Extra's: While most of you will appreciate the 4.5 minutes of extra sex footage trimmed from the scene, I preferred to watch the 22 minute long Behind the Scenes extra by Marcelo Storelli that had the cast enjoying themselves during the shoot. If anyone ever doubted that John Stagliano isn't a total pervert (and I mean that as a compliment), they need to watch this feature. It had the still photography and the gals in lots of nice positions too so check it out. There was a very short bit of foot fetish action (John getting some feet rubbed on his face) and a short bit of the gals bent over but like the trailers, photogallery, biography of John, and limited filmographies for the two gals; they really didn't do a lot for me.

Audio/Video Quality: Buttman's Ass Adoro was presented in the usual 1.33:1 ratio full frame color as originally shot by director John Stagliano for distribution by his company, Evil Angel. I know that the excellence in visual aspects of John's movies rarely relies on perfect lighting and other objective factors so much as the composition and reliance on John to bring out the very best performances in the cast. That was the case here but the picture looked pretty solid most of the time to me as well; a decided step up from some of his previous works I've reviewed. There were shadows and some grain with a few of the camera angles less flattering than the majority of them but overall; it looked pretty good. The audio was presented in the usual 2.0 Dolby Digital stereo English and varied somewhat more than average but seemed well within usual parameters for a gonzo shoot. There wasn't any mentionable separation between the channels and the dynamic range wasn't anything special but John managed to deliver in both areas fairly well here.

Body of Review: John Stagliano is best known in porn as the guy who popularized the term "gonzo" and for heading up one of the most successful companies with a distribution model that allows directors to maintain rights to their shows where everyone wins. In most companies, the director gets a set fee with no residuals so this marketing ploy works to encourage directors to put everything they have into a DVD in order to reap the benefits (capitalism at its best folks!). In recent years, John has cut back his directing in order to focus on running the company and spending time with his lovely daughter and wife; an admirable stance that has allowed him to take time to "smell the flowers". Thankfully, he took time out to make a new movie titled Buttman's Ass Adoro, something of an experiment since it consisted of one very lengthy scene instead of a number of shorter acts as virtually all porn has these days. Here's a look at the action of the movie, noting that Gina Jolie, Lorena, and Jazz Duro were the only cast members to engage in heated sex:

Here's what the back cover said about the DVD: "Gina Jolie has a smoldering, sometimes dangerously out of control, sexuality. Jazz Duro is crazy about her. They have a tremendous chemistry together. The wild card was Lerena. I picked her from a photo in an agent's book. He said she was hot. But you always take a chance when you pick a girl from a picture. I was taking another chance when I booked a three-way. Was I maybe spoiling a good intimate thing between my two main people? Maybe, but sometimes magic happens. There is a level of intimacy that you can achieve if you relax and just play with your fetish with people you really jive with. This was one long sexual afternoon in Rio. We did ass fetish activities of all kinds. We did smothering, throat fucking, slapping, spitting, dominating play, toys gaping, all kinds of fun stuff, including conventional and anal sex. All of it works together. All of it builds the intensity, and reveals the truth of each person. And with great people like this, all of it's good. I can't present this experience in a conventional length sex scene. I can't cut the moments just after intense play when you see exhaustion, vulnerability, peace. So this movie is only one scene. I'd make all my gonzo movies like this if I could."

The Scene: Gina Jolie and Lorena were two gals with large, curvy asses that were incredible to look at. Gina was a bit leaner than Lorena but fans of great asses have long accepted that with a great ass comes a few extra pounds. I'm not a fan of the waifish look so popular these days as I appreciate the curves a real woman has over the skinny girl look. This said in order to explain my biases; I had to admit that I appreciated John's attention to the tease footage. Too many directors seem unwilling to explore this area very much, leaving some potentially perfect scenes wanting for lack of the warm up. Jazz had the gals sitting on his face while they still had pants on, slowly undressing as they danced, pranced and wiggled their backsides for best effect.

The gals continued the tease with some sweet fetish outfits, including a great PVC bondage style get up and lots of thongs that showed off the great tan lines the gals had developed. The trio engaged in orally pleasing one another (and taking a moment to rub John's dick too) with some farting as a sample of the taste of ass. There were various toys, including glass toys that are becoming greatly popular (for the record, I'd have bought the anal plug used on Katja Kassin if I had known about it being for sale on John's website), and some alcoholic beverage that had to be beeped out to prevent problems (John leaving the comments to the editor in was kind of interesting too).

The way Gina douched with the booze was different and Jazz seemed to like it a lot too. The first blowjob of the show didn't start until about 50 minutes into the show; giving you some idea of how well played the tease footage was. John's mastery of tease has been demonstrated enough that he should teach others his methods to expand on such footage being offered by others for that matter. The first vaginal screwing didn't start until after an hour and anal followed soon after. There was taste testing of all sorts (PTM, ATM; both with the two usual variations as the other gal sucked on the juices too) and the best part about all of it was how energetic and passionate the three were to work together. That they seemed to have lots of chemistry was just icing on the cake. The action ranged from slow and sultry to the rough stuff some people shy away from but the facial at the end will please most of you and I had nothing bad to say about the scene. Whew!

Summary: Buttman's Ass Adoro was not John's best release in recent years and it was shorter than most of his companies releases in the last year or two but the quality versus quantity debate going on in my head as I typed this review told me that the DVD was worth a rating of Recommended nonetheless. I thought John's wife did a decent job on the DVD mastering too and the cast was in rare form as they played out the single scene better than many performers do in entire compilations. I wish it lasted longer but the extras added some nice value and I hope John becomes more active as a director in the near future given the quality this movie showed. Kudos to him for trying something new while still delivering the type of tease and gonzo passion he's long been associated with.
