Extra's: My favorite extra was the nearly 19.5 minute long Behind the Scenes feature by Hot Rod Hank since it was shot exclusively for the DVD but I'm sure many of you will like the older bonus scenes included even more (three with Tawny Roberts in them and two others to pad out the set) There were also two photogalleries, a short biography of Tawny Roberts, a positions room, some trailers, a double sided DVD cover and the usual forced spam at the front of the DVD.

Audio/Video Quality: Glamazon was presented in the standard 1.33:1 ratio full frame color as shot by director Chi Chi LaRue for Vivid Entertainment. There was a bit of grain due to atmospheric lighting and the colors looked too saturated for my tastes but the action was often quite good this time. The camera angles and shot compositions could not have been more flattering to the gals and this helped my enjoyment of the scenes. I saw some compression artifacts and video noise this time but if you enjoy decent sex scenes made for couples, you probably won't care too much about it. The stereo audio was presented with some minor dynamic range and separation between the channels but it was often hollow and the vocals seemed distant (if not dubbed). The music ranged from pretty decent to really bad although I'd have preferred an option for turning off the music altogether.

Body of Review: Anyone familiar with director Chi Chi LaRue, will know that he has something of an eye for a balanced scene (often ruined by poor editing though) as he seems more at home watching men in action than most directors. Some times, this works in his favor and other times it detracts from the sex (as a man I see things differently than women who might enjoy his style more) but either way, it is easy to see why he has his hands full directing porn these days. His latest release on DVD is Glamazon, a vignette driven movie that seems to combine the terms "glamour" and "Amazon" as the show is set up to showcase the lovely Tawny Roberts fantasizing about the good old days of movies and the romance angle so often missing in porn. I liked the movie and think a great many of you will find this a solid compromise between the usual Vivid fare (couples only) and something slightly harder in terms of action but here's a breakdown of the scenes by cast and action to give you an idea of what took place:

Scene One: Tawny & Tommy's Theatrical Tango: Tawny Roberts, the blonde on the front of the DVD cover, was up first in a movie theater with muscular Tommy Gunn. The two were watching the movie and then he made his clumsy move by stretching his arm out. She seemed to enjoy his company, especially since he started rubbing her through her jeans, and he followed up by going down on her. I've never thought of her as being very orally talented but she seems to have picked up a new trick or two as evidenced by the way she energetically slobbed his knob as a follow up. From the no hands approach to the jerking off of his member as she blew him, it looked very heated from my point of view and it led, of course, to the vaginal screwing. She was in pretty good form there too and then ended it by jerking out his load onto her implants.

Scene Two: Girl Band Gang Bang: Alexis Malone, a sultry blonde, and Melissa Lauren, sporting dark hair with red highlights, were up next in a scene in a little flat with Mick Blue and Manuel Ferrara. The gals played rock stars and the guys were their groupies with all four of them doing a solid job of giving and getting some action. The gals were especially talented with oral sex (maybe they took lessons from Chi Chi) and the energetic oral was followed by some similar vaginal screwing. The gals took every opportunity to do some lesbian licking during the screwing and the scene even had a DP (on Melissa) before the facials. It wasn't the most extreme gonzo scene I've watched, and I didn't like how the gals seemed to be playing up to the camera, but it was a very solid scene in most ways.

Scene Three: A Card From A Man Gets Him In Monique's Bush: Monique Alexander, now in full swing with Vivid as their latest contract starlet, had a scene in the kitchen with tall, dark and handsome Marco Duato as they looked like they were coming home from a big night on the town. It began with some warmish foreplay (I still hated the droning music though) and then the two going down on one another. It seemed to be less frantic than the last scene but more in tune with the couples driven scenes Vivid shoots for; displaying more chemistry than the other scenes in the movie. It was oral and straight only but I thought it had some serious replay value.

Scene Four: Katie & TJ's Plaything: TJ Hart, an older but still very attractive blonde, younger and cuter Katie Morgan, and Jack Lawrence, were up next in a scene that looked like it came out of a 1960's hippie movie for all the psychedelic images on the wall. Katie was up first with him as the two did oral but TJ added something special to the proceeding (as she always seems to do). Each gal took some meat in her pussy with the other gal assisting along the way and I thought the trio was very much into one another throughout the action. It ended when he rubbed out a load onto their chests and the gals kissed one another.

Scene Five: Tawny & Eric's Dressing Room Romp: Tawny Roberts and Eric Masterson, both dressed up to the hilt in formal ware, were last up in this vignette driven show. It began slowly and with the kind of tempo that Chi Chi has rarely shown (a fact throughout the movie I might add), impressing me with the manner in which the action evolved slowly rather than if set to an egg timer (which has been one of my biggest complaints about Vivid's past releases). While it was oral and straight only, I think it was well done and showed a pacing that indicated some nice chemistry to me.

Summary: Glamazon was worth a rating of Recommended or better since it captured a sense of heat and chemistry often missing in the features released by Vivid's various directors. The technical values could've used more work (I'd rather they drop the bonus scenes if that'll improve the visuals) but the amount of fuck for the buck seemed to be much greater than what I expected going into this one. The cast was all very attractive (at least the gals were) and seemed to appreciate working with one another; showing critics that Chi Chi LaRue can make a winner when he tries. If his work is going to be this solid in the future, I suspect I'll be giving higher ratings in no time. Check it out if you aren't addicted to circus act sex but want more foreplay and duration in your sex scenes than Vivid has provided in the past.
