Extra's: The best extra this time was the 9.5 minute long Behind the Scenes feature by Carey Radcliffe. It wisely started off with Katja Kassin and Evan Stone and eventually ended with a blowjob lesson. There was some photoshoot material, humor, and extra nudity so it added value although a lot of it was unlit and grainy. There were also some trailers, a slide show, spam and advertisements for Hustler but not much worth mentioning.

Audio/Video Quality: Fucking in the Name of Science was presented in an anamorphic widescreen color with an aspect ratio of 1.85:1 as directed by Caesar Bonoba for Hustler Video. It looked familiar to me in many ways but I couldn't place whose style it seemed to emulate (many directors work under aliases in porn so it was probably an established name). The lighting was generally decent and that limited the amount of grain, video noise, and other visual flaws to a bare minimum though the shadows were plentiful when there wasn't enough fill lighting. The composition of the shots wasn't always optimal for making the ladies look their best but handled well enough that I didn't mind watching it most of the time. There were no compression artifacts or mosquito noise thanks to reasonably good DVD mastering. The audio was presented in a 2.0 Dolby Digital stereo English though there was no separation between the channels from the vocals. The music wasn't a big factor but the movie did, in at least one instance, have some separation during the special effect sequence of Van Damage's scene.

Body of Review: Hustler Video has recently been attempting to broaden their horizons by releasing some comedy porn. While most fans associate comedy porn with Wicked Pictures and Digital Playground, the lucrative market for such titles is a natural for a company like Hustler (whose cartoons in their flagship magazine were often hilarious). Today's review of their latest release of Fucking in the Name of Science, was a sequel to their recent Doc MaCock show where Evan Stone is a sexual research doctor running an institute. There wasn't a plot or coherent story since the show was a series of interchangeable vignettes but there was a lot of potential to expand the concept in the future, along with some decent sex included here. This was what the back cover said about the movie: "Doc MaCock and his brilliant team of sex researchers get results even if they have to fuck their subjects to do it! Experience a sex ray that can cause an orgasm from 100 yards away. Imagine a strap-on that let's a woman really feel what it's like to fuck another woman. Watch a young housewife become an A+ student when she's given a crash course in anal sex! Compare the new Cyberskin 9000 dildo, just like the real thing, or better?" That said, here's a quick look at the scenes by cast and action, noting that no condoms were used and a few of the scenes were very well done:

Scene One: Sensostrap 9000: Nikki Hunter, the busty blonde on the front DVD cover, was up first as she sported a clear strap on dildo to work over the lovely Felix Vicious on a bed. It was funny and had some heat although it wasn't quite as good as it should have been.

Fans of lean, all natural gals will appreciate her more than most of the ladies in the movie and her oral skills have not declined since I last saw her work over a guy's meat pipe. From sucking the tip to going down on him full speed to using her breasts a little bit to enhance his experience, she soon went to riding him as though she had a deep itch to scratch and he was the only thing she could use to get to it. Unlike most of the other scenes, this one had some chemistry between the couple (I wish Evan had been given a shot with Katja to see if they'd be equally compatible) and that elevated the action quite a bit for me. It ended with the facial as expected and was almost as good as Katja's scene earlier.

Summary: Fucking in the Name of Science was not the best I've seen from Hustler of late but I enjoyed watching it more than a little bit, specifically for Dillan Lauren and Katja Kassin's respective scenes but even the worst weren't bad. Although the extras weren't all that great either, the fun factor elevated the DVD to the point where I decided to give it a rating of Recommended, hoping that the concept becomes a series and provides more fuck for the buck in later volumes. In all, there was something for almost everyone and while it showed a number of rough edges, it was pretty good with decent replay value much of the time.
