Extra's: There was a standard set of Vivid Entertainment features here (for better or worse) with the best extra being a 15 minute long Behind the Scenes feature. It was made specifically for this movie, which I originally thought was a compilation. It had some interview footage, extra nudity, and the chaos that ensues on a movie set so it was fun to watch. There were five bonus scenes but none of them starred Lexie Marie since she hasn't made many scenes for Vivid yet (so that kind of sucked in a bad way). There was also the usual set of trailers, two photogalleries, a short biography of Lexie Marie, a double sided DVD cover, positions room, and forced spam at the front of the DVD itself too.

Audio/Video Quality: Extreme Close Up: Lexie was presented in the usual 1.33.1 ratio full frame color as originally shot by director Paul Thomas for Vivid Entertainment. The interview portions of the movie looked really clear when they were, as the title suggests, extremely close up. During the sex scenes though, this clarity seemed a bit out the window with some grain, light video noise, and shadows present throughout them. I saw no compression artifacts and the light moiré wasn't that bad (even at its worst) but the visual composition of the scenes wasn't all that solid either so the picture elements could've been better. The audio was presented in the standard stereo English with no discernable separation between the channels and a limited dynamic range. It wasn't bad but it wasn't anything you'd care to mention to friends either. This is an area that most porn production companies could easily enhance if they wanted to so I await the day when droning music as presented here is excised from the adult entertainment world.

Body of Review: Vivid is probably the largest producer of pornography in the world these days. As such, they tend to focus more on the lighter aspects of porn, making movies for couples rather than showcase the popular circus act sex as some of you prefer. This isn't a bad thing since it gives a nice doorway to porn for those new to watching it (I watched a lot of Ginger Lynn Allen movies when the company was new). One aspect of Vivid that most people are aware of is their contract performer system that locks up gals into contracts of varying lengths, sometimes for years and other times for a set number of movies. One of their newest performers under this system is the attractive gal from Sacramento, Lexie Marie. New to Vivid, she has but a handful of movies under her belt with the latest being Extreme Close Up: Lexie, what I originally thought would be a very short compilation of her work (as other Vivid ECU releases have been) but it turned out to have a few new scenes of her, making it a good movie for her fans. That said, here's a look at the scenes by cast and actions, noting that health protecting condoms were used throughout the scenes:

Scene One: Lexie Marie, the cute gal with blonde highlights from the front DVD cover, was up first in an empty room (except for her small chair) with red walls, wearing a black fishnet top with light blue straps. She began with a short interview about being in porn for only eight months and needing to overcome her fear of working with men. Her partner was the mighty Evan Stone, arguably one of the top studs in the jizz biz at this time. He went down on her, got a decent blowjob from her, and teased her a little to get her desire for him peaking. At one point in the oral and straight scene, she seemed lost as he boned her in that leopard print chair. The reddish visual elements of the picture (from the light off the wall) did a decent job of hiding the condom (you won't notice it as rapid speed) but I'd prefer better lighting in the future. It ended when he jerked off to her face and chest, showing some chemistry together much of the scene.

Scene Two: Lexie Marie, dressed in a very hot red cheerleader outfit with matching underwear, was up next with wimpy looking Trent Tesoro, a guy that could use some quality time in the gym with Evan Stone, Tommy Gunn, or maybe Brian Surewood, in a scene taking place in a large shower for such a gym (by the looks of it). She posed a bit but he was on her like white (boy) on rice, eventually fingering her to warm her up a little bit. She barely had time to taste his penis when the two were boning away in a pleasantly appealing standing doggy that really worked for her in terms of visual heat. They moved to the floor and a bench, with her aggressively pumping back as he thrust inside her, though the condom stood out like a sore thumb this time. In all, the scene will please Lexie's fans but I suspect she'll get even better with time. For the record, he jerked off on her stomach to close out the scene.

Scene Three: Monique Alexander, another gal new to Vivid (and seemingly to men) differs from Lexie in how lean she is but she's still a cutie. She had a lesbian scene with attractive brunette Bobbi Bliss in a poorly lit hallway, with the two of them licking and rubbing one another for a limited amount of time. I liked the kissing since it led me to accept that they both liked women but the toy use seemed really mechanical as they gave the usual fake moans for the camera more than anything else.

Scene Four: Alexis Malone, a gal that looks a bit like Jill Kelly used to, was up next on a staircase with Jerry, wearing a sailor cap and flimsy dress with nice white underwear to accentuate her sweet ass and small breasts. They did oral together and her sexual skill was easily the best of the movie with the practiced ease of a champion. Jerry did a pretty good job too, likely because of who he got to work with, as he went down on her like a seasoned veteran. The moved the vaginal boning to the dinning room (probably for safety purposes) and she was more energetic than her colleagues with him enjoying the ride as much as I would have. He rubbed out a load to her lovely face and she sucked him clean to finish up a decent scene.

Scene Five: Lexie Marie, after discussing the limitations of lesbian sex and toys, told the camera that doing men was "more better" and described what she liked before having the final scene with muscular Tommy Gunn and pretty boy Jean Val Jean. The setting was a large bathroom in a house and she wore a black & purple set of standard lingerie (bra and panties) as she rubbed lotion on her lean figure (much like you probably will except hers was all over her body rather than in one relatively small spot in her lap). She moved to the larger living room and gave the guys a striptease act before they started working her over. I liked the tease footage as much as anything else she did in the movie, wishing it lasted much longer in fact, but the standard oral and vaginal screwing came after that. Lexie has a lot of untapped potential that I hope some of the Vivid directors can bring out of her but the actual sex portion of this one was lacking once the tease was through (I did like the way she jerked them off on her chest but the mechanical nature of the screwing vaginal sex didn't do a lot for me).

Summary: Extreme Close Up: Lexie was probably best for those of you that really like watching Lexie Marie (duh!) in action although general fans of Vivid's movies will likely find enough worth watching here too. Sadly, since it was so short in length and contained no bonus scenes of Lexie in action, I have to rate this as a decent Rent It as there wasn't much fuck for the buck compared to other Vivid releases focusing on a particular contract gal. If they had made this movie a year or two from now, that wouldn't have been a problem since the company would have more scenes to work with, irritating me more than a little bit that Lexie's showcase movie to date was made for a quick buck.
