Extra's: The best extra was the 15.5 minute long Behind the Scenes feature by Tina Tyler. Most of the female cast members got good screen time (except a conspicuously limited amount of time by Sandra Romain, and none with her scene partners) and it was a fun little feature to watch. Tina's talent as a director is barely being tested these days and I hope to see Mercenary Pictures bring out the best in her in this regard). The other extras were the standardized fetish menu, photogallery, trailers, and double sided DVD cover.

Audio/Video Quality: Superwhores 5 was presented in the same 1.33:1 ratio full frame color it was shot in by director Lexington Steele for Mercenary Pictures. In many ways, this volume looked far better than past efforts (especially by Domina X), just going to show that a little help from friends can go a long way to making a better overall effort. The colors were accurate, the camera compositions were eye pleasing (making the gals look their best is half the battle in porn), and the lighting seemed substantially better than the series has been noted for in recent months. There were some shots that weren't lit as well, causing grain and other minor flaws, and some of the fishnet material caused the picture to shimmer more than I prefer but there were no compression artifacts and I thought the movie was a step in the right direction, regardless of who takes credit for it. The stereo English audio track was as basic as ever, with little separation between the channels and no significant amount of dynamic range but I could hear the gals moaning (and screaming for the matter) and the music wasn't as weak as some of the company's other recent efforts.

Body of Review: Mercenary Pictures has been around for a while but due in large part to a desire to carve out a successful niche in an already crowded field on the part of owner Lexington Steele, it has shot upwards in leaps and bounds of late. The interracial action the company seems to focus on has given way to much more than that while still "keeping it real" by offering up an alternative to the corporate porn so many websites and magazines seem to favor. The latest movie by the company is Superwhores 5, a continuation of the vaunted series that started long ago with Superwhores 1, known for having some of the best gals in porn showing why they are a step or two above the crowded field of porn these days. In large part due to the heated sex, the solid casting choices, and largely better production values, the DVD showed the series wasn't DOA as some would have you believe. Here's a brief look at the action on the DVD, noting that no condoms were used:

Scene One: Destiny Deville, a curvy gal wearing sexy fetish attire (PVC corset, garter, stockings and slutty shoes)and an English ass to die for, was up first as she teased the camera something fierce inside a living room. Calling herself a dirty slut bag and other nasty labels, she jumped out to me as a change from the status quo of the last few volumes in the series I watched (Domina X was never the director Lex was). Masturbating and warming up for the action, she seemed thrilled to get to work with the Dark Prince himself, Lexington Steele, and slobbed his knob as though she were taking on the challenge of her lifetime. She never did get much of it in her mouth but he gave her crack a snack to ready her for some pussy plunging action that left her screaming "fuck that pussy harder" and several other nasty comments that nearly drove me over the edge. He tore into her with all his power and she rode him hard & wet, stopping only for some PTM (pussy to mouth) work between positions. She was so energetic that Lex needed to slow her down, and even called her crazy at one point, before he lost it. She didn't do anal but I could tell he willingly pushed her to her limits and she loved every stroke of it. Whew!

Scene Two: Harmony, a curvy gal with an attractive face, light hair, and some nice black lingerie that accentuated her curves, was up next as she followed the general formula outdoors by a tree. I know many fans appreciate waifish looking gals that weigh under 90 pounds soaking wet but this gal had some kicking curves and I wanted to see her bouncing around on the hammock more than I care to think about. After some limited tease and masturbation, she took care of studly Frank Gunn, kissing him first before allowing him further access to all she had to offer. Sandra showed during the tease that she hasn't lost a beat in her performances, aptly teasing the camera as well as any of the other gals and coming off as the sultry sexpot she is while her two partners went to work her over. This was far from her best work but she was more than these two amateurs could handle and they dropped their loads after relatively little oral and vaginal screwing. Maybe in the future, she can have some Lex meat to add to her collection but it was by no means a bad scene if you enjoy this hotty's act.

Scene Four: Melissa Lauren, the babe on the front DVD cover, was up next as she spoke a foreign tongue while preparing to use hers on her two scene partners; Lexington Steele and Alec Knight. Her tease action was another bit that could've driven me over the edge had I given it the chance. Using a large black dildo, she stretched herself out (I could sort of hear Lex in the background giving her instructions) ever so slightly, doing some PTM in the process. The guys took turns screwing her and getting oral from her, culminating in a decent DP (double penetration) like few in the industry can do (at least not nearly as well). Scene Five: Finesse Navarro, an exotic brunette that I've been seeing a lot of lately (at least in porn). Her face was looking great and her lean body seemed to glide across the stairs and floor as she worked her way over to Alec Knight. I liked her fishnet body stocking too but it caused a lot of shimmer for the DVD (as shown on my television) but if you like lean gals; she was the best of the cast. Her oral was among the best too as she played with his shaft in her mouth, spanking it after a fashion on her mouth after she deep throated it handily. In terms of a complete blowjob, she really did give the best head and his limited attempts to return the favor paled in comparison. Scene Six: Erika Staxxx, a gal with some junk in her trunk but a practiced ease with teasing the camera, was up next with Lexington Steele. Of all the gals, she was the most in need of a diet and some time in the gym but I'd be lying if I said she didn't appeal to me more than half the cast in terms of looks and skill (she wasn't quite a BBW by most standards but so many of the other gals looked generic enough to make her stand out). With huge, all natural breasts and a thick body, she seemed among the most naturally into her sexuality, doing the scene for her own pleasure more than the money that came as a result. Summary: Superwhores 5 was my second favorite release in the series, with the Superwhores 1: Collector's Edition, taking the top honors. There was a lot of great fuck for the buck and the cast was almost all in top form so I'm going to rate it as Highly Recommended. While I haven't seen everything the company has to offer, I think this was just one more reason some of you should be jumping on the bandwagon to find out why so many others are getting into the work of the Man of Steele. With a little more work, I think the company will continue its mad climb to success and I wish all of them well in their ascent, I just wish they'd credit their casts better and provide better extras (like some of their competition is doing). In all though, this was a very passionate DVD with plenty of fuck for the buck.
