Extra's: The best extra was a 19 minute long Behind the Scenes feature by Lexington Steele and Tina Tyler. There was a lot of extra sex, playful antics between the scenes, and other banter you'd expect to find on such a feature with only one scene not covered in some fashion (IIRC that is, the absence of any footage from the Brett Rockman/Carmen Hayes/Stacy Cash scene left me wondering what happened since he wasn't even listed in the cast credits or on the box cover either). I liked it and it added some value despite the mystery of the missing scene. The other extras were standard with the usual photogallery, fetish menus, trailers, and a double sided DVD cover.

Audio/Video Quality: Black Reign 6was presented in the usual 1.33:1 ratio, full frame color that director Lexington Steele shot it in for his company, Mercenary Pictures. The lighting was off in several of the scenes and that caused more grain that I prefer seeing as well as some color saturation issues. This has been a common complaint of mine towards releases by the company and I'm wondering if part of the problem lies in the way the DVDs have been mastered. In any case, this issue aside, the scenes usually looked pretty good. The camera angles ranged from the usual types of shots to some POV to a host of other angles with the composition of said shots to almost always be complimentary to the cast of women. I saw no compression artifacts and only some pattern noise on the fishnets some of the gals wore bothered me as much as the lighting. The stereo audio was a bit on the varied side this time too since the vocals were at different levels. Some of the time, I could hear the cast just fine and other times they were barely discernable so you can understand my concern that a little quality control might assist with.

Body of Review: Fans of interracial porn have a lot more to choose from on DVD than ever before so it's important for reviewers to provide some means by which consumers can differentiate the wheat from the chaff. As a general rule, there are only a handful of companies producing the kind of ball draining heat fans really want and one of those companies is Mercenary Pictures, led by the Dark Prince himself, Lexington Steele. His latest release is Black Reign 6, a continuation of the long lived series with Lex taking back the reigns of direction from former employee Vanessa Blue (Domina X). The general theme of the movie is spelled out on the front cover: "The darker the meat…the sweeter the juice." If you like seeing gals of color (usually black but also Latinas) in action with studs like the mighty Lex himself and other capable guys, you've come to the right place. Here's a brief breakdown of the scenes by cast and action, noting that no condoms were used:

Scene One: Vanessa, a lean, light skinned black gal wearing a white fishnet outfit with contrasting black PVC corset, started off the show with some attitude and tease footage. She has the gal next door look to her that many fans appreciate and her torn black fishnet leggings told me she cared more about the sex than looking perfect. While she did display some attitude at first, I could overlook that and her baby fat given the manner in which she took care of Lexington Steele, Marco Duato, and Brian Pumper, in a number of ways. It started off with Lex spreading her pussy with that huge dick of his but she managed to do a lot more as she sucked him clean and rode each guy with some energetic bouncing. Energy is important in porn and her chemistry with the guys was icing on the cake, even as she managed to handle their DP'ing and other circus act tricks (there was some ATM but not much). They unloaded several rounds on her face at the end of the scene but it should be kept in mind that her strength was in how well she handled them on the bed.

Scene Two: Carmen Hayes and Stacy Cash, both dressed in lingerie that enhanced their looks, were up next in a strip club scenario with Brett Rockman. Scene Six: Mika Brown, the hotty featured on the front DVD cover looked a little like mainstream star Morena Baccarin from the Firefly series although she was not dressed the same in the scene as on the cover. In the scene, she had a studded collar and red bikini outfit with matching garter; a look that really worked well for her I might add. After the usual tease, she took on the powerful Lexington Steele orally, showing less ability to inhale him than a few of the others in the movie do but a solid attempt nonetheless. I don't see a lot of scenes in kitchens, due largely to the imposed limitations of the backgrounds, but Lex proved to be up to the task as he tore into her with abandon on the granite counter. If you want to see a lean gal getting "Lexized", this will work for you although he did most of the work and her vocals were limited. She did some PTM before getting anally ravaged (doing ATM too), but that aspect of the scene wasn't any better than the vaginal work. I like the gals to fully participate, not sit back and let the man do all the work (I get that at home), but I'm sure she felt good to Lex and earned her place on the cover despite the fact that she wasn't the best of the cast sexually.

Scene Seven: Hypnotiq, a lean darker skinned black gal that wielded a couple of large vibrators like nuchukus, wore a contrasting white outfit during her tease footage before doing the deed with both Lexington Steele and Marco Duato. She looked like the kind of gal that'd be fun at a private party (or in the special room of the local strip club) and her sexual skills seemed to back up my observation. Her oral was exceptionally good and her ability to actively participate in the hammering of her pussy was far more advanced than Mika. She did some powerful vaginal and anal with a good DP to boot (where she rocked their world rather than just stay still like most gals in porn do). Was she perfect? Not really but she did manage to shine in a very nice manner and I'll be looking for other movies with her in them (I've seen her before but this was her best work to date that I've been privy too). Summary: Black Reign 6 was better than the last volume in the series I reviewed Black Reign 4 but lacking compared to Black Reign 1, so I'm going to rate it as Recommended with the caveat that fans of black gals will definitely want to get their own copy (and stop borrowing mine already!). While the gals weren't all the best and the technical qualities could've been better, the combination of the more positive elements of the DVD managed to earn a place in my collection. There was a lot of fuck for the buck and the diversity of action gave the movie some solid replay value so go ahead and check it out; you won't be sorry.
