was a lot of chemistry between them and the energy levels were consistently solid.

Scene Two: Jessica Fiorentino and Sarah, a couple of lean cuties (though only Jessica was shown on the front DVD cover; upper left hand side), were dressed like stripper maids as they walked over to studly Leslie Taylor on the balcony of a large building. They orally took care of him and gave some titty fucking action to his penis before opening up their other orifices for his boning needs. They did some taste testing of the cock and the action was passionate most of the time even if the technical matters looked weaker than average for the series (lighting, glare, shadows). The anal and vaginal sex was well done though and even young Neeo got a little action in the courtyard by Sarah with the other couple coming down to meet them. In all, they weren't my favorite eye candy but the sex was great.

Scene Three: Sandra Romain, a dark haired vixen in red lingerie started off the following scene by primping in front of a large mirror, showcasing her sweet ass and naturally awesome breasts. She's located on the upper middle of the front DVD cover and you can see why I like her look but that picture doesn't do her ass any justice at all. After some very solid tease footage, she took on both Jon Dough and Billy Glide; a couple of porn puppets I'm not used to seeing in an Evil Angel release. The sex was very well handled here too as the trio managed to suck and fuck in just about every standard position, ending with some DP footage and her cleaning off each cock (PTM and ATM) as though they were candy for the licking. I'll admit I didn't see a lot of chemistry here but they were so into the action of the performance that I doubt many of you will care given the energy levels present. I'm not a big fan of facials but they did a good job of coating her face at the finish.

Scene Four: Tera Joy, (not to be mistaken for contract starlet Tera Patrick), an attractive brunette with an exotic look surpassing many foreign bred porn gals, and the blonde & lovely Nikki Nun, (on the lower left hand side of the front DVD cover), were up next to give Neeo the ride of his life. He was walking with Nikki in the midday sun when they walked into a home containing Tera. The gals practically jumped him for that meat sausage of his and while they did manage to spend some time on each other, that was clearly secondary in their minds. He took their pussies and asses with some solid hammering action and the gals ended by swapping semen deposited on their faces (they were very energetic throughout the scene and displayed many forms of oral pleasuring for those who care).

Scene Five: Dana Vespoli, the hotty in the blue bikini on the lower right hand corner of the front DVD cover, was up last in a scene not found on the tape version of the movie. Those of you who ever needed a reason to get a DVD player can rest assured that the scene was top notch with top tang and after a bit of tease with some masturbation tossed in, Michael Stefano joined this babe on the living room couch. The scene was limited compared to some of the others here in terms of what took place (fans of anal sex will get more pleasure from the earlier scenes) and the technical matters here looked almost as if the scene was shot with a low end home camera, but she took to him with a chemistry reserved only for those truly into one another and the scene shined in most ways for me.

Summary: The Voyeur 30: Bookmark The Ass!: was another solid chapter in this long running series and even a bit more heated in some ways than volumes I've reviewed in the past. While the technical matters were not up to my personal standard, the passionate sex and lovely cast of hot women made this a title I felt comfortable rating as Highly Recommended. The variety of settings, action, and even pacing made this an attempt on director Leslie's part to expand his sphere of sexual depravity just enough to breath some fresh air into the stalwart series, making it well worth your hard earned dollars. In short, The Voyeur 30: Bookmark The Ass!, provided some great fuck for the buck with John's usual eye for what works on the libido of men everywhere. Maybe someday, Evil Angel will offer a collector's set of the entire series (or maybe just in parts, like ten volumes apiece) for a good price like Private has been doing. If they do, I know I'll be first in line to scoop up the numerous volumes I've missed over the years. In all though, aside from some spit and polish need on the technical matters, I can see why so many people enjoy this one; good work!
