Audio/Video Quality: Ass For Days was shot in the usual 1.33:1 ratio full frame color as handled by director Ricky D. for Diabolic Digital. The lighting was fairly flat and the flesh tones seemed accurate, so the grain and other visual elements were generally about what I expected out of the movie but the frame rate or something made it look almost like a web broadcast to me. The composition of the camera angles focused largely on the ladies (good call) and enhanced their looks in most cases, though better editing might have added the polish to make it even better (those who think porn is strictly about pointing a camera and shooting a scene straight through are wrong in their assumption). The audio was presented in the same 2.0 Dolby Digital as Diabolic Digital seems content with, offering no true separation or significant dynamic range but thankfully offering the choice to turn off the lame music track too. I wish other companies would make that a standard choice but the vocals were decidedly on the low side most of the time and not used to full effect. It was a decent package though and I'm glad to see that the director provided a better effort this time on the technical values but the DVD mastering really needed to address the grain and near VCD quality of the picture.

Body of Review: Ricky D. has reportedly been around the porn industry for awhile and now that a company such as Diabolic is giving him the chance to direct, the results have proven that he may become someone worth seeking out. His latest flick is Ass For Days, a set of anal scenes with some of the most talented ladies in porn that employs a lot of tease before the hardcore nasty acts begin. I'll admit that some of the technical matters on his last movie, Incumming 10, lowered the heat for me but the casting alone was sharp enough to merit a nod and the manner in which the fledgling director stayed out of their way to let them put on some very skillful scenes made it one I kept for my collection. In any case, his new movie drew from some of the best anal queens in the business, with no clear highlight but lots of fantastic stroke material and replay value.
