Extra's: For me, the best extra was the 19.5 minute long Behind the Scenes feature. It was made exclusively for this release, gave Savanna and the other gals lots of screen time, and had some nudity/sexual conduct so it was fun to enjoy. Some of you will enjoy the five bonus scenes from previous Vivid releases, including three starring Savanna Samson. The other extras included some photogalleries, trailers, spam for various phone sex and other products, a short Savanna Samson biography, a positions room, and a double sided DVD cover.

Audio/Video Quality: When Strangers Meet was presented in the same 1.33:1 ratio full frame color it was shot in by director Paul Thomas for release by Vivid Entertainment. The idea here must've been to keep the professional lighting to a minimum in order to make it look like a natural setting rather than a porno. Being that we all know the whole thing is a movie, I'd rather Paul just dispense with the pretense and provide lots of flat lighting (the gals were certainly attractive enough to work under stronger lights). As a result though, there was some grain and minor video noise that added in with the shadows to weaken the visual elements. The camera work wasn't the best I've seen from a Vivid release in terms of composition (to make the gals look their best) but it was still slightly above average most of the time. The 2.0 Dolby Digital English audio track was interlaced with music that detracted from the sex too much but it wasn't as loud as some of Paul's previous releases. The vocals were sometimes on the low end though and more dirty talk might've made the movie better for me.

Body of Review: Vivid Entertainment has really had a great year in 2005 as evidenced by the strength of their releases, number of award nominations, and generally accepted improvements in their technical areas of expertise. They've made a few big hits as well as the usual number of compilations but today's review is on one of the smaller movies shot by Paul Thomas (under his alias Chuck Lords); When Strangers Meet. The scenes were all reality based with the cast having one-on-one sex with (supposedly) people they hadn't worked with previously. The concept was to generate some of that special magic you get when a couple has sex for the first time together and in some cases here, it worked out pretty well. Here's a quick look at the scenes by cast and action, noting that condoms were used but used well in conjunction with the sex:

Scene One: Roxy Jezel, an exotic gal from England known for her gonzo antics, was up first with Nick Jacobs, on a mattress on the floor after getting to know one another first. She wanted him to give her a massage but director Paul nixed it before it started (jerk!) and they went back to talking. Eventually, she gave him an energetic blowjob and he returned the favor by snacking on her lovely crack. They then went to boning on the mattress in several positions before he rubbed out a load onto her face. The sex included vaginal and anal (as expected) and she was a powerhouse of heat and energy here. In all, it was a good way to start the movie although I'd rather have seen Savanna at first.

Scene Two: Savanna Samson, the hotty on the front DVD cover, was wearing a blue sequined top and flimsy skirt as she followed the program and learned something about Justin Magnum on the couch. Like the other scenes, the point was to get strangers to meet for the experimental chemistry, but Savanna is capable of bringing out the best in anyone she meets from the scenes of her I watched. They played around a bit with him sucking her feet and each taking their time to appreciate the other (something I liked a lot) before the conventional sex began with each giving the other head. They took their time in that too which added to the fun a bit although I really wanted to see her tear into him orally. The screwing itself was almost anticlimactic and mechanical but overall, the scene was well done.

Scene Three: Kinzie Kenner, a cute hotty with long brown hair and pretty eyes, was up next with Frenchman Jean Val Jean at the counter separating the dining room and kitchen. She gave him a little striptease and he returned the favor, apparently making her wet. The general idea of caressing and playfully exploring one another was kept up and this added to the pleasure of the scene. Her blowjob was slow and seductive but gained in tempo as it went on. He tried to gag her with it and she spit on it a little as she diddled herself on the chair. He took over for her with his hand and mouth; getting her even more ready for the screwing with some spanking. They did some vaginal screwing with her actively riding him rather than letting him do all the work. It ended with a pop shot to her mouth and the scene was pretty good, if not her best scene to date.

Scene Four: Tory Lane, a bustier version of Kinzie with an equally cute face but wearing a pink outfit that truly looked great on her body, was up next with Matt Bixel on a zebra couch. They played more than most of the other couples in terms of the show and tell formula. Paul eventually gave them permission to touch one another though she got in some licking before he "allowed" it. She gave him a messy blowjob and titty fuck that nearly got him off though his oral to her was kind of weak. They screwed with some measure of abandon with her doing most of the work in the cowgirl position. There was PTM (pussy to mouth) and the scene ended with a messy facial.

Scene Five: Savanna Samson, wearing the outfit she wore on the front DVD cover, was the appropriate act to close out the show in a scene in the bedroom with Tommy Gunn. Their scenario was to pretend they "met" in traffic as they were driving along but thankfully, that wasn't shown. She helped him take off his clothes and from there all heck broke loose as they rubbed against one another with her giving him a lap dance. She savored the moment as she played with his cock, blowing him nicely before the scene proceeded. He gave her some too but the strength of the scene relied on her ability to look excited and the screwing itself. Her dirty talk didn't hurt either and he finished up by rubbing out a load onto her curvy ass.

Summary: When Strangers Meet was a nice little flick with two Savanna Samson scenes but also some good work by other attractive gals that have proven their sexual skills in the recent past. There were some nice extras and aside from some minor difficulties with the technical matters, it was probably better than average for a Vivid Entertainment release. I'm going to press my thumb down on the scale slightly in order to justify a rating of Recommended but fans of the cast will likely approve of this action since the attempt by Paul to offer something a bit more true to life seems to be appreciated in this day and age of reality television. Check it out and you'll see what I mean when I say that When Strangers Meet is worth meeting for some serious stroke value (especially fans of the cast).
