Extra's: The best extra by far was the inclusion of a 33 minute long Behind the Scenes feature. I see a lot of these so one really has to provide some top notch thrills to elevate itself above the pack. Thankfully, this one started off with Tiffany Mynx teasing the cameraman, moved to Gia Paloma in a sex scene, and continued through to cover most of the cast and crew on one level or another. There was also the usual slide show, some trailers, and commercials for Hustler but the BTS feature was well done enough to get a decent rating all by itself (considering that the movie itself was so long, this really added some value too!).

Audio/Video Quality: Ass Appeal 2 was presented in non-anamorphic widescreen color with an approximate aspect ratio of 1.85:1 as originally shot by director Van Styles for Hustler Video. I've found a lot of Hustler releases to be pleasant and fun but rarely ball draining in nature so the minor issues I had with the picture didn't bother me much at all. The colors were slightly muted/faded and there was some grain but the lighting was decent, the composition of the shots enhanced the look of the cast, and there were no compression artifacts to be found on this lengthy DVD release. A bit more work and I could see it beating out releases by top level gonzo companies so I hope Van takes the time to push the envelop just a bit more in this area. The audio was presented in stereo English with limited separation between the channels and the kind of dynamic range you'd expect of a gonzo release (not great but not terrible either). The music between the scenes was cheesy and unnecessary but some of you might like to hear it (the deaf crowd perhaps) so I won't fuss too loudly.

Body of Review: In all my reviewing of Hustler DVDs over the years, I've found that while they have some decent looking gals, the sex itself is hardly the kind of cutting edge material I'd expect of a company founded by one of the great pornographers of all time, Larry Flynt. I used to read his magazine (yeah, I read it as well as looked at the hardcore-for the times-pictures) when he first started so I know his minions are capable of providing equally hardcore smut now that the world has caught up to his vision. Sadly, as decent as some of his movies have been, they often lack the spark needed to set them above the pack, providing a good, but not great, set of scenes to enjoy. Thankfully, someone has listened to our appeals and their latest release, Ass Appeal 2, has really proven they have the vision to compete. Directed by skilled Van Styles, the movie showcased a series of increasingly heated scenes that involved anal and some of the best gals in the jizz biz as they did it all, including anal, for your viewing pleasure. I've enjoyed anal from a host of other companies and Van seemed to be on top of his game with this one so here's a quick look at the scenes for you to decide if this one's for you, or if you're too tame to enjoy it:

Scene One: Aidan Layne, the gal located on the upper right hand side of the front DVD cover, began the movie handcuffed to the banister in her skimpy little outfit, apparently looking for someone to save her. After a bit of nice camera work that showcased her firm young body, Kurt Lockwood, walked in to find her talking to the POV director asking her some questions. Her ass looked very firm, as only a young gal's ass can be, and Kurt rubbed her with a small flogger to enhance the tease footage (with limited flogging). Her oral was decent, if unexceptional, but her strong point was definitely the manner in which she took him anally (her vaginal work was too submissive and he did all the work). The gal has some nice potential that I think wasn't exactly hit on here but the facial was okay and she sort of did some finishing ATM (shying away at the last moment) so she may well appeal to you too.

Scene Two: Jayna Oso, looking much like Cleopatra in lingerie as she did on the front cover's lower right hand side, was up next in the same outfit she wore there. I wasn't keen on the electrical tape on her breasts and her breasts seem to have disappeared since I last saw her but what a great ass she had to make up for it! The tease footage alone was well done and her passionate pouncing with studly Mark Wood and wimpy Scotty Lyons, was better on technical merits than Aidan's scene discussed above. They drove it home into both her holes with some solid oral before the vaginal and anal, culminating in a powerful DP (double penetration). Fans of choking will appreciate that she seemed to get off on it here and her throaty vocals elevated the heat a fair amount. If you want to see a passionate scene with some chemistry, this wouldn't be a bad choice,

Scene Three: Gia Paloma, wearing her current bleach blond look as shown on the upper left hand side of the front DVD cover, was up next in a scene with lucky Kurt Lockwood. What the cover doesn't show is her very hot looking fishnet body stocking that shaped her ass very nicely or the ball gag she wore while waiting for Kurt to join her on a high tech lounge chair inside the house. Kurt used a leather riding crop on her body, which seemed to excite her more than a little bit, before she gave him the best head of the entire movie. The two then boned in various positions, both vaginally and anally, showing gapes from each as she aggressively fucked back with his pumping action. If there was to be a better scene than this on the DVD, I would be extremely surprised (I've long appreciated her driven style but she's not exactly my top gal of the moment). There was also taste testing before it ended with her being tied up again and tickled with some slapping and a facial to boot. Wow!

Scene Four: Olivia O'Lovely and Ice La Fox, the two gals featured on the dead center of the front DVD cover with the nearly perfect asses and great smiles, were up next in a scene that rivaled Gia's before it. After they teased for a long time, they played well with one another before being joined by the infamous Kurt Lockwood on a bed. They shared him in numerous ways, doing some taste testing (PTM, PTOGM, ATM, ATOGM) and other kinky tricks along the way. I've long appreciated Olivia but Ice won out this time since Olivia needed some time in the gym to tone up (the back of her legs in particular) yet to say either was lacking significantly would be a mistake. It ended with him rubbing out a load onto Ice and Olivia licking it up in another very well done scene. Yum!

Scene Five: Tiffany Mynx, one of the true legends of porn, particularly anal porn and gonzo, was up last in a scene with Mr. Pete and Mark Wood. Anyone who has seen her work, particularly for Evil Angel, knows that there's a reason fans go crazy for her work; the gal's smoking hot and as sexually gifted as you'll find in porn! Her tease footage was pleasing to me and her picture on the lower left hand side of the front DVD cover seemed almost innocent compared to her reputation in the industry, with her now red hair nearly touching her curvy, sweet ass. Those who prefer seeing 18 year old gals stumble through a scene with a measure of disgust should check out this gal who puts them ALL to shame (and I do mean all!) for the way she throws herself into a scene and doesn't let go until she's satisfied. There was more of the barrister sex as she handily blew them but her passion, her reason for being in the movie, was not the splendid oral she gave so much as the powerful performance of her taking all they had to offer with her usual drive and gusto. Vaginal? She had it covered! Anal? Covered with a flair few will ever see in person during their lifetime. It had, of course, a DP (double penetration) and some slapping with her yelling for more but as much as I liked some of the other scenes, this one was tops here for everything she provided, including the way she swallowed all they plopped in and around her mouth. Whew!

Summary: Ass Appeal 2 was one I can say earned every bit of a Highly Recommended and nearly pulled off the top honors for the great cast, the terrific energy and heat, and the decent, if imperfect technical values. Lastly nearly three full hours and containing a cool Behind the Scenes feature on top of that, the amount of fuck for the buck was as good as you have a right to expect these days, and on par with just about anything you'll find from Red Light District or Evil Angel (with limited exceptions). If this DVD doesn't last you a long time in terms of stroke value, you really need to get out more and find a live gal since you're completely burned out or in need of a life change since Ass Appeal 2 will appeal to almost anyone I could think of. In all, if this is the shape of things to come from Hustler Video, I suspect their multiple critics will fall silent or be run off by those who have learned to trust them.
