Extra's: The primary extras were all contained on the second disc of this two DVD set; lasting just under 60 minutes (59 minutes and 40 seconds for those who care). Most of this consisted of some form of Behind the Scenes footage as shot by former performer, Tina Tyler, a gal known to milk a nut or two in her heyday. In order as listed on the DVD: The Making of XXX5, The Box Cover Shoot, Lori Alexia Shoot, Nomi and Jazmine Shoot, the Michelle B. Shoot, the Lex Sex Mobile (where Cashmere gives some extra loving to David Perry and Robert Rosenberg in the back seat of the moving car), the Cashmere Shoot, some footage of Lexington himself, the Roxanne shoot, and some time at the Zurich 2004 Adult Video Convention. I thought the extra footage was interesting and added a lot of value to the DVD set, even if some more editing might've improved it a bit. There was also a double sided DVD cover with the second side being advertising of other releases by Mercenary Pictures, some trailers, a photogallery and a fetish menu on the first disc.

Audio/Video Quality: Lex Steele XXX 5 was presented in the usual 1.33:1 ratio full framed color as originally shot by director Lexington Steele for his company Mercenary Pictures. The colors were accurate, the lighting decent, and the grain minimal with some attention paid to the composition of the scenes. The overall visuals flattered the cast and there did not appear to be any compression artifacts or video noise during the movie. The stereo English soundtrack was a little uneven but there was some separation between the channels and a bit better dynamic range than earlier volumes in the series.

Body of Review: When asked who the man with the plan is, most people will say Shaft but I know differently. The real answer to the question is Lexington Steele. Whatever else has been said about him, the man has been a highly capable performer and his latest release on Mercenary Pictures, Lex Steele XXX 5: Magnum Edition, proves my point nicely. The movie is much like Volume 4 except the technical values and diverse cast all managed to add some distinctive points in my book. I know some of the critics blindly lash out at the smaller companies for whatever reasons but the bottom-line here is that the cast all managed to offer up some nice footage for your stroking value. If this sounds like something you want to see, here's a breakdown of the scenes by cast and action:

Scene One: Roxanne Hall, one of the superstars of yesteryear in porn, showed she still had some moves left as she teased the camera wearing the same type of fetish outfit she did on the right side of the front DVD cover (this one was black though with red fishnet stockings) as she pranced through the kitchen of Lex's large house carrying a flogger. Lexington Steele, the dark prince of porn himself, was her partner for the scene so I knew she'd be tested to her limits like never before. After warming up with a replica, she took on the real thing before he went down on her and started boning after that. Her savage grunts and thrusts towards him indicated that she wanted more and he gave her it all (we're talking balls deep folks) until it was time to do the anal. It's not every day that you get to see Lex get a workout like this and she seemed barely able to handle how deeply he went but all her signs indicated it was good for her too. With chemistry and energy to spare, she took the facial well, savoring every drop. Wow!

Scene Two: Cashmere, also known as "Jasmine Cashmere", wore a blue fishnet body stocking to help prop up her sagging breasts but her attitude and ass were both pretty heated so I gave her a pass on the weaknesses of her looks in order to focus on her action with Robert Rosenberg and David Perry that had started on the ride over to the house (see it in the BTS feature where Tina Tyler pleads for her to not mess up her makeup). Robert got some oral first and while Cashmere wasn't the best looking gal of the movie, she could sure suck a dick well and David was quick to get in on it too. They left the hallway for the bed and the screwing was very passionate, even if she didn't do anal. The energy here was very high scale and I liked the scene even with its flaws.

Scene Three: Jasmine, a curvy hotty dressed in a red vinyl outfit, spouted Spanish as she teased the camera with her body. Nomi, a slightly harsh looking blonde wearing a chain outfit on her all natural frame to go with her fishnet stockings, was less easily heard but her body language said it all; she wanted to fuck (and fuck hard!). The males for the scene were Marco Duato and Lexington Steele; Lex taking Nomi with Marco took the Latina before swapping out. The oral was solid and the screwing invoked images of warmth and heat with both gals getting vaginal and anal from both guys. Nomi was the more energetic of the two but Jasmine was the most vocal in this chemistry filled scene (fans will like the facials and taste testing that went on but the main selling point will be the way the gals aggressively fucked back as the dicks were slamming into them).

Scene Four: Lori Alexia, a short black gal with the body of a gymnast, began her scene outside in the midday sun wearing a red and black fetish outfit as she readied herself for the coming action. I'd love to see her and Cherokee (the short white gal with the squeaky voice) go at one another in a gym-nasty competition, but David Perry and Alec Knight did a good job with her too inside the house. The sex was oral and straight with all three of them having a lot of fun although I got the impression that David was pissed off because he couldn't tap her ass. It ended with the guys jerking off loads to her face that she didn't shy away from. MMMMMMMM.

Scene Five: Michelle B., the blonde hotty sitting down on the front DVD cover, is another gal known for her energetic performances and lack of sexual limits. Her fetish ware looked good on her as she dominated Marco Duato with the threat of her flogger. After teasing him enough to make most men pop, she blew him with vigor which he responded to by sucking her breasts and spanking her with increasing hardness (as she asked of him). He then tore her outfit apart to get to her pussy and ass, licking her crotch as though he were a working a lifeline on the moon. Summary: Lex Steele XXX 5: Magnum Edition was another feather in the cap of the dark prince of porn and as such merited a rating of Highly Recommended for the cast, the extras, and the upper tier production values. I'm sure some people will hate it (probably because they'd rather be watching Oprah or gay porn) but the combination of a great cast, decent technical values, and passion in spades (no pun intended), made for a lot of replay value to go along with the tremendous amount of fuck for the buck offered up in the set. Fans of interracial, gonzo, and well made movies will appreciate this one a lot more than I probably can (being so jaded and all) but this was probably the flagship title of the company and earned these accolades.
