Audio/Video Quality: Please Drill My Ass POV was presented in the usual 1.33:1 ratio full frame color as shot by director Chris Charming for distribution by Elegant Angel. The lighting was almost always solid, the resulting grain minimal, and the composition of the camera angles was done as advertised in point of view (POV) fashion as if you, the viewer, are getting to participate in the scenes. I've seen better use of the angle (a steadier hand, better editing, and the like) but it was nicely done for a first (or at least early) movie in the director's career. He does a decent job of screwing and that probably earned him his spot as a director, but he has some rough edges to work out before he can elevate his act to that of the best in the business (the ones immediately coming to mind are Mike John, Jules Jordan, and a few others). I wish the action had been a bit more varied, at least in terms of the background scenery (like staying outside for example), but it wasn't bad at all. The stereo English audio was pretty basic with the couples being heard easily enough but there was no separation between the channels and it had a limited dynamic range.

Body of Review: As a steadily increasing number of male performers become directors, the general comments I hear from the more established crews is that there really doesn't seem to be a lot of difference in terms of the end result. In effect, they are claiming these attempts at directing are more window dressing and advertising gimmicks than anything else but I'm not so sure (having watched so many behind the scenes features; many of these directors do provide some substantive input on things). The latest would be German porn stud, Chris Charming's Please Drill My Ass POV. The theme was anal with each gal getting it and the shooting style was in point of view so that it lets the viewer feel like he's participating in the sex. In all, it wasn't a bad flick with Chris offering up a decent release that I liked enough to rate highly but I hope some of the rougher edges are honed out if a second volume is forthcoming. There was a decent amount of fuck for the buck here and I think Elegant Angel made a good choice in having him direct as they continue to stage a comeback. With some work, Chris could become yet another successful winner in the performer turned director sweepstakes and Please Drill My Ass POV was worth your time and money.
