Audio/Video Quality: Big Toys No Boys 3 was presented in the usual 1.33:1 ratio full frame color that most porn is shot in these days by some unknown director (I credited Mike since his name was on the 2257 credits but a female worked the camera in at least a few of the scenes and silent people worked it elsewhere). Unlike Big Toys No Boys 1, this one had a lot of rough edges in terms of weak lighting, grain, uneven composition of the shots, and general visual appeal. The editing added to the problem in some scenes with abrupt cutting taking place and no rhyme or reason for why an angle would be switched out after the camera settled down. There were a few compression artifacts and the video noise interfered with my viewing pleasure more than a few times with shadows also present in abundance. The stereo audio was in English but wavered nearly as much as the picture with levels that were often in need of adjustment for being too loud (causing distortion) or too low, causing me to reach for the remote to try and hear what was said.

Body of Review: Fans of lesbian porn have long had plenty to pick from as they worked their way down the aisle of their local stores (or shopped online) with titles like 4 Finger Club, WTBA or Beautiful/Nasty as a few examples of this well appreciated genre. As new companies try to carve out a name for themselves; they also offer up similar releases, with today's review of Big Toys No Boys 3 being a case in point. If you like attractive women having lesbian sex and using toys, the series has proven to offer some slightly heated action in the past (I never saw the second volume but Big Toys No Boys 1 wasn't bad). If you are a fan of the cast and want to see more toy use than perhaps any other current release on the market, read the following breakdown of the scenes by cast but keep in mind the action was very formulaic in nature (and often mechanically driven):

Scene One: Missy Monroe, Brooke Haven, Staci Thorn, and Taylor Kurtis, were up first in this selection of lesbian scenes. They were the four gals on the front DVD cover and the female cameraman (or is that "cameraperson" in this day and age of political correctness?) seemed happy to shot their scene. Missy seemed to be the initial focal point of the action and her buddies all got to give some slapping action to her before they all paired up. Fans of fishnet outfits will appreciate that some of them wore such things but the main drive of the action was sucking, licking, rubbing and using toys on one another, in each hole available. Without giving a lame blow by blow description of the action, they were energetic, skilled, and appeared to get off in this decent scene.

Scene Two: Katja Kassin, Ariana Jollee, Sandra Romain, and Barbara Summers, were up next in a multinational performer scene on the now infamous Devil's Film couch. This scene wasn't as squirt intensive as the last one (fans of pissing will enjoy that one more than I did) but as surprised as I was about it, these gals were even more heated in the manner they did each other. In fact, it was a no holds barred scene with more dildos employed, more anal antics, and more taste testing than the last scene but that wasn't the highlight. No, the highlight this time was easily the passion the gals put into the scene as they did one another, despite technical limitations (the window behind them weakened the scene as did the audio drop outs. I believed that at least three of them got off twice or more but even if none of them did; the action was good (and believable).

Scene Three: Sativa Rose, Carmen, and Terri Summers, were up next on a couch. Sativa was the highlight of this scene, looking and acting like a million bucks. The other two weren't in the same league as her and it showed but Sativa managed to get them working it pretty well as they followed the basic formula established in the series. There was a lot of licking, sucking, rubbing and toy use with a definite leaning towards anal action. I wish the chemistry was better but Sativa fans will recognize how much she dominated the scene and find some solace in the fact that she had a lot of screen time here.

Scene Four: Haley Paige, Genesis Skye, and Dillan Lauren, were up next on a couch. Haley was the freshest looking of the trio but the other two had their appeal as well. The formula ruled more than passion here and the sex was even more mechanical than the rest of the movie so I really couldn't get into it much. If you like strap on dildo action, anal with toys, and the general other tricks employed by the series, this will appeal to you more than it did to me but lacking some kind of spark limited the whole scene for me (and I've seen Haley as well as Genesis give great scenes in the recent past).

Scene Five: Sydnee Capri and Jada Fire, the two black gals in the movie, were up last. I'm not going to argue that they don't have any appeal but unless you're a big fan of one (or both) of them, the scene is going to bore you even more than the last one did. I'll be up front and tell you I'm not really into either of them but I've seen each do some solid work in the past (in terms of getting into the action at least). Why they were segregated into a single scene made little sense for me since the contrast of having black on white shouldn't be limited to scenes with guys in them yet I'm sure there was a reason behind it. This one took place in a kitchen and the gals seemed to like one another but it never worked for me, even though there were only two toys used (the other scenes relied too heavily on toys in my opinion). The camera work was weak and the other technical values pretty lame so I can't suggest this one as worth more than a glance.

Summary: Big Toys No Boys 3 started off well enough but quickly fell into the trap of the formula it subscribed to; making it look like a paint by numbers movie. I still think it was worth a rating of Rent It but I'm a big fan of several of the cast here so my bias in their favor should be factored into your consideration (I try to honestly document their scenes but I'm not going to kid you that the mere presence of a few of them elevates a scene in my eyes). The technical problems also got in the way this time, leaving me to think no one wanted the director credit based on how it looked and sounded, but that's speculation on my part. I think Devil's Film has a lot to offer and has shown a lot of potential in the past but they almost always leave significant rough edges to their releases and it hurts their final product.
