Extra's: The best extra was easily the 23.5 minute long Behind the Scenes feature by Jewel De'Nyle that showed 80% of the gals before, during, and after their scenes, Conspicuously missing were Flower and Denise but that's a mystery I can let lie in the back of my mind unless one of you out there knows what happened. Some of the anecdotes were extremely cute though ("I'm going to get a divorce" being one of the cutest). Another decent extra was the inclusion of three photoshoots, one with Taryn & Barbara, another with the missing Flower & Denise, and the last with Penny & Jassie; totaling slightly over 11 minutes. The other extras were the usual set of trailers, a photogallery, and a double sided DVD cover.

Audio/Video Quality: Dirty Girlz 4 was presented in the same 1.33:1 ratio full frame color it was shot in by director Jewel De'Nyle for her company, Platinum X Pictures. Rather than go with the usual heavy, flat lighting that illuminates every nook and cranny, the lighting was toned down a bit and made warmer this time. This not only covers up some of the minor flaws some of the gals have but it is more flattering in general to some of them. I have mixed feelings about this type of lighting but can understand why so many seem to prefer it even though it adds some minor grain to the picture. Otherwise, the resolution of the visuals was pretty solid and the composition of the shots appeared proactively designed to enhance the look of the gals (assisting in conveying the heat of the scenes nicely). I saw no compression artifacts or video noise and as a Monday morning quarterback, most of the changes I'd make would be small ones. The stereo audio was in English and seemed fairly generic in terms of quality (particularly separation and dynamic range) but I could hear all their moans & groans with minimal changes in levels.

Body of Review: I know that many porn fans enjoy watching lesbian action (I sure do) as a staple porn act in most features these days but there also seems to be a market for entire DVDs full of the gal on gal action too. As a self professed lesbian in a man's body, I can see why given the plethora of pussy available in such releases that truly get off on one another (even some of the high and mighty contract gals love it). It's easier to handle than Lex Steele's penis and the pay is pretty good so of course many are drawn to it in the industry. One of the more interesting lesbian releases I've seen of late was Dirty Girlz 4 by Jewel De'Nyle of Platinum X Pictures. The cast appeared to be top notch, the action was often very solid, and there was enough diversity in what went on that most fans will be happy watching it, much like they were with Dirty Girlz 3. Here's a brief look at the action by cast and what they did, noting that no men were present onscreen at any time:

Scene One: Taryn Thomas, a lovely young brunette wearing a black & blue fetish outfit, and Barbara Summer, wearing a silver metallic bikini with a red mesh top, were up first as they played with one another on a couch. The scene went slowly at first as the gals warmed up to the action but they were soon moaning and groaning like champs. The used a variety of toys and were quite repetitive in their comments ("ooh yeah" being said far too often) but my main concern was how the gals came off as being somewhat mechanical. With technical DP's and lots of anal action (with plenty of taste testing), the scene looked good but was less filling.

Scene Two: Brooke Haven and Bobbi Blair were up next, both looking like they'd be right at home in a top level strip club (one appealing to the crowd that likes leaner gals and the other a bit curvier). The warmer lighting used on them worked fairly well since they weren't technically perfect looking (hence the stripper comment) but I wouldn't kick either out of bed unless they wanted to do it on the floor. The mechanics of the scene were very similar to the last one except they never did anal with the toys and the action never really progressed beyond the slower, sultrier, phase. I know that'll work for some of you, particularly those who aren't into excessive toy use, but it left me hanging.

Scene Three: Flower Tucci and Denise K., the gals gracing the front DVD cover, were up next and I could see why they were awarded the cover after this scene. Essentially, they combined the twisted toy action found in scene one with a whole new level of passion and energy to make the scene something exceptionally heated. There were technical DP's, lots of face sitting, and Flower even gave her usual pissing routine (some call it squirting of course). Flower's fleshy body will appeal to many of you out there but Denise wasn't exactly skinny either. In short, while they sometimes got a bit over the top, I thought much of the action was the gals truly getting off (it's the small touches that convince me, the flush skin, erect nipples, changes in breathing patterns, and a few trade secret reasons). In all, it was a really well done scene.

Scene Four: Penny Flame, a gal that some have claimed reminds them very much of a "new" Jewel De'Nyle for her looks and general approach to porn scenes, and the freckled Jassie; known for her lean body and sometimes spaced out exotic look, were up next on a couch. They made out by kissing and rubbing each other but were soon using a strap on dildo (on Penny) to drive home her message of peace and love across the universe. Penny is a gal that can come across as liking anything she does, employing dirty talk as she gets nailed by whomever she meets and that was the case here too. Both gals spoke dirty and that sure didn't hurt as they went at one another soundly. There was another toy used (on Jassie) but Penny was the main recipient of the plastic penis. While this scene wasn't as passionate as the last, it was more believable in many ways and I enjoyed it a bunch.

Scene Five: Sativa Rose and Eva Angelina were up last as the two brunettes showed why they should've been chosen for the front DVD cover. I'm a fan of Sativa and with the exception of some implants, Eva is great looking too so I knew the scene was going to rock. That I had inadvertently watched the BTS extra first solidified this idea in my mind but there was never a moment that I thought they'd let me down here. Yeah, they did what the others did, spoke much like them, gyrated like them, and used toys like them but the key to their having the best scene on the DVD was how they appeared to really get off multiple times but kept up a sense of showmanship that never got too over the top. With great energy, passion and flair, they ended this lesbian release on a high note, topping even the other two hot scenes I discussed previously. Yum!

Summary: Dirty Girlz 4 was worth a rating of Recommended due to a great cast, good action, and some decent extras combined with nice production values. Three of the scenes were very heated and the other two weren't bad either, offering up a lot of toys, tongues and twats for your stroking pleasure. If you're into lesbian porn that skips the pretentious BS some of the artistic directors shoot for, you can bet that Jewel's vision of sloppy snail trails and passionate embraces will work for you in a way that a man's vision of Sapphic action would never touch.
