Extra's: The best extra was easily the bonus scene between Rita and Michael Stefano. She teased while wearing an aqua top and panties in the shower, coming out to hook up with him in the hallway before retiring to the bedroom. Her oral was superb; her sexual passion off the charts, and her ability to take him vaginally and anally was sweet as could be. It lasted over 24 minutes and had PTM, ATM, and a big facial finish (and was recorded in 2/4/2004). There was also a photogallery, some trailers, and a double sided DVD cover.

Audio/Video Quality: My Plaything: Rita Faltoyano was presented in 1.78:1 ratio widescreen color it was shot in for the DVD. Unlike earlier volumes in the series, they decided to go with a warmer lighting set up, improving on what was used for My Plaything: Krystal Steal, although it did introduce some grain and minor video noise at times. There were no observable compression artifacts and Rita looked very good here but I think I'd prefer the harsh glare of bright lights on her since they wouldn't hurt her in the slightest (which can't be said for most performers in the industry; remember that I've seen many of them, Rita included, up close and personal). The stereo English audio track was slightly hollow at times but worked well enough and the music seemed less offensive in the title section (and wasn't pervasive in the loops thankfully).

Body of Review: Rita Faltoyano, the Hungarian beauty gracing the cover of today's review, has long been a favorite performer of mine, even back in the days when she was a contract star for Private. Aside from a handful of performances where she didn't truly shine (as in my recent review of Naturally Perfect), the gal has long had it going on, as it were. Okay, enough idle chatter, today's review is of Digital Sin's My Plaything: Rita Faltoyano. Those of you familiar with the series; know that it is essentially a videogame where you control a series of prerecorded loops of Rita in various forms of sexual activity. To date, there are only two companies making halfway decent virtual sex DVDs, and here's a glimpse of my previous comments on the issue:

"Fans of the series will note that of the two major virtual sex lines worth looking at these days (for the most part); Digital Playground's Virtual Sex and Digital Sin's My Plaything series. The whole concept really took off when Jenna Jameson came out in My Plaything Jenna Jameson (or the Virtual Sex equivalent) and the genre has never been as advanced as the two disc set for My Plaything Jenna Jameson 2 but fans of the various performers that have graced either series will be able to tell you that seeing your favorite porn performer act in various sex positions, using POV (point of view) camera angles that allow you to fantasize you're the meat puppet boning them, is kind of a trip. In a way, these series seemed to start off the POV series that are becoming ever more popular so we can thank the folks at both companies for pushing the envelope of what sells."

To date, none of the entries in the field of virtual sex have surpassed the second volume of Jenna's release and that makes sense since she remains the most bankable hotty in porn, although a few performers have done anal on their version of the series and that will likely be the sole differentiation point other than the starlet focused on herself. Yet being able to manage a performance by a gal you like will always have some appeal to it and Rita is certainly one of the better gals in the business.

The concept itself works like this: You pop in the DVD and use your remote control to pick what type of action you want. You can set her mood to Naughty or Nice (the difference most of the time is what kind of language the gal uses but Rita's too quiet this time for there to be a huge difference here; the trick this time was that most of the naughty action tended to be the same stuff but anal instead of vaginal), make her "Cum on Q" with the push of a button, look at it from multiple angles, and have her go through the usual foreplay, sex and tease. From the moment the DVD starts playing and the montage of Rita began, I was happy. Hearing her say: "I am your playting" (accent included for effect), I was hooked. The standard four categories were included; Tease, Masturbate, Foreplay, and Sex.
In Tease, you could start off with the Tits category, where if nice, she'd wash herself but in naughty, she'd use heated candlewax to drive you wild. The naughty feature lasted much longer this time, running at about 3 minutes, but it was pretty cool to watch her heating up. This was similar to the ass option as well and followed through with the pussy option. The scenario was all in a darkened room with large gothic candlesticks and a tapestry in the background with her on a bed.

The next group was Masturbate. In the nice position, Rita would rub her pretty pussy, concentrating on her clit, using fingers, a dildo, and a second dildo, depending on which option you picked. Glass dildos are interesting to look at as was the office setting but her wearing the skirt with white stockings and garters enhanced her look considerably. The naughty option had her using the same functions with her ass, from fingering it to plunging dildos in and out of it, going so far as a double dildo (a "technical" DP as it were).

This was followed by a Foreplay option. In Nice, she would get some tongue on her crotch, have her uncredited partner finger her, and use a dildo, with the last selection being her giving him a handjob. The way she worked him over while kneeling before him was great with the ambiance of the leather chair and rug just right for the scene. In naughty, she had a tongue anal option, fingers anal, dildo anal and the handjob which were all faster paced but she didn't speak enough for my tastes. The main limitation though was the fake pop shot (the series uses a computer generated pop shot by the guy instead of the real thing).

The Last option was the Sex option. In Nice, that meant picking from Missionary, Doggie, Cowgirl, Reverse Cowgirl, and a Blowjob. There seemed to be a problem with the CGI pop shot at times but at the end of the BJ option, if you picked the Cum on Q, he really blew his nut on her chest as she jerked him off. The naughty options were all the same positions but using anal and Rita stepped it up a notch or two in order to make things more heated as well.

So, if you've never watched one of these "interactive sex simulators" before, you now know what to expect. This one was shot with warmer colors in mind instead of a bare, black background and fans of Rita Faltoyano will definitely want to pick this one up. The limitations of the genre were all in full force though, in videogames, we refer to this type of thing as a "rail" game since you're confined to a limited selection of loops, much like a train is limited to a particular number of rail lines that you can't leave. This is mitigated by the fact that you have double the camera angles of most shows (and they aren't made up of spliced in footage left on the cutting room floor). I'm a fan of Rita so I'll balance out my personal tastes against the fact that she came off as truly having some fun with the action and the DVD was not as complete as the company's flagship Jenna title and rate it as Recommended, though I'm not giving up my copy any time soon.

Summary: My Plaything: Rita Faltoyano was a cut above most titles in the series since the lead did anal, a lot of interesting facial expressions, and her enthusiasm was very high. The technical values weren't as good as My Plaything Jenna Jameson 2 and the extras were on the light (but good) side, yet the performance was more realistic. I'm of the opinion that the next leap in technology will require the series to move to the HD-DVD system being standardized even now although I'm sure improvements could be made if the two major companies wanted to spend some extra time and money on them. My Plaything: Rita Faltoyano showed the lovely beauty queen at her best and fans will be happy to note she gave a solid performance this time, making it a very good volume in an already interesting series. One quick way to improve the series would be to add real male pop shots to more than a few scenes, I'm sure you can find plenty of volunteers for it if you want to save money (cough) but it's one of the few sticking points for many viewers.
