Extras: The movie is another of the double disc sets that Sin City has been putting out of late and possessed a number of decent extras worth checking out. The best of these was a 15 minute long Behind the Scenes feature shot by Johnny "Bad Bob" Thrust, focusing on some of the preparation of the scenes and the associated cast & crew goofing off. There was extra nudity and sex but the majority of time seemed spent on what could be called photographic moments. Another great extra was a series of interviews by most of the ladies, with the not-so-surprising exception of former contract star Hannah Harper. Each gal got a few minutes to talk and fans will find a few, though limited, surprises in store for them here. There was also a set of three photogalleries and trailers to shows like Rock Hard, with a cumshot compilation from the scenes, some spam, and a true double sided DVD cover.

Audio/Video Quality: Sodom 2: The Bottom Feeder was presented in 1.85:1 ratio anamorphic widescreen color as shot by director Jim Powers for Sin City. It wasn't the best looking movie he's shot of late but it was reasonably well handled on technical levels with some of the lighting causing grain, video noise, and other minor issues. Part of this was thanks to the theme of the show; a dark theme where the emphasis on depravity was never fully realized. Unfortunately, these elements also made some of the scenes look weaker than they could've otherwise been if handled more straightforwardly. I saw no compression artifacts and the flesh tones were accurate but as much as I appreciated Jim's attempts to push the limits of the genre, he'll need to do more in the future to actually accomplish it. The audio was presented in a 2.0 Dolby Digital stereo English but it was also a case where the reach outweighed the grasp. The vocals were often hollow and the dubbed in portions weren't very clear, just as the music seemed to be generic to the point of getting in the way.

Body of Review: Jim Powers is one of those directors that tries very hard to combine stylish elements in his hardcore pornography. How this works out is still just as dependant on the casting as anyone else in the field but at least he tries for something different. His latest flick is Sodom 2: The Bottom Feeder, a story about a gal played by Hannah Harper (not Tory Lane as the cover would lead you to believe), who is driven to the depths of depravity after she encounters a hitchhiker on the road one evening. The boxcover said: "Anal Hell awaits eight nasty sluts who soon will descend into the darkest depths of sexual depravity imaginable. The story of Sodom continues as these filthy ass whores are subjected to the most outrageous anal abuse ever witnessed in scenes that stretch even the wildest imagination, pummeling their once tight assholes into wide open gapes, stuffing their pussies and mouths with miles of rock hard cock until they howl and scream like untamed animals. No mercy... only raw, uncontrolled anal debauchery, the likes of which can only live in the twisted minds of the truly perverted." Here's a look at the scenes by cast and action, noting that no condoms were used:

Scene One: Roxy Jezel, in a netted fetish outfit, was up first as she masturbated in the back seat of the car at night. The scnee served as much as a warm up as anything else, but picked up soon after with Billy Glide in the bed. Still, compared to gals like Tyla or Roxy, she's a contract gal at heart and tends to rely on looks over skill, even here with Jim Powers in charge of the movie. There was no chemistry between them but the mechanics of the fucking served well to excite, getting more out of her than most directors did during her contract years.

Scene Five: Tory Lane, the hotty on the front DVD cover, cutie Melissa Lauren, and lucky stud Billy Glide, were up next in a bedroom scene where Tory completely dominated the fun. The oral was clearly the best and most aggressive of the movie with all sorts of minor variations as the gals jerked, sucked, and impaled their throats with enthusiasm. The dirty talk was off the charts and fans of it will want to turn up the volume and hear every nuance, including little slips not caught in editing. The scene ended with Melissa taking the facial and sharing it with Tory, marking the best scene of the flick for me.

Scene Six: Hannah Harper, in the weirdest scene of the movie, was up last as she awoke in a bathtub full of blood(?) and proceeded to go to a room full of sex toys that all seemed to attack her. She was oiled up and ran to the kitchen where she met Roxy Jezel masturbating on the floor, asking her why she (Roxy) came into their lives. This led to her running away and bumping into Rick Masters and Jenner, both men giving her mouth, pussy, and ass a workout. She looked great during the scene and while not as sexually aggressive as a few of the others, she at least came across as having an itch to scratch this time. They even DP'ed her (one in the pussy and the other in the ass) with some taste testing before blowing their loads into her mouth and onto her face, with the movie completing the circle with Hannah as the hitchhiker at the end.

Summary: Sodom 2: The Bottom Feeder offered up a lot of heated sex and the advertised depravity by a talented cast. There was a lot of fuck for the buck and the two disc set provided some solid replay value although the movie itself had some substantial flaws. In all, it was worth a rating of Recommended for the way it showcased the ladies, provided a wealth of sexual twists, and seemed to be shot with some level of care to the movie. I tend to appreciate Jim's manner of shooting his titles with the ultimate consumer in mind more than reviewers though the budgetary concerns probably played a role in why this one seemed to have some loose ends in need of fixing. Still, fans of the cast might consider this one a must have depending on how much of a slavering fanboy you are towards the gals.
