Extras: The best extra for me was easily the 26 minute long Behind the Scenes feature from the show. It had plenty of extra nudity, flubbed lines, humorous bits, and some information about the performers, and deleted footage from the show. The other extras were limited to a 5+ minute photogallery, and a double sided DVD cover for those who care (there were no "previews" as listed on the back DVD cover but the addition of the BTS feature easily made up for them).

Audio/Video Quality: Porno Revolution was presented in the same 1.85:1 ratio non-anamorphic widescreen color it was shot in by director Laurent Sky (AKA: Richard Hamilton) for Sky World Productions as distributed by Club Jenna and Vivid Entertainment. If you've seen any of the stylish Taboo series, you'll know exactly what to expect from this one as it employed the same stylish lighting, visual effects, and weird backgrounds as that series did. The movie looked better than many of his previous works in terms of lighting, limited grain, and effects but the style was often a bit more than I was hoping to see. This isn't to say it was a bad movie or poorly made but it hardly lived up to the hype such as the cover quote from the beautiful Jenna Jameson that stated: "Let the revolution begin, here comes Sky World domination." Once again, the effects were different, the lighting varied, and the amount of shadows and grain fairly low here. I didn't see any compression artifacts though the use of some slow motion action bugged me at times. The 2.0 Dolby Digital stereo audio track included a lot of droning music after the (C)rap introduction that sounded just like any other lame beat box tune with the vocals getting the second string here, though it was better than his last movie in how the vocals weren't always overwhelmed.

Body of Review: Laurent Sky is the type of guy you'd expect to see in middle management somewhere in corporate America if you were to see a picture of him in a police line up. Thanks to something inside his head though, he has decided to make a career of directing pornos with a slight edge to them. The latest such release is Porno Revolution, a movie that was amusing during the non-sex parts as it made it seem like a global oligarchy was in charge of all the porn we see, attacking the director for providing something fresh and new that none of the others in the field provided. I hate to use the term pretentious but if the shoe fits (more humor in this sense would've deflected my comment though the cast all speak of it with a deadpan stability that left out this possibility). Regardless, while it certainly wasn't as strokable as I've heard through the grapevine, and it wasn't as "different" as it wanted to be, it did have a few bright moments (sexually with Sandra Romain being the lead reason to pick it up as a rental). If you've liked his previous works though, this will be a lot more appealing to you than the so-called "alt-porn" of Eon McKai in all likelihood. Here's a quick breakdown of the scenes by cast and action, noting that the cast did not wear condoms:

Scene One: Sandra Romain, playing a cut rate barber in a skimpy red outfit, was up first as she gave studly Tommy Gunn, a close shave with a straight edge; edited into another scene where hotty Courtney Simpson played a dancer in a club with DJ Sascha providing her with what she needed to get off. Sandra sucked Tommy off at the same time Courtney did a sloppy blowjob on Sascha; with a split screen effect limiting the amount of screen each couple had at a given time. Sandra was the better oral queen of the ladies and the inclusion of gross Dirty Harry served to fuck with both scenes more than usual as he went back and forth between them. Admittedly, Sandra's ass looked fine as she inhaled Tommy's shaft with some corkscrew hand action, leading up to a sweaty anal fuck while Courtney took some vaginal action. Of the two, Sandra was always the top of the food chain in terms of passion, energy, skill, and drive though fans of skinny bleach blondes might prefer Courtney (who was certainly looking more traditionally attractive). Once Courtney warmed up, she also gave an enthusiastic performance with louder vocals then Sandra for those who care. It ended with some taste testing and each gal getting a slow motion pop shot to the face and mouth. I'd have preferred both scenes separated if asked though they were pretty decent in most ways.

Scene Two: Janet, a lean brunette with painted red highlights, showed off her lean, supermodel styled body with the trappings of the USSR in the form of the large CCCP all over her tiny outfit. She teased around an armored personnel carrier that looked like it was salvaged from the US forces in Vietnam until she was joined by Rudy; also decked out in clothing to indicate an alliance to Mother Russia, though his was more traditional military styled garb (much like the kind you get at the military surplus stores that isn't "really" from the military but suits the weekend commandos just fine). She inhaled his dick like she was working for Private; looking at the camera a lot as the camera zoomed in on her obvious implants. She liked to bone by the looks of it, including doing some anal with a driving and active ride missing from most contract performers these days. It ended when he jerked off on her metal flask for her to taste and clean off.

Scene Three: Ramona, another lean gal though this time looking much like an avant-garde artist in a large warehouse room covered with newspapers and spray painted with red letting and anarchy symbols, got to work with an effeminate guy by the name of Wein Lewis. Wein was wrapped up in plastic wrap with the appropriate spots cut away so he could fulfill his manly duties. She sucked him off with a measure of vigor as he looked down at her on her knees. He was then shown with the torso freed from the constraints of the wrapping in order to bone away at her pussy as he did all the work. She was built for speed more than comfort and while I appreciated that she was all natural (no implants or otherwise obvious enhancements), the scene was colder to me than anything I've watched from Private in a very long time. The limited amount of anal and the facial were nothing special and the end of the scene at least allowed me to enjoy some of the silly non-sex material offered up (it's pretty sad when you watch a porno and enjoy the non-sex stuff more).

Scene Four: Lexi Marie and Kathleen Kruz were up last in a stylish lesbian scene that had the cover gal (Lexi) dominated by Kathleen in a luxurious room. Both wore attractive black lingerie but seemed distant as they sucked, rubbed, and used toys on one another while some fatcat white dude watched them and seemed to record them using an old 8 mm film camera. The gals came across as though they were putting on a show for him, limiting the fantasy that they were into the action, and as he directed them, they were obviously going through the motions. To sum this scene up: looked good but was less filling.

Summary: Porno Revolution was kind of limited in terms of the levels of fuck for the buck but I can't deny cracking a smile several times during the non-sex material and there was some good sex going on in a few scenes. The BTS feature was more interesting for me than the last two scenes as well and seemed to serve as a time capsule for the movie and the times we live in so that made it worth watching at least once. As an overall experience though, if you're unfamiliar with Laurent's previous works, consider it as a Rent It since the lack of substance in much of the sexual footage will make it an acquired taste for most of you. It wasn't a bad show, just focused on a niche market that may not actually exist so consider this one with a few grains of salt.
