Extras: The best extra was the bonus scene between Joey, Sascha, and Trent Tesoro in the living room. She began with some toy use and then took them on in her mouth and pussy; with Trent having erection problems and getting the boot early on. It lasted 29 minutes or so and she seemed happy with Sascha's skills. There was also a fun Behind the Scenes feature that lasted about 11 minutes; showing as much photoshoot material as anything else, revealing some of the secrets of the shoot. There was also a decent photogallery, a pop shot compilation and a cardboard protective sleeve covering the DVD case.

Audio/Video Quality: Grand Slam was presented in the same 1.85:1 ratio non-anamorphic widescreen color it was shot in by director Mike Metropolis for Combat Zone. The lighting was generally quite solid, which limited the grain, video noise, and other technical flaws a whole lot. There were no compression artifacts or mosquito noise though I'd be lying to say the composition of the shots was always flattering to the ladies. The fleshtones were accurate though and I had few other issues with the visual aspects of the show. The audio was presented in a 2.0 Dolby Digital English presentation with little worth commenting on. The vocals during the movie were limited by the nature of the gangbang and the music was not a major factor either.

Body of Review: Mike Metropolis is a director best known for his work at Devil's Films or Smash Pictures. His style is nothing out of the ordinary with a leaning to simply showing the ladies off as they do their outlined acts. This style works best on gals with some experience on camera though and newcomers tend to look a bit lost as a result. His latest work is his first at new home Combat Zone, called Grand Slam. The idea was to provide three short gangbang scenes where the men would come in one by one on the ladies as they learned to accommodate the previous parts (going from one on one to two on one, etc.). If that's what you're looking for, here's a quick breakdown of the scenes by cast and action, noting that no condoms were used and the men weren't identified:

Scene One: Roxxxy Rush, a brunette newcomer to porn, was dressed in a black & pink outfit with matching fishnet stockings and a short camouflaged skirt that did little to hide her virtues. The setting was a room converted into a stage with white plastic sheets for walls and Astroturf style mats placed on the floor to give the gangbangs a baseball feel. After some limited discussion with the cameraman, presumably Mike Metropolis, she began by sucking off Andrew Andretti with a modicum of enthusiasm. As the scene progressed, she took on more men, including Anthony Hardwood, Seth Dickens, Brad Baldwin, Trent Tesoro, and Sergio (like all the scenes, the men weren't identified but I'm familiar enough with them that these were the ones I could positively identify without assistance). It was a sloppy hummer and she then took the guys vaginally and anally as they verbally abused her. She did ATM and a DP with her mouth constantly getting a workout from whoever wasn't nailing her other two holes (making her routinely airtight). She participated in the action but the men did most of the work, weakening it for me and lowering the replay value. She took loads to her face and a couple of vaginal creampies, ending an okay scene.

Scene Two: Joey, another lean newcomer to porn wearing a pink outfit, followed the formula handily as she stripped in the same setting as Roxxxy did. Her first partner was the illustrated man also known as Harley. While his penis was nothing special, it did serve to warm her up and his rough treatment of her served to make some of the others look better by comparison as well. She was another moderately active lay though as the other men joined in, including Jenner, Steve French, Trent Tesoro, Jack Venice, and Chris Charming, she got increasingly willing to let them do all the work. She did not do anal or DP's but she was still pushed to her limit more than a little bit with the men dumping loads to her face at the end as she tried to catch her breath.

Scene Three: Lorena Sanchez, the hotty on the front DVD cover, was up last and claimed to be 19 years old as she followed the formula. While an attractive lady, I didn't buy the age given for a minute though I'd have done her in a heartbeat and she did possess some of her babyfat. Anthony Hardwood was up first as he hammered away on her pussy from a doggy styled position, looking like he was trying to tear her in two in the process. They were joined by hairy Sascha, Horst, Trent Tesoro, and Jack Venice as the men worked over her mouth and pussy heatedly. The defining circus act of the show was a DPP (double pussy penetration) and she did take some vaginal creampies on top of the facials to her mouth. Like the other gals, the chemistry was tossed in favor of the gangbang element but they all showed enough potential that I'd like to see more of them under less abusive circumstances.

Summary: Grand Slam was not the highlight of director Mike Metropolis's porn resume but it wasn't a bad start for him at the company. The technical values showed improvement from his previous homes and the casting wasn't bad either. The extras added value and while I thought the movie was only worth a rating of Rent It, I know that many of you will consider this to be a solid flick worth your dough. I just didn't think it had enough replay value for that and rated it accordingly. In short, Grand Slam was more like a Double or a base hit but give it a look if you like the cast and want to see them put through some mighty powerful paces.
