Audio/Video Quality: Ass Jazz was presented in the usual 1.33:1 ratio full frame color as shot by director Jazz Duro for distribution by Evil Angel. This was the second title in the Buttman Magazine Choice series, presumably an effort to recruit new directors that love ass as much as John "Buttman" Stagliano. The last release in the series I saw, Smother Me by Canadian anal prophet Uncle D was good enough to win the weekly spotlight title in the Blue Room Column this past week so I was really juiced up about seeing what Jazz could do for my libido. In terms of the picture quality, it was about as good as Buttman used to provide when he was starting out, full of intimate shots of pussy, tits, and most importantly, ASS, though there was a fair amount of grain to be seen. The lighting was much like a lower end gonzo flick too but the movie was saved as much by his compositional talent as the overall raw energy of the action. There were no compression artifacts and the other visual matters weren't terrible but this was definitely not up to the usual Evil Angel standards in terms of looks. The audio seemed to be presented in a monaural track cleaned up by 2.0 Dolby Digital processing, relying on the built in microphone to capture the limited vocals of the three scenes. It wasn't bad but I've found recent gonzo titles working on this area to be better.

Body of Review: Jazz Duro has been a meat puppet for some time now and decided it was time to branch out and start directing, just like many other performers have done in recent years. His first work was good enough to be picked up by Evil Angel and was called Ass Jazz as a tribute to the man's name and his love of firm, round female ass. The back cover said it this way: "Buttman sez, "Jazz Duro knows ass. It's rare when I find someone more obsessed with ass than I am." Jazz does a lot of things right. 1) He has good looking girls with big, fine asses. 2) They all do big anal. 3) The girls talk to us. We get to know each girl, not in an interview, but in the tease and sex. They talk so we get to know something about who they really are. 4) Lots of ass tease, on each girl, in sexy clothes. And they are always wearing high heels for this. 5) Toys, the usual butt plugs and glass dildos, and really fun ass toys like speculums and blow-up butt plugs! 6) Gapes, can we ever get enough of them? Often achieved by two-hand ass spreads by the girl herself. That works for me. 7) Face-sitting. This separates the men from the boys. Do you really love ass or are you just trying to make a buck putting "anal" in the title of your movie? 8) Rough, hard sex! This ain't your daddy's porno. 9) Hard fetish: throat fucking, face slaps, foot fetish, shoe fetish (love those red shoes!), breath restriction, anything goes (well, almost anything). 10) And most important, the girls are enjoying themselves, showing off like they mean it." In a world full of anal titles, getting the nod from the master of the genre himself is akin to a squeal of approval second to none (not even me) so here's a quick look at the scenes by cast and action, noting that no condoms were used:

Scene One: Julie Paiva, a pretty brunette with a curvy ass wrapped in jeans with her tits covered in neon pink mesh, was up first with studly Jazz Duro. He came over to see her and she was reading a Buttman magazine by the small pool in a chair. Once he said hi, she was devoted to providing him with the kind of heated tease footage that porn hero John "Buttman" Stagliano always favors, making this "Choice" pick of his a natural in my mind. She licked and kissed the camera lens before it cut away to some topless footage of her with the excruciatingly slow ass tease as she lowered her jeans ever so slightly to let loose those cheeks of war. Her tan line was perfect and after eventually stripping down, she went inside to change her clothes for Jazz. The white fishnet material accentuated her tan all the more and she then started masturbating with a clear serrated anal plug (in both holes mind you) to stretch herself out as much as get off. Jazz joined her to assist in the toy play and gave her some oral, with the sloppy blowjob starting almost 35 minutes into the scene (talk about healthy doses of tease!). She spit on his rod and the camera, savoring the taste of his penis before blindfolding him for an active bit of face riding, making me want to trade spots with him. They skipped right to the anal after that, using cock and inflatable ass plug to give her a huge gape. The rest of the hour long scene was full of more anal, ATM, and toy use, with both of them clearly into the other with some chemistry and enthusiasm that went beyond mere economic matters. The ending facial closed it out and it was a very good start.

Scene Two: Isabel Ice, an English brunette that has been established as a force in hardcore porn, reminded me of a curvier version of Ashley Blue, as she took the tour with Jazz Duro in a taxi. The travelogue aspect of the scene was interesting and I would've loved to see a shot of the cabbie's face with the amount of dirty talk she gave, slyly masturbating discretely at one point. It took almost ten minutes of this to get to the apartment but she stopped to blow him in the hallway, even though she claimed she "didn't know the neighbors". A talented fellatrix, she gave a messy bit of head and almost caused him to pop early, putting his dick away for another type of play. She showed him around her flat and then teased him with a sexy red & black outfit that did little to cover her up. She had some wild toys to play with (the lengthy metal anal plug was a sight to be sure) and after warming up, she gave him some of that fine round ass to enjoy. He started fucking her ass pretty hard after all the toy play, leading to some ATM and more anal of course. Fans of foot fetish action will know that she has proven to be flexible enough to suck her own toes (which she did here before jerking him off with the feet) but it was the pounding anal and ATM combination that over time caused him to launch his healthy load all over her face and chest. If you like gals with some meat on their bones, she's a dream come true and had a lot of talents worth exploring for anal fans.

Scene Three: Emanuelle Diniz, a manly looking gal with a hot ass, was up last as she presented Patricia Kimberly; a gal with neon red hair to be presented as a present to Jazz Duro. The gals started off the action by using huge toys on each other (Patricia getting the majority of action) that were either glass or clear plastic. As a method of tease, it wasn't as effective for me as the clothed bending over and rubbing but it was still pretty warm to watch as they spoke a foreign tongue during the scene (Brazilian?). The blowjob action was as sloppy as ever with the gals ganging up on his rod, choking it down as though in a contest with one another. This messed up the camera lenses but they kept going and returned from cleaning the lens to show Jazz porking Emanuelle anally with some ATOGM by Patricia. Both gals got some anal though and assisted each other in the process. It had a fair amount going for it but it still lacked the quality of the previous two scenes in terms of tease and anal play. On the other hand, some of you might enjoy that there was so much lesbian play by gals that did not seem to fit the definition of lipstick lesbianism, adding something different, though not always better, to the mix. It ended when he came on their ass cheeks (they were set up with Emanuelle on top of Patricia) and the camera lens.

Summary: Ass Jazz showed that Evil Angel has made great strides in their recruitment process by actively searching out talented new directors that embody the mission of their fearless leader to seek out new ass and boldly go where no man has gone before (well, something like that). In that sense, I think Jazz Duro earned a rating of Recommended and would've been even higher if he had tightened up the third scene a bit more. The extras were weak too but in fairness, if you were to compare this title with many from some of the leading booty-ologists of our day, I think he'd compare rather well with this offering. I'm told the second volume that comes out next month is even better so keep your eyes peeled and let me know if you get a chance to see it before I do. In all though, the tease and sex of the first two scenes was better than most full releases these days, giving the DVD a goodly amount of fuck for the buck. Check it out!
