Extras: The main extra was a couple of bonus footage sessions adding up to 16.5 minutes. The majority of the time was spent on the interview (Get to Know Jessie), with a few minutes on outtakes. She described her boyfriend going to jail for a long time, how much sex takes place in Portland Oregon because of all the rain and easy women, and seemed to like porn a lot more than she did when she quit the business recently. Audio/Video Quality: Playing With Jessi Summers was presented in the usual 1.33:1 ratio full frame color by director Jimmy D. for Anarchy Films. The lighting was subdued in most of the scenes to cover some of the visual flaws and that added some grain but I thought Jimmy provided some very well handled compositional work that almost always made Jessi look her best. This volume in the series did not have multiple angles to pick from during the striptease (at least the icon never lit up and my other players showed no ability to switch when I tapped the button on my remote control) and that limited the replay value of the show for me but the actual sex portions of the show did offer up little icons to hit so that a second angle could be accessed. On a brighter note, the picture did show some improvement over the last volume I saw earlier this year. The level of picture quality was close to that seen on the industry standard versions by Digital Playground and Digital Sin but it is a lot easier to shoot, allowing Anarchy Films to pump these out far more frequently. There were no compression artifacts and I thought the visuals were decent, if not the very best I've seen from Jimmy in the past. The audio was presented in 2.0 Dolby Digital English but there really wasn't any separation between the channels in the vocals or the music score. It was plain and handled okay (though a few clips sipped past the editing bay) but some day; I'd like to hear a company really work up a 5.1 track for demonstration purposes to my perverted friends.

Body of Review: Jimmy D. has long been one of my favorite directors in porn, not just for the quality of his work (still or video) but also for the way he tells it like he sees it and isn't a two faced shithead like so many of his peers. His latest work to cross my path is Playing With Jessi Summers, a virtual sex title where the viewer can ostensibly watch her have various forms of sex and control the camera angle some of the time. If you've seen the Virtual Sex series and My Plaything series by other companies, you'll be aware of the general limitations of the genre, though this series has less options than they do. The cover said it like this: "Do you know what time it is? It's time to play with Jessi Summers in her first ever sex simulator film. Make her strip, play with toys, masturbate, and tease for you and only for you. It's all done with a push of a button. You can play with her tits, get a blowjob and of course sex in different angles. Pick up a copy today and see for yourself why the Playing With series is one of the top selling virtual sex simulator features in today's market. You can play with Jessi all Summer long!" Now that Jessi has found peace outside of the industry and controlled her battle with substance abuse, this title serves as one of the best displays of her skill for fans and she did not appear to be on anything when enjoying her work for the day. Here's a quick look at the clips the show offered up for fans, noting that no condoms were used:

Foreplay: The foreplay section of the DVD was fairly limited but allowed for the viewer to see Jessi in all her glory doing various forms of sexual activity that stopped just short of actual penetration. This is one of the standard types of virtual sex playing as it allows the viewer to warm up.
1) Striptease: Jessi is the attractive hotty on the front DVD cover and she has a very nice figure that combines the two concepts of a) built for speed and b) built for comfort with an emphasis on the leaner figure most men seem to prefer. It doesn't last very long (about 4 minutes) but that's okay since I like seeing more of this young hotty as she wiggled and gyrated across the screen.
2) Play W/Toys: The action then went to Jessi in her birthday suit riding a Sybian (with two camera angles but distorted audio) and then using a glass dildo to masturbate with and taste after getting it wet with her own juices. This ended around the 13:20 minute mark of the movie to find her giving John a handjob.
3) Hand Job: The handjob proper started with Jessi stroking him but unlike other volumes in the series, she did little talking to the camera about what she wanted to do. I'd volunteer for her next volume given the way she seemed so in tune with his needs except that she's left porn for religious reasons.

5) Foreplay: This reverted the scene back to the foreplay options.
6) Sex: This started the action back to the beginning of the penetrative sex positions.
7) Cum Now: This was where John shot his load onto her chest and face at the 40:57 minute mark, getting a fair amount of it into her mouth. It was a decent sized load by the looks of it and while she didn't swallow it, it was still well handled.

Summary: Playing With Jessi Summers showed off the hotty as well as her work in Deeper and Down The Hatch 19 and fans of hers should consider this one a must have title to enjoy as something of a swan song by the gal. She only made a dozen or so movies before leaving porn and I swear I recall running into her at the 2006 AEE Show but outside of the unlikely event of her comeback, check this one out as a Rent It since the limited amount of footage and extras diminished the appeal to me more than a little bit. Still, fans that haven't picked up a copy of the title will probably find it her best work to date in some ways given her chemistry with studly John West and the complete focus on her as the lead.
