Extra's: For me, the best extra was the 7 minute long Behind the Scenes feature by Victoria Woodhill since it gave up so much additional Lanny time on camera. There were also five scenes from the Vivid vaults but none with Lanny so you can imagine my disappointment at that aspect of the extras. There were photogalleries, a limited biography for Lanny Barby, a positions room, trailers for titles like The New Devil In Miss Jones, When Strangers Meet, Circus and Janine's Been Blackmaled; a double sided DVD cover, and some of the usual spam for phone sex and other Vivid products.

Audio/Video Quality: Lanny's Summer Daze was presented in the same 1.33:1 ratio full frame color it was shot in by director Paul Thomas for release by Vivid Entertainment. Thankfully, the natural lighting in the main orgy scene was hard to mess up since it allowed the gals that something extra in terms of their sex appeal and kept the visual problems to a minimum. The indoor scenes weren't as good but they were a notch up from Paul's usual work here too with minimal grain and hardy any shadows to get in the way of the cast. The composition of the shots wasn't bad and Paul tended to make the ladies look good this time because of it. The stereo 2.0 Dolby Digital audio track was basic with the usual lame music punctuated by the moans and groans of the cast. There were some vocals other than that, primarily during interviews at the beginning of a few scenes but they were somewhat hollow and forgettable. The biggest problem was with the absolutely lame music that needed to be turned off or lowered in my professional opinion.

Body of Review: Lanny Barby may not be the most well known Vivid contract performer of recent years but 2005 sure has propelled her into the limelight with some of the best performances in porn and certainly outside the usual fare for a company like Vivid. While she's been seen in work by Jules Jordan too, I think her niche at Vivid is secure for being one of the best "new" gals in the stable, not to mention able to hold her own in the looks department as well. Her latest movie is Lanny's Summer Daze by Paul Thomas under his Chuck Lords alias and the small selection of scenes was only because the length of the first one. In other news, I wish there had been more of Lanny and others having sex here since a movie under 90 minutes is not the best of values, especially when the bonus scenes are from yesterday's performers, not Lanny herself. Here's a quick look at the scenes by cast and action, noting that condoms were used in the scenes:

Scene One: Meet the Girls/Jacuzzi Action: Lanny Barby, Naudia Hilton, Alexis Silver, Luccia, Van Damage, Barry Scott, Kris Slater, and Jay Huntington, were all up first after a brief introduction for the ladies at the summer pool party. The partners paired off in the hot tub and around the pool to do one another with Jay doing Nadia and Lanny doing Van being the focal points while the others were doing their thing too. The majority of the sex was blowjobs and cunnilingus followed by vaginal screwing but Lanny shined as she did anal like she was on fire for it. Her moans and groans added to the heat although the lame music wasn't helping any and the natural lighting enhanced the visual aspects more than a little bit in my opinion. While the entire cast was fairly well versed in sexual practices, Lanny was the best thing about the scene so fans will be happy to catch her in this one. For the record, the pop shots landed almost exclusively on the chests of the ladies rather than their faces.

Scene Two: Pool Table: Alexis Silver, a gal next door with a British accent and large breasts, was up next in a scene with Chris Charming. Okay, her teeth needed some fixing but the tease footage outdoors was solid and allowed the camera to catch every nook and cranny of her pussy. The actual scene took place in the game room on the pool table and a chair. Sexually, the action was limited to some oral by each of them, a titty fuck, and some screwing in her pussy in several positions. In general, while I didn't find her physically attractive, I recognized that she had some serious sexual skill on display here and the scene was playful enough to overlook her less than desirable facial characteristics. It ended with a titty fuck combined with some oral as he popped out a big load onto her chest.

Scene Three: Luccia Outdoors: Luccia, another all natural brunette with an okay face and an exotic accent that didn't really appeal to me a whole lot, was up with tattooed Barry Scott on a trampoline and by the waterfall. The sun looked natural on her body although she had less of a tan than I'd have thought possible considering her heritage. The pool itself looked rather nasty but her skill with a cock in her mouth and hand seemed to be above average as she sat on his face and otherwise got as good as she gave. It was an okay scene overall with her eventually showing some skill at riding in her pussy but I liked the way she smiled the whole time (as if having fun) and her enthusiasm won me over by the end of the scene. Scene Four: Lanny Gets Nasty: Lanny Barby, initially wearing a light blue crocheted outfit on the bed, was up last in a scene with Kris Slater. The sex was once again playful and erotic rather than circus act oriented but the way she worked his meat pipe in and out of her mouth was alone worth the price of admission to this show. In any case, he lost a rather healthy sized load at her hand and while this scene was far too short and limited, Lanny tends to make the most of what she has to work with.

Summary: Lanny's Summer Daze was not the best release by Vivid showcasing starlet Lanny Barbie but there was easily enough material with her in it to warrant a rating of Recommended for a fan like myself. If you aren't a fan of the busty brunette hotty, there were still some others worth taking a look at (perhaps the men if that's what floats your boat) though I'll be the first to admit that the fuck for the buck quotient was lower than I'd have liked with the main feature itself lasting under 90 minutes. Still, the majority of the first scene starred Lanny as did the final scene so you could do a lot worse than pick this one up. Check her out and I think you'll see what the buzz is about given her great performances and looks.
