Audio/Video Quality: Hell On Heels was presented in the same stylish 1.33:1 ratio full frame color it was shot in by director Brad Armstrong for Wicked Pictures. When first released, it was among the best looking adult DVDs on the market and to this day it looks exceptionally clear and crisp. There were no compression artifacts and none of the video noise that similar projects at lesser companies seem fraught with. There was a lot of grain in some of the darker scenes though, although less than you'll see in most Vivid releases (even current ones), but if you like Jenna, you won't mind as much. The MTV style editing wasn't my favorite approach but taken in small doses, it worked far better than more recent efforts have done. The stereo audio was also good but only if you don't mind the decision to play up the music over the vocals. Don't get me wrong, there were vocals but they seemed to be dubbed in rather than the original moans and groans of the cast. Otherwise, the music seemed to fit the scenes more than usual in the production of the vignettes.

Body of Review: Upon revisiting older titles I had long left behind, sometimes I come across a title that repeatedly worked for me on several levels. One such title was Wicked Picture's Hell On Heels, a series of lesbian vignettes starring the incredibly sexy Jenna Jameson. Here's what I said so long ago when I reviewed it: "This movie was a comeback of sorts for Jenna Jameson who took a leave of absence from the industry for awhile. It is all woman with absolutely no men so if seeing some of the most beautiful women in the world having sex isn't what you want-go elsewhere. Jenna is in every scene and there is a lot of fetish material here for those particularly interested in that stuff. The sex includes everything you'd expect in an all woman, wall to wall, porn DVD. It had lesbian, multiple partners, toys (lots of great toys), fetish wear, anal, rimming and fingering." Please forgive any grammatical errors as I wanted to keep the original energy of my review alive, noting that watching the DVD again this weekend, I found it better than Jenna's recent outings for Club Jenna, and it had a similar approach in that Jenna had come off a sabbatical and wasn't doing men at the time either (just like now unless you count her husband):

Scene One: The first scene has Jenna with Sterling and Emily as pony girls. The editing here, as in most of the scenes, is MTV style with quick cuts and wild camera angles. At times, the action is displayed in slow motion as well. Emily claimed that this was her first anal scene too.

Scene Two: The second scene has Jenna Jameson with Stephanie Swift and Felecia, all dressed as angels (wings and all). We see less action with Stephanie as she was nursing a nose job per Brad's commentary. They all looked good and all had fun as will anyone watching them lick and suck one another off.

Scene Three: The next scene had Nikki Tyler and Sydnee Steele joining Jenna Jameson for a bit of S&M play. Sydnee was bound with a straitjacket and the other two played around before letting her join them. This scene is hampered a bit by the extra grain that Brad allows in the picture but it is still very warm.

Scene Four: The fourth scene had Jenna Jameson as Nikki Tyler's creation ala Frankenstein's monster. The set was fabulous and added a lot to the fun as Jenna awakens in the loving arms of Dr Nikki. The two generated a lot of sexual heat in this scene, something a lot of lipstick lesbians simply don't, or can't, provide since these two were very much into doing one another.

Scene Five: The fifth scene has Nikki Tyler (she was a long time girlfriend of Jenna's, which is why she got so much airtime here) and Felecia with Jenna in a sort of period piece involving corsets and old style clothing. All three women have huge followings in the adult business so this is the best of all worlds for many of us. This scene was also hampered a bit by a grainy picture. However, there isn't enough grain in the world that could lessen these three together.

Scene Six: The next scene had Jenna tied up and at Asia's whim. Asia is dressed as a modern day geisha and slowly unties Jenna as she plays with her. This scene is a personal favorite and looks the best with regard to the video quality.

Scene Seven: The last scene was a science fiction take off with Shayla and Jenna dressed up something like Borg's from Star Trek. The music is techno and the lighting looks like modern dance clubs. All in all, it was perfectly suited for the two of them. They seemed very comfortable in the surroundings although Brad tells us otherwise on his commentary track. Perhaps it was the miracle of acting and editing that saved the day but I'm not complaining.

Summary: If you like Jenna or all woman sex, you simply won't go wrong here.
This was a showcase for Jenna Jameson and you'll get to see her in a variety of different situations and positions. My biggest gripe with this one is the grain in the picture. Given how hot the sex and women are-that is a fairly minor complaint. The extras were top notch too. Brad's commentary was a bit sparse this time (unlike his almost non stop talking on the Flashpoint DVD) but he did add a lot of value to the show for those wanting a so-called insider scoop. I wish that Jenna could have been on the track as well but I believe that she had left Wicked Pictures (or at least Brad, her then former husband) at the time so it's understandable that she didn't participate. This seems to be a common theme on commentary tracks-if a DVD has one, it is either the actors or the production crew but not some of each (updated note: this aspect changed over the years as Wicked Pictures took the hint and combined the two in later commentary tracks). This seems like a good area to improve-especially on an all Jenna Jameson DVD like this one. Brad certainly gives us insight into the movie but imagine how much more we could have learned from Jenna. Whatever the case, I thought the DVD earned a spot on my Highly Recommended list due to the replay value, the amount of Jenna in the scenes, and the combination of technical and aesthetic wizardry that was used to make everyone look so good as they all had an energetically good time.
