Extras: The best extra for most people will be the bonus scene not cultivated from a previous release but made strictly for this show of Lacie Heart and Kyle at it in a relatively barren living room. This was credited as Lacie's second sex scene on camera and while I still have my doubts, she was certainly no stranger to having a guy's dick in her mouth and pussy. It only lasted about 18.5 minutes but seemed kind of fun if not the best they could have offered. There was also a second bonus scene lasting 22.5 minutes with Roxanne Hall starring as a soccer mom in need of a lay, with Kris giving it to her in the bedroom. Audio/Video Quality: Shane's World 38 was presented in the same 1.33:1 ratio full frame color as shot by the nameless cameramen of the series (who don't get credit like Penny Flame has of late or the upcoming Devinn Lane volumes) for release by the Shane's World line for New Sensations. The series is supposed to look like it was shot by an amateur; something like many other Pro-Am series, and it did in virtually all scenes. The lighting would wash out the fleshtones, the camera would lose focus, and the composition of the shots varied at times but the raw energy of the show remained intact as the series tends to be good at. The 2.0 Dolby Digital English audio was decent but I didn't notice a lot of separation between the channels (the center channel provided pretty much all of the sound) and the dynamic range was about average for the series. The technical values in general were once again decent but a bit more work might help them even more in the future.

Body of Review: Shane's World has long been one of the better series for conveying a sense of fun along with the kind of variety most porn production companies seem afraid to attempt. For the most part, there are only two series that provide routinely pleasing action that doesn't follow a specific routine; Jack's Playground and the majority of titles from Shane's World. The latest release in the series, Shane's World 38: House Party (Collector's Edition), followed some of the cast as they partied up with a bunch of college age people (though no college affiliation or specifics were employed this time like Girls Night Out 1 and Girls Night Out 2. While not the strongest release in the series in regards to the fun factor and clarity of vision, the DVD had a lot to offer fans of porn who want something different, so here's a quick breakdown of the scenes by cast and action:

Scene One: Courtney Cummz, a very appealing blonde with a lean figure, was up in the first sex scene with Jerry after the group had some fun at the house party with a bunch of frat guys and coeds. The majority of the initial fun involved the gals stripping and working up the drunken crowd but she then went to sucking Jerry off like the seasoned champion that she is. The couple then left the party and started from scratch in the private room by the couch, with her gagging as she sucked and jerked him off (spitting to lube him up). Scene Three: Leah Luv, a lean blonde that has been making a lot of porn in recent months, was up next on a couch with the infamous Kurt Lockwood. This came after some midgets were dancing around with the other ladies so if seeing a sedate professional lay back for some head seems like a step forward, I have news for you. In terms of porn action, it was a straightforward oral and vaginal bang but the trio had some chemistry together that added replay value to go with the energetic performances by the cast.

Summary: Shane's World 38 was barely worth a rating of Recommended to me given the jumbled way the action moved back and forth for little or no reason. I almost gave it a rental status but the extras were solid with three bonus scenes and the level of fuck for the buck was pretty good too. The problem for me here was largely the misuse of gals like Penny Flame and the hodgepodge of source material that seemed ill suited to be put together as part of the same movie (maybe a "Shane's World: The lost Footage" type of show would've made more sense for some of it). While I can appreciate that most of the Shane's World universe is non-linear, at least having a beginning, middle and end was in order (but missing) so check it out but don't expect as much as the series has offered up in the past.
