Extras: The best extra was the 19 minute long Behind the Scenes feature. There was more nudity and sex but much of it was Jake trying to show his innate superiority to the ladies. There was also a photogallery and a double sided DVD cover though the second side was advertising of other covers only.

Audio/Video Quality: Sex Slaves was presented in the standard 1.33:1 ratio full frame color, as most porn is shot these days, by director Jake Malone for Platinum X Pictures. The picture was decent and showed some improvement over older releases by Jake with often nice lighting, solid composition of most shots (making the women look more appealing than usual), and good fleshtones, though he still has a way to go to be as technically adept as some of his peers. There was a small, light watermark with the Platinum X Pictures logo on the bottom right hand corner of the picture but few people seem to mind it these days considering the amount of fuck for the buck being offered and the understanding that piracy is so prevalent. The audio was presented in the usual 2.0 Dolby Digital stereo English and was generally well done although it wasn't anything out of the ordinary for a gonzo production. I could hear the gals moan, groan, and talk dirty so I was pleased with it but there wasn't any separation between the channels and the dynamic range wasn't all that great either.

Body of Review: Platinum X Pictures has been one of the gonzo companies in the last few years that has impressed me for the amount of circus act sex they have shown; often not making the ladies look lame as some of the other extreme companies seem to do but getting better than average performances out of them all the same. Director Jake Malone is best known in this regard and while he just announced that he's leaving the company for Evil Angel, he still has plenty of titles to be released such as Sex Slaves. The idea of the movie is much like that of most of Jake's "deviations" in that he treats the women like shit in an effort to elevate his own status as the nasty old dude who can fuck with women that'd kick him in the nuts in real life unless they were paying him premium rates. I don't always like Jake's style but he does manage to cater to the abuse gonzo market as well as anyone else you may know (Max Hardcore, JM Productions, Extreme Associates) so if you want to see premium pussy and ass get the kind of abuse the other companies show with substandard gals, you'll like this one. Here's a breakdown of the scenes by cast and action, noting that no condoms were used in the scenes:

Scene One: Sasha Knox, an extremely cute gal with a ball gag in her mouth, black gloves, fishnet stockings, stripper shoes, and red fetish shorts with matching tape on her nipples, was up first with Benjamin Bratt and Jake Malone after she teased the camera at Jake's insistence. His verbal abuse of her did nothing for me but those of you into dominating women you'd never get without paying for them first will appreciate the raw sensuality of the scenes opening moments. Her pretty eyes looked great as she blew him enthusiastically, him trying his best to throat fuck her to tears with his modest member in the POV hummer. Ben entered the scene with a huge anal dildo to ravage her ass before stretching her out to prepare her for some live cock. There was footplay as she sucked his feet, salad tossing as she rimmed him silly (lots of rimming here), and plenty of anal by the men as she'd blow one while the other planked her from behind. She was more of a fuck toy than an active participant; with the jumping of the shark for me when Ben stepped on her neck (about the least erotic thing a guy can do in porn). She swallowed their loads and looked a bit worn when she was told to crawl away like a whore.

Scene Two: Naomi, the bubble butted cutie standing on the front DVD cover along with Liv Wylder and Annette Schwarz, were up next with Manuel Ferrara. The initial tease had Naomi alone with the other two ladies as pony gals that orally serviced her ass and other body parts. The fetish attire was okay but limited access to what they could do, with Manuel fucking Naomi doggy style from behind before the others did PTOGM on his cock. It was a visually interesting scene that was not marred by the extreme nature of Jake's nasty streak and verbal abuse, significantly elevating the scene by comparison. Naomi wasn't at her best but she was a darned fine fuck here, better than most of her early work without even trying.

Scene Three: Aubrey Addams and Max, a couple more attractive ladies wearing skimpy fetish outfits, teased the camera outside on a cloudy day. Max acted like a Russian stripper in her paramilitary outfit, ending up dominating Aubrey who played at being a submissive. The scene itself took place in the house, with Aubrey bound, gagged, and blindfolded in the closet for Max to take care of, proving the perfect lesbian sex angle until Manuel Ferrara joined them. Aubrey serviced Max orally front and back, receiving some face sitting as Max sat down on her handily. The spanking was expected and I think the scene would have been substantially better if Jake didn't interfere by "suggesting" what should happen next. The dick shaped squirt gun was goofy but Aubrey's oral skills with a dick worked out nicely; showing she'd had plenty of experience to work with. Max took anal fairly well and Aubrey did vaginal (she also did a bunch of ATOGM as she sucked his cock clean out of Max's ass) with the expected facial ending the action.

Scene Four: Cherrie Rose, one of the hottest looking gals of the movie, was up last as she teased the camera in the fetish attire so popular in the movie. I got the impression that the couple had some decent chemistry with each other and Jake did not squawk like he had previously; a good thing to me. She did lots of ATM and salad tossing in between the anal positions and I though she was quite good though a bit rough around the edges in terms of skill. He blew his wad on her face and the floor for her to lick up, glazing her thoroughly as she called herself a cum sucking whore.

Summary: Sex Slaves was a decent example of the directing style of Jake Malone. For better or worse, he's an acquired taste and while I may not like some of the tricks he used here, I thought most of the women were skilled at conveying the kind of heated performances Jake needs to stay a step ahead of the competition. As far as ratings go, I was on the fence since it lacked as much stroke value as I prefer but was worlds better than some of the titles I've seen rated rather highly here and at other websites so I split the difference and rated this one as Recommended. Most of you will either love it or hate it though so read the breakdowns of the scenes to decide what works best for you, keeping in mind that there was a lot of abuse fuck for the buck even if the extras were on the weaker side.
