Extra's: The DVD had some decent extras and most of you will appreciate the two bonus scenes more than anything else. The first came from Sex Magician and starred Julia Ann & Randy Spears in a scene by a pool at night. Yeah, it only lasted 8 minutes and was about as hardcore as you'd expect from A&E but she was looking sweet here and it's no wonder that Wicked Pictures gave her a contract not long after this came out. The second bonus scene was from Fit To Be Tied, starring Carmen Luvana, Makayla Coxxx, and Scott Nails lasting nearly 24 minutes long. I thought the second scene was the better of the two for quality of sexual activity as much as the length. Other than the photogallery and trailers, the only other extra was the Behind the Scenes special lasting 11 minutes. I really liked it and found the way the cameras framed some shots especially revealing as to how some performers seemed to be able to turn off their charms as quickly as they turned them on but it was fun to watch nonetheless.

Audio/Video Quality: Big Ass Orgy was presented in the same 1.85:1 ratio widescreen color it was shot in by director "Simbo Super B" for Adam & Eve Pictures. The colors were a bit saturated and the lighting was nothing special but as far as orgies go, it wasn't badly handled for the most part. The cameras kept moving around and the editing allowed the viewer to see glimpses of various acts performed by the cast as it all took place in real time; lending an air of reality TV to the event. The focus wasn't always perfect and there was a fair amount of grain at times but I saw no compression artifacts and the biggest issue I had was how frequently the camera would use close ups to capture the action. The stereo English audio track was a bit less well handled with a lot of variation in levels, to the point of distortion at times, In all though, it was a nice addition to the Wicked Sex Party orgies that offered up similar action in the past.

Review: If you've ever watched one of the Wicked Pictures Sex Party releases in the past, you'll know how recording an orgy video is problematic at best. Many fans will be upset at the way their preferred performer isn't centered on; the technical matters are a nightmare to pull off without huge numbers of edits needed to cover them, and the difficulty in keeping a positive flow to the action sometimes causes the orgy to markedly decline in heat. Well, as much as filming an orgy is among the most difficult things in porn to "get right", Adam & Eve wanted to give it a shot too so they made Big Ass Orgy to offer up that they aren't as couples oriented as the majority of the market seems to believe. As a long time supporter of the company, I'll be the first to admit that most of the offerings are geared to a specific market niche but on occasion, they surprise me. This was one of those times.

Starring a diverse cast of talent including Katja Kassin, Melissa Lauren, Gia Paloma, Sunshine, Holly Wellin, Katerina, Staci Thorn, Roxi Devil, Julian St. Jox, John West, Brett Rockman, Talon, Alex Rox, Billy Banks, and Vincent Vega, the show started off with the gals introducing themselves for the camera and adding a bit of what they were looking for from the movie. Some gals wanted to taste pussy while others wanted a big, hard cock up their ass and each of them eventually got what they wanted. You have to give credit for putting Gia Paloma, Katja Kassin, and Melissa Lauren in the same scene but also for the variety of shapes, colors, and sizes of the rest of the cast. There was truly something for everyone here with interracial, bareback anal, and lots of energetic fucking, sucking, and playing to be had. I'm not going to bore you with a virtual screenplay of the action (none of the gals stepped out of their usual types of action) but other than a general lack of circus act sex (triple penetrations, fisting, slapping or other offensive acts), you could find what you were looking for here. PTM (pussy to mouth), ATM (ass to mouth), oral (lots of blowjobs here), vaginal and anal were all common and I don't recall seeing any condoms (something of a breakthrough for A&E addressing the market standard). Not all of the acts were captured as well as they could've been but I'd be misleading you if I didn't say that the show as a whole appealed to me and after watching it twice, I figured I'd find something new with every viewing.

Summary: Big Ass Orgy proved many critics wrong in the staying power of Adam & Eve. With a first rate cast, lots of solid action and interesting camera angles, the movie offered more fuck for the buck than the running time would generally permit. There was no acting, no story, and no wasted footage here as the gals all went splunk diving by the end of the action. The cast was in good form, the extras added some nice value, and the rough edges weren't so bad as to lower my opinion of this one, earning it a Recommended. I almost wonder if A&E has changed since I last had the chance to regularly review their material given the strength of this DVD alone. Whatever the case may be, don't dismiss this one without seeing it for yourselves since it could've easily been released under a different label and most of you (probably me too) wouldn't have known the difference.
