Extras: For most of you, the best extra will be the bonus scene between Cramen Hart and Tommy Gunn from the upcoming movie Honky Tonk Woman. It looked like the movie would be a lot of fun with the two of them sharing some chemistry as they sucked and fucked Texas style! I also appreciated the 19.5 minute long All Access: Behind the Scenes of Rendezvous by Mark Stone (and edited by former director Guy Capo!). It was fun, had some extra sex footage, and stands up as a solid production that added value to the DVD release. Another fun extra was the 36.5 minute long session where Mark taped Carmen getting her sex toy mold made by the folks at Doc Johnson. I've seen these featurettes before and it amazes me what a gal will put up with to have her body parts immortalized for posterity. There was then a 17.5 minute interview of Carmen Hart with Kristen Price hanging out with the North Carolina sweetie. I also liked the audio commentary with Carmen Hart and David Stanley. David and Carmen both spoke at length about the technical matters, the wild anecdotes they had from the movie's production, and whatever popped in their minds about the two day shoot. There were also a number of photogalleries and star statistics, a classy cardboard protective sleeve, two promotional reels, DVD ROM materials like Wicked Awards and Nominations, company profile, and desktop pictures, a DVD catalog, some spam, and trailers to shows like Eternity, Camp Cuddly Pines, All About Keri, Sold, Secrets of the Velvet Rings, But I'm With The Band, and others.

Audio/Video Quality: Rendezvous was presented in the usual 1.85:1 ratio anamorphic widescreen color as shot by director David Stanley for Wicked Pictures. The use of lighting was moody with the use of shadow nearly as visually compelling this time, lending a slightly saturated color to the fleshtones of the scene. The video noise was minimal and the composition of the scenes was extremely well taken care of, enhancing the look of the ladies in all cases. The editing helped in this regard and the movie struck me as the second time I can state that David's attempt at art was completely successful. The audio was presented with numerous choices, the primary one being a 5.1 Dolby Digital Surround English track that balanced the vocals and music nicely. There were also 2.0 Dolby Digital tracks with Spanish and German available for those who care but the fact is that the dubbing seemed quite off on both of them to me. Otherwise, the audio seemed to be a step forward for Wicked Pictures, even though the vocals were almost certainly recorded in monaural or dubbed in later. Still, the music was well done and the overall quality of the audio was better than average as well. As a side note, there were optional Italian subtitles, though I'm not sure how many people use them (an English language subtitle track might be worth exploring; perhaps a written commentary).

Body of Review: David Stanley has long been a pornographer with a desire to do something artistic rather than shoot the same old stuff day in and day out. His creative personality has led him to get kind of grump towards reviewers (like me) that try to objectively critique his works, especially frustrating for the man when he was locked into directing assembly line porn. The reviews reflected the product (not "art" since most of it was churned out like cogs in a factory), ultimately causing him to leave his job for a spot in a company that would give him enough freedom to succeed, or fail, according to what consumers wanted. That company was Wicked Pictures, and to date, his works have been substantially better in most ways than what I saw of him prior to his arrival at the company. His latest release for the company was a warm comedy invoking the spirit of the 1960's romantic comedies that Hollywood used to make, adding in ample doses of hot sex in a title called Rendezvous, the first Wicked Pictures release starring the lovely and talented Carmen Hart. One glance at the wonderfully attractive front cover to the movie told me I'd like it but I wasn't prepared to see what a solid sexual dynamo Carmen would turn out to be (looks can be surprising). The back cover put it this way: "Bill (Randy Spears) was ready to enjoy a nice relaxing and peaceful vacation, but when he wakes up to find sexy Carmen Hart in his bed, peace and relaxation are the last two things on his mind. What follows is a hilarious and unrestrained weekend filled with gorgeous women and nonstop sexcapades! With accommodations like these who want to relax?" Well, that said, here's a quick look at the scenes by cast and action, noting that condoms were used by the men but the sex was very well done, coming off like lightning in a bottle:

Scene One: Jamie Huxley, an appealing brunette with an all natural body, was up first as she kicked back to let Barrett Blade go down on her in the bed. It was pleasant and led to her giving him a hand assisted hummer, complete with lots of slobber. The levels of energy and chemistry between them were solid and while it wasn't a gonzo scene, she provided plenty of visual appeal as she inhaled him before the vaginal ride. She was only slightly active during the ride but he popped a larger load than normal, giving me the impression that he was more into her than most of his onscreen partners or he hadn't made a scene of late.

Scene Two: Joanna Angel, the queen of alt-porn with weird hair and lots of tattoos, was up next with Chris Cannon in the form of a scene from a porno that Carmen and Randy were watching in the bed. Joanna was a messy eater in the artistic dining room and this led to Chris eating and fingering her as a warm up. Joanna was clearly having a great time and the two of them exuded a lot of enthusiasm as they attacked one another; her blowjob being a distinct highlight of the flick. The vaginal and anal sex wasn't as active on her part but her vocals and playful demeanor were enough for him to coat her lower abdomen more than I could, with her eating the cum soaked cookie easily as a tasty treat.

Scene Three: Carmen Hart, the beautiful new contract gal showcased in the movie (as seen on the front DVD cover), was up next as she had a lesbian scene with the maid (played by Mika Tan). Mika looked different here, in a good way, with Carmen jamming most of her hand inside Mika's pussy as she ate her out like a champion. This being her first scene with the company (she has only made a few scenes to date), there was a lot of pressure on her to earn that contract; acquitting herself very well as she generated more than a little heat. I like watching women together and the two of them seemed to work with solid chemistry as Carmen was in charge all the way. Yum!

Scene Four: Stephanie Tripp, yet another attractive lady with a look I want to know better, provided Talon with what many people know is a world class blowjob. She went all the down on him as she showed the others how to deepthroat and while it didn't last long, the playfulness factor was sweet and replayable.

Scene Five: Carmen Hart, almost in response to the last scene and wearing a very nice red dress, started the following scene by blowing Eric Masterson at the front desk. His role as the clerk was hilarious throughout the movie and I thought this was a swell reward for him. Her oral was just as good as Stephanie but the vaginal ride was the most heated of the show. She bounced on his lap by impaling herself and if this is a sign of things to come, the other contract gals at Wicked Pictures (and I'm a huge fan of several of them) are going to need to ramp it up a notch. She was outstanding and able to keep up with just about any of the gonzo queens I've watched in months. They mentioned it during the commentary track and I went back over my original description, finding that the couple and I were in complete agreement over how much fun and wild the scene was.

Scene Six: Carmen Hart and Randy Spears, both in bed as the two revived the wacky romantic mainstream comedies of years gone by, had a silly scene where they got drunk and them woke up in bed to have the ending scene. Without sounding like Carmen's personal fanboy, her look provided the backdrop for the scene to get really interesting. The kissing and foreplay the two shared was very appealing with the story elements culminating in the bedroom scene. The dynamic of the scene was different in that the couple seemed to be tearing each other a new one and Carmen's hip grinding once again made me sit up and take notice. I truly hope she never loses this active and aggressive style of screwing, almost as if she was trying to hump him dry. The foot fetish material was present (he licked her feet and she jerked him off with her tootsies, ending when he got a little more pussy and jerked off all over her. Whew!

Summary: Rendezvous proved that director David Stanley can excel at comedy porn far better than some of the edgier movies he was known for a few years back. He may not be the next Jonathan Morgan but I think he's found his niche at Wicked Pictures; providing the kind of smaller, more intimate movies that sometimes showcase a star better than the blockbusters Jonathan or Brad Armstrong win so many awards for. In that sense, David has finally caught up to where he needs to be; giving us internet reviewers a lot more material to work with than we had when he was at Vivid. I can now consider myself as a newly minted fan of Carmen Hart who led the flick in terms of raw sexuality to make this movie one I thought was full of fuck for the buck, earning a rating of Highly Recommended based as much on the ladies, the extras, and heated scenes, as the technically appealing production values, replay value and fun factor so often missing in modern porn. In short, Rendezvous was a movie you'll want to see again and again, thanks as much to superstar-in-the-making Carmen Hart as the talented direction of David Stanley.
