Extra's: On the last several movies directed by James Avalon for Red Light District, he provided double disc packages full of great value in terms of the movie and extras. This was no exception to that rule and the second disc had a 41 minute long Behind the Scenes feature by Xavier Towers that was not only fun to watch but had lots of good sex and a short bit on pussy shaving for those who care. Fans of BTS features will find this one among the better releases from a gonzo company, not quite rivaling those from the high end Wicked Pictures movies but coming a lot closer than I'd ever imagine they could get. Imagine what'll happen after James gets some more experience under his belt with the company. I didn't find any trailers as advertised on the fold out style cardboard DVD case but there were some decent credits at the end of the movie that certainly helped me identify the players.

Audio/Video Quality: Babes In Black was presented in the same 1.85:1 ratio anamorphic widescreen color it was shot in by director James Avalon for distribution by Red Light District, perhaps best known for offering the best gonzo value in porn these days. The colors were slightly faded and the lighting not optimal this time but the sex was heated enough and the humor good enough to distract me more often than not. The colors were overly saturated and there was some grain due to the lighting but in all, I didn't mind the difficulties encountered on my viewing of the show. There weren't any compression artifacts observed but there was some shimmer in a few scenes due to the outfits worn by some of the cast. The 2.0 Dolby Digital stereo audio track was okay but there wasn't a lot of separation or dynamic range to speak of and the vocals seemed somewhat hollow at time. The music was disposable but I'm glad the money went into the other parts of the movie if they weren't going to spend a lot of dough improving it properly.

Body of Review: James Avalon is new to making movies for a gonzo company like Red Light District but he has the skills of an industry veteran honed from many years of making movies. I know RLD is going through some changes in their directorial staff but James seems to offer something most of them did not, hardcore sex INSIDE of funny movies worth watching outside of the sex. His latest is the parody called Babes In Black, a silly take off of the popular Men In Black series starring Tommy Lee Jones and Will Smith. In this version, the gals have to have sex to weaken the aliens before zapping them, a nice change of pace considering the gals were attractive and sexually skilled. I never saw Bustful of Dollars but his other two movies were excellent and I can see why they won awards all over the place. That said, here's a quick breakdown of the scenes by cast and action, noting that no condoms were used and no one was called in to choreograph the sex scenes:

Scene One: Syren, Veronica Stone, and John Strong were up first after Veronica and John went at one another in the fashionable living room often used in porn sets. She crawled with her ass in the air and gave him a powerfully persuasive blowjob to the thumping music; slobbing his knob with lots of messy saliva and energy, proving to me that she was a great choice for opening the show. They screwed in several positions vaginally before Syren, dressed up in her BIB outfit, joined in to assist. She did some PTOGM (sucking his dick clean out of Veronica's pussy) after telling them they were in danger and this elevated the heat of the action a fair amount. It ended with a pop shot jerked off to their breasts but I had hoped for more participation by Syren given her return to porn.

Scene Two: Jasmine Byrne, Veronica Stone, Marcus London, and John Strong, were up in the next scene although Veronica only masturbated as the men, garbed in goofy space outfits, tore into the lovely and talented Jasmine. The sex included great oral, power strokes in the vaginal and even some very driving anal in various positions. She actively participated in the thrusting and elevated the heat of the movie a couple of notches by herself. There was some choking and a DP but the sex was very well done in most ways with some interesting lighting to compliment the action. It ended with a facial after some taste testing but fans of Jasmine will likely find this one of her best scenes in recent months. Whew!

Scene Three: Monica Breeze and Kamela, were up next in a scene with Rusty Nails. This was one of those times I was glad there were credits because I wasn't familiar with any of them, even though they did a fine job of the varied sexual practices engaged in. Sexually, they started with a handjob, followed by oral, and then a whole lot of anal in various positions with all the taste testing trimmings. The scene took place in a living room with each of them dressed in black clothing but it was the fresh way they played with one another (as though they really wanted to be there) that impressed me the most. His shaft was small but he had some motion in the ocean that the gals enjoyed as they sucked, licked and otherwise appreciated his antics. I'm not going to outline every act but suffice it to say that fans of RLD's other James Avalon hits will find this one top notch, even as it ended with a facial followed by some cumswapping.

Scene Four: Syren, Veronica Stone, and Tommy Gunn were up next in a training montage of the two gals doing one another in a limited fashion before hiring Tommy to do Veronica on a motel room bed. He gave her his best stripping routine, reminding me of a slot machine I loved losing money to earlier this month ("Risque Business") except the studly muscleman was packing a bigger weapon than the fledgling BIB was prepared for by the looks of it. She inhaled his meat pipe in a sloppy fashion, leaving streamers all over the place, as she showed some serious skill at blowing men. They boned vaginally in a few positions after which he rubbed out a load to her mouth. She didn't swallow it down but it did lead to a funny bit involving mistaken identity.

Scene Five: Brianna Love, Ashley Gracie, Syren, Veronica Stone, Anthony Hardwood, Sean Michaels, and Kris Slater, had the final sex scene in the form of an orgy. There was a lot of oral pleasuring going on by the entire cast and the ladies seemed to appreciate being watched by the non-sex gals in the background. Brianna was easily the most extreme of the ladies given the way she had her ass impaled by the cocks but the others showed that extreme sex acts aren't the only tricks worth watching too. In general, the dirty talk combined with the multiple forms of sex and positions made this a scene with tremendous replay value (I watched it three times and it got better each time for me). That there was a lot of taste testing and cumswapping at the end was almost a given yet I longed to see the other gals get busier too. I think the editing could've been tighter and the music somewhat better but it was a well handled scene all around.

Summary: Babes In Black was worth a rating of Recommended for all it had to offer in terms of sexual activity, extras, and a cast of attractive yet skilled ladies. I would've liked more extras and better production values but the show was one I hope gets Mr. Avalon thinking about a sequel. When I met with the unassuming director earlier this month, he seemed surprised that anyone would want his picture but I think the quality of his work merited a lot more acclaim; acclaim he'll hopefully get as he continues to crank out great shows like he has been doing. In short; B.I.B. was out of this world in terms of humor and sex, the two factors fans look for when picking up a Red Light District release.
