Extra's: The best extra was the 34.5 minutes of bonus footage. The majority of it was centered on Tiffany Mynx (a great decision in my opinion) having all kinds of wild sex and the rest of it was a blowjob scene by two newcomers, Taryn Thomas (from Arizona) and Alektra (from Texas; a stripper from Houston IIRC). This was a value adding extra in my book as it gave even more heated footage for your hard earned dollar. There was also a cumshot recap, a photogallery, some trailers and a double sided DVD cover (although side 2 was an advertising cover).

Audio/Video Quality: Anal Romance 2 was presented in the same 1.33:1 ratio full frame color it was shot in by director Steve Holmes for distribution by Platinum X Pictures. The colors were accurate, the grain minimal and the scenes were shot with some attention to making the gals look good under the sometimes harsh lighting needed to provide the best picture. I appreciate it when the cameraman (in this case, cameramen) pay attention to the action and move to get the best footage possible while keeping the compositional aspects in mind as done here. The DVD had no compression artifacts that I could see and any other visual flaws were so insignificant as to pass by me without care. The stereo audio was about as basic as ever, relying more on visuals to get the job done than anything else, but I could hear the vocals and the beginning of the scenes had some pleasant piano music to set the stage (why can't hardcore gonzo be both romantic and blazing hot at the same time?).

Body of Review: Platinum X Pictures is usually referred to as the rougher edged brother company to Red Light District for the types of sex they deal in. For the record, that means lots of anal, lots of gapes, gagging oral, choking, and all the circus act sex you could imagine. The company's representatives make no bones about it; they aren't trying to cater to the couples market or the faint of heart, they're going for the outer edge of the raincoater crowd. While sometimes less stylish than companies like Evil Angel, their production values tend to be among the very best these days (better than Evil Angel for that matter) and the DVD format is well served by their directors attention to detail. The company has now broken through another milestone in its existence with the release of the release of its 151st movie, Anal Romance 2, by director/performer Steve Holmes. Much like his Anal Romance 1, the show centered on gals willing to take anal sex with a smile, and do so with a bit more passion on average than you'll find with many of their competitors. If this sounds like what you're looking for, read the following breakdowns of the scenes by cast and action, noting that no condoms were used and most of the guys got some extra oral, if you catch my drift:

Scene One: Michelle Banks, a lean brunette with a shaved crotch and great big DSLs, was up first as she masturbated on a couch while piano music played. She wore a black and pink outfit but it did little for her so partner Steve Holmes soon had her out of it. The chemistry was very solid here as was the energy levels (as expected) with each of these heavyweight performers showing why they are so fondly regarded by the masses. There are those who would argue that she is past her prime but I'm sure not one of them as her skills at milking a nut were the best of the bunch here. Scene Three: Haley Paige, a very attractive gal that contrasted Tiffany by virtue of her age (only), started off by smoking a cigarette as she masturbated outside, only to take the show inside to sit on the face of director Steve Holmes. She's a cutie more than a hotty like Tiffany Mynx but some of you would prefer youth over skill and I can understand why. The two had some oral and while it wasn't anything special, it set the stage for the boning of her pussy and ass that took place later. He did most of the work this time but it still had some minor energy and fans will appreciate that she did some ATM and eventually warmed up for some better action. I wasn't too keen on her nearly passing out as he choked her or how he rubbed out the load to her chest after some heated oral (I prefer it when the gal finishes off the guy) but it wasn't a bad scene (just somewhat limited compared to other scenes she's been in).

Scene Four: Tiffany Hopkins, a lean brunette with a natural rack and warm smile, was up next with Erik Everhard in an outdoor hot tub. The two passionately kissed before he snacked on her crack and she reciprocated with an okay blowjob before they took the show inside. The primary emphasis after that was on anal with her giving a sweaty and vocal performance as he slammed her holes and spanked her. She wasn't the most energetic gal of the bunch but she did manage to ride him pretty hard as he hammered away at her. The sex was energetic but it lacked a sense of chemistry I'm used to seeing with Erik's performances so it wasn't my favorite of the show either. Scene Five: Isabelle Ice, a gal with lighter colored hair and some sweet curves, danced around in a yellow dress to start off the last scene. Steve Holmes took her for his very own as he seemed to savor her all natural body in the living room. Her eyes were exceptionally pretty but so was her body and he took charge by going down on her all over. Her blowjob was less engaging than his oral but she eventually made up for it by rimming him and doing other oral tricks (like ATM) in between the scenes of him driving his dick deep inside her. He seemed to prefer her ass although I thought her pussy looked pretty good too and the rougher aspects of sex were covered (choking with a belt and spanking) too. He threw in some foot fetish action by jerking off with her feet but it ended as expected with him jerking out a load after some ATM that she swallowed down easily. This scene had more chemistry than some of the others and it didn't short change the viewer on energy either.

Summary: Anal Romance 2 provided a viewing experience that had heat, chemistry, and a flair for the dramatic at times with these one on one scenes by director Steve Holmes. If every scene had been as passionate and fulfilling as Tiffany Mynx's work, I'd be rating it as a Collector Series but that would be a tough one to make (there are only a few gals in porn rivaling her skill in an anal scene) so I'll give this one a very reasonable Recommended for the way the cast interacted, the amount of fuck for the buck and the high end technical values. In short, Anal Romance 2 was worthy of the directorial skills of Steve Holmes and the fine folks at Platinum X Pictures. While some of the scenes could've used some extra work, the overall quality was well worth your time and money.
