Extra's: The best extra was the 8 minute long Behind the Scenes feature shot by Joone. It was mostly a bunch of humorous vignettes with the cast doing and saying silly things (with the usual sound effects and subtitles tossed in for good measure). Like my sex life, I wish it lasted longer but it was fun to watch. The only other extras were the usual photogallery, double sided DVD cover, a biography of Jesse Jane, and trailers to movies like Teagan: All American Girl, Devon: Decadence, Devon: Erotique, Teagan: Erotique, Contract Star, Story of J, Sex in the Valley, Teen America, No Limits, Rush, Virtual Sex with Jesse Jane, Erotique, Jack's Playground, The Hitman, Beat The Devil, Three Timing, Sinful Creations.

Audio/Video Quality: Posh Kitten was presented in the same 1.85:1 ratio anamorphic widescreen that most releases from Digital Playground are made in these days. Unlike some of the more artsy fartsy movies though, the fleshtones here were perfect, the focus incredibly sharp, and the visual elements were all somewhat appealing. The composition of the shots was very flattering to the gals and I saw no compression artifacts or video noise during repeated viewings of the movie. The major gripe I had with the show was the fact that it was presented in slow motion; something that is said to work better for women than men. I swear I wish two versions of such movies were made (much like the cable versions made where no penetration is shown in order to offer more sales in that market). My second major gripe was that the lighting seemed designed for less explicit visuals too; with me preferring the harsh glare of flat lighting over the shadowy mood lighting offered here. The audio was presented in the same 5.1 Dolby Digital Surround as other top releases by Digital Playground but the vocals were excised from the scenes in favor of music. Personally, I hate this approach but my girlfriend usually enjoys it and as much as I liked the jazz flavored score, most of the pieces sounded alike. If you've watched some of John Leslie's work at Evil Angel, you'll know what this one basically sounded like, with a bit more of a big band influence massaged into the track on occasion.

Body of Review: Celeste, a former performer in the porn industry, has been established now at Digital Playground as perhaps their premiere director now for the last year. Looking more like the stylish erotica of long ago (and that of Joone's Island Fever series than anything else), she offers an alternative to the crushing wave of gonzo splooge-fests that currently dominate the porn world. Whether or not that alternative is for you depends solely on your personal tastes; such releases coming somewhere in-between "mainstream porn" with all it's conventions and the female friendly erotica produced by the talented Candida Royalle. The latest release in Celeste's line of movies for Digital Playground is Posh Kitten; another Jesse Jane focused movie using slow motion, artistic lighting, and a non-formulaic approach to the scenes. If you like Celeste's previous directorial efforts, or simply like seeing the lovely Jesse Jane (and friends) in action, you'll definitely want to pick this one up, regardless of thematic tastes but here's a brief look at the scenes, noting that no condoms were used that I could see:

Scene One: Jesse Jane, looking straight off the front DVD cover in her white & pink polka dot bikini (don't fret, it comes off quickly), is outside of a visually interesting pool on an overcast day. She applied some sunscreen to her body while the mighty stud Evan Stone watched her, later assisting her endeavor to make sure the cutie doesn't burn. Needless to say, this causes him to get a boner and she finds great solace in blowing him. The action was again in slow motion, a Celeste trademark move, and the couple screwed in a few positions at an angle considered by most to be made for late night cable rather than hardcore porn. Still, she looked great and took the facial well enough. I would've preferred it take place in real time, that she have a better makeup job, and that it last far longer but I'm told (well, nudged really) that women prefer this visual style (and women make up a large part of Digital Playground's audience unlike most gonzo porn).

Scene Two: Sandra Shine, an attractive brunette, was up next in a solo masturbation scene on a chair. Personally, I prefer to see a gal with a partner (and if it can't be me, another performer will suffice) but this kind of think has proven a decent manner of switching up a mechanical formula (as evidenced in the Jack's Playground series) and adding some replay value so I overlooked the seeming waste of this young babe's delicious body.

Scene Three: Jesse Jane, dressed in a short sun dress, started off the next "real" scene with an attitude of nonchalance until she found lipstick on Scott Nails' collar, causing her to turn into a very cranky gal until she decided to give him whatever he had been missing out on at home in an effort to keep him from straying. For me, this worked fine since my own experience has been a satisfied partner tends not to stray nearly as often. She blew him in slow motion, stripping down in the process. Scott gave her some oral in return but it didn't last long either and the two found themselves boning vaginally by the banister of the stairs after that. Like the other scenes, it soon ended with him rubbing out a load onto her mouth, this time giving the impression that she swallowed the load.

Scene Four: Sophia Santi, playing a dragon lady, complete with dragon tattoo, was up next in a brief scene with Jenaveve Jolie, with Sophia giving her lounging pal a little strip tease show. I so wanted the gals to jump one another and do all the crazy things gals in porn do to one another but I knew it wouldn't happen in a Celeste movie (which can be taken two ways, depending on your tastes in porn). Each gal looked great but the scene was less filling.

Scene Five: Jesse Jane, wearing a fishnet top in a darkened room, was back to blow a bald (and uncredited) Christian XXX on a couch. Using her hand to increase the friction on his shaft, she took him in her mouth and inhaled at such a rate that I could see the redness of his balls wanting to explode prematurely. In other news, the two screwed like bunnies with her on top initially. The slow motion lowered the heat for me (as it almost always does) but Jesse is one of the few gals that I'll put up with this kind of thing for and she rewarded the camera with some PTM (pussy to mouth) oral after the bout of vaginal boning. He jerked out the load at the end but she didn't stop giving him some head until afterwards, increasing the heat a little bit.

Scene Six: Jelena Jensen, a gal I've seen a few times in the Jack's Playground series, looked far better here all dressed up in a see through lingerie get up with corset, garters, stockings and a smile. Her all natural body and sultry moves would've worked nicer for me as the prelude to a scene instead of the scene itself but I suppose this type of thing just makes her all the more desirable (building up the heat for her inevitable scene with some porn stud, or me, in the future).

Scene Seven: Jesse Jane, dressed in a skimpy blue and white striped outfit complete with stripper shoes, was up next with Jean Val Jean. It was kind of creepy how her poured over her with a magnifying glass as though looking for clues to a murder mystery but they've worked well together in the past so I let it slide. After a sultry kiss between the two, he made his move by rubbing her crotch and body, with her sucking his thumb as a warm up to his penis. Keeping eye contact with him during the act, she went up and down the shaft in a far more serious manner than she had done before with him acting like Fabio in a commercial or woman's romance novel in return. The camera angle was much closer in this time (for most of the short scene) and it lent an air of intimacy that some of the other scenes didn't quite have but it wasn't my favorite angle either, since the cutaway shot (allowing the viewer to see nearly the whole body) made her look better. The two then screwed a bit and she took the facial like a champion, giving some post coital sucking for good measure.

Scene Eight: Jesse Jane, playfully wearing a mask and piece of string, was up on a couch scene with Jenaveve Jolie next as the two spanked one another. Jenaveve's more traditional lingerie looked good on her and Jesse being tied up had some appeal too but the scene didn't go anywhere and that was a waste. Jenaveve ate some chocolate and teased Jesse with some rubbing but mostly masturbated when there was a perfectly willing partner to offer some rug munching with. Sigh…

Scene Nine: Jada Fire, the movie's darker meat, was up next in a scene on a couch with Chris Charming. She appeared to be in charge of getting him off, wearing little to interfere with easy access to her body parts, and sucking him off with a concentration level rarely seen in a movie of this type. The sex itself included some anal after the vaginal but it didn't last very long and he popped his load on her ample chest at the end of the action. She's done a lot more passionate work elsewhere of late but fans will want to see her here too.

Scene Ten: Jesse Jane, looking exactly like a Playboy playmate from the 1960's, was up next as she ate some kind of confectionary treat on her very large bed while dressed in a bikini style pink and white polka dot outfit. She was bubbly and spanked herself to generate some measure of heat, which worked for me solely because of my affection towards her. She did masturbate but it was the kind of non-explicit action you'd see on Cinemax (and not late night Cinemax either). Still, I couldn't deny her appealing look here by any means.

Scene Eleven: Rita Faltoyano, the Hungarian hotty, was up next in a scene with the mighty Evan Stone as the two shot some pool together. Her look nearly had me shooting some pocket pool but I knew Evan was the man for the job. Why she had on some roller-skates was never explained (maybe it was a clumsy attempt to psychologically lower her age in the minds of the viewer) but each gave the other some oral loving. I expected this scene to last longer and be more complete but he blew his wad pretty quickly and that was it (she had a far more satisfying scene in Mind Fuck for those whose appetites were whetted by this scene).

Scene Twelve: Jenaveve Jolie, in her red dress as shown throughout the movie in the form of minor cutaway shots, was up last with Scott Nails, looking much like a younger Tim Robbins in the poorly lit theatre. He spilt his drink on her and that led the pantiless honey to warm up to him with the couple making out as he fingered her pussy. She did do some oral on him but like most of the sex acts in the movie, it was short in nature and led to a more routine boning, ending with the pop shot as expected. For the most part, this was an anticlimactic way to finish up the movie but it did provide thematic closure if you watched the entire show in a single sitting.

Summary: Posh Kitten had a lot to like if you enjoy female friendly porn made for couples that haven't been jaded by years of hardcore porn (like me). I'm not going to kid you; I prefer something a lot less artistic but I've also found that partners of mine like these type of shows far more than the vast wasteland of porn on the market (typically refusing to watch more than a couple of minutes of it, if that). The scenes were too short for me to use as stroke material but as a launching board for some real life intimacy, they worked far better than average so the usual dilemma about ratings comes up. On its own merits, Posh Kitten was definitely a hit or miss proposition, depending on personal tastes more than most porn. If you enjoyed Celeste's other works to date, you'll be creaming in your jeans to scoop this one up, but if you weren't a fan of those, there was nothing different here to change your mind. I'm going to split the difference and rate the movie as Recommended although I think there are a number of compromises that could cause future movies like this to work for both sexes, as well as a broader audience. A less invasive score, more vocals, longer scenes that allow more of a buildup, and a running time of closer to two hours with decent extras would be a nice start. In all though, Celeste's works are crafted with a specific audience in mind and the care she and her director of photography, Robby Dallas, use is undeniable. If you've never seen one of their collaborations, this would be a fine choice to see what all the buzz is about, just keep in mind the limitations of the focus.
