Extras: The best extra for me was a masturbation scene by Sophia Rossi recorded on 7/25/2005 that had her diddling herself for about 13.5 minutes. If you enjoyed her in the movie, you'll certainly appreciate her solo act as she has a wonderfully appealing pussy unlike most others in porn. I also enjoyed the audio commentary that featured Sophia Rossi and Laurent (he never introduced himself or, if he did, I missed it). Sophia was watching the movie for the first time and appeared to be getting off to most of it, making anecdotal comments along the way. The 10.5 minute long Behind the Scenes feature was pretty decent too with some extra sex footage as well as photogallery and preparation material added in to enhance the value. There was also a photogallery, some website links, and trailers to shows like McKenzie Made, Jenna Loves Pain, Bella Loves Jenna, Steal Runway, Krystal Method, and others that have yet to be released or that I haven't seen.

Audio/Video Quality: Sophia Syndrome was presented in a non-anamorphic widescreen with an aspect ratio of about 1.85:1 for most scenes and the usual 1.33:1 ratio full frame for two others. The picture looked cropped to that ratio rather than originally shot by director Laurent Sky/Richard Hamilton in, it but I applaud the artistic attempt nonetheless. I hope future efforts apply anamorphic widescreen HD to them but I know that the industry is in transition at this writing so we'll have to see what happens. The colors looked accurate, the lighting was a mixture of various techniques that sometimes worked better than others, the level of grain typically minimal, and the composition of the shots better than I recall Nikita's Extreme Idols having in terms of making the performers look better. There were no compression artifacts, no video noise, and while I would've liked more of a straightforward approach to the scenes, the movie wasn't bad looking at all. The only effect that I really didn't like was the great overuse of slow motion; something many of his peers favor too strongly too. The 5.1 Dolby Digital stereo English audio track was kind of basic but the vocals instilled a sense of heat in several of the scenes and the music didn't get in the way of the action. There wasn't a lot of separation between the channels and the dynamic range lacked a bit but I didn't get the sense that the audio was blown off here at all. As an added bonus, there were several choices for the audio track; one with louder dialogue and another with louder vocals, an addition that truly enhanced the movie for me (and I hope some of the other studios try this approach in the future because it's greatly needed to stop the music happy nut directors).

Body of Review: Jenna Jameson is more than a just a porn star; she's a legend! Unlike the hype you've heard about her, she has long put a popular face on porn, working numerous mainstream projects and media that brought a lot of people into checking out the industry on positive terms. While she's not known for circus act sex, making scores of movies every week, or catering to the fringe elements, she has long been known far and wide as the de facto gal that people think of when the term "porn star" is brought up. Her most recent project brought to small screen is Sophia Syndrome;a showcase to the debut of Sophia Rossi, a curvy hotty contract gal that really appeals to me (not just because she was the friendliest gal of their team to me during the 2006 AEE Show either, although that didn't hurt her appeal to me one bit). Shot by director Laurent Sky, the effects laden movie started with both ladies in a sweet lesbian pairing and ended with Sophia doing Jean Val Jean; both firsts for the lady as she had yet to make a movie when hired for the company. The cover put it like this: "Sophia is so alluring in front of the camera; you can't help but feel her energy as you give into her naughty fantasies. Sophia's debut girl-girl scene with Jenna is simply out of this world! Jenna demonstrates how they "do it" at Club Jenna. The heat continues as Jean Val Jean takes control of Sophia in her first and very extravagant boy-girl scene. Then witness Eva and Sascha turn up the heat and blast off to the stars in there own funky sex fantasy. Not to be outdone are Tommy Gunn and Barbara in a raunchy golf cart ride. See for yourself to what length the girls of Club Jenna are willing to go, in this intense, mind-blowing sex odyssey!" That said, here's a look at the scenes by cast and action, noting that condoms were used in the scenes but they didn't matter:

Scene One: Jenna Jameson, sporting a brunette look as on the front DVD cover, was up first with light haired hotty Sophia Rossi; also on the cover. The scene was shot in a stylish fashion with bubbles floating all about and a light soundtrack playing. The ladies looked very attractive to me even though I've never been a fan of implants in porn performers. Aside from the commentary track telling me how much chemistry Sophia and Laurent thought the ladies displayed, I thought they were really hot together. Jenna is no stranger to eating pussy and other than when she recognized the camera a little too readily; she came across as really wanting to dive into that muff. For her part, Sophia also got into it, even more as a receiver of tongue or when Jenna was fingering her ass on the fancy bed. Their vocals were top notch and while I know that porn is full of fanciful effects to enhance the believability of the heat; it occurred to me that the scene was real in terms of them having fun in a heated fashion. Fans of toys may hate the scene but it was highly strokable and replayable to me.

Scene Two: Barbara Summers, another hot blonde with a great body, was up next with studly Tommy Gunn in a golfing themed set with Cassie Courtland in the background. Barbara's bikini was great and Tommy was as ripped looking as I've ever scene him with her oral skills proving what a great cocksucker she is. It was well done and pleasant to watch, with moderate replay value and strokability.

Scene Three: Brittney Skye, another gal with light hair and enhanced curves, was up next in a large bank vault setting with Talon. She played to the camera nicely and while the rapid editing was a bit much, she continued the revolving platform angle nicely and was soon showing herself off in her first male/female scene on camera. It was interesting to note that his cock didn't look too long compared to her curvy figure (most gals in porn are so small that even a tiny cock looks large onscreen) but she described it as a wonderful blowjob that she enjoyed giving very much. The chemistry between them showed and that gave it great replay value too but the penetrative sex is the defining point of a new performer so how did she do in that you ask? I would have liked the movie to be longer but the addition of some sweet extras and the performing skill of some very talented ladies sure made Sophia's debut a treat to enjoy repeatedly. I thought it was worth a rating of Recommended or better for the Jenna/Sophia scene alone but the supporting scenes all added some heat too and this was a keeper. In short, Sophia Syndrome was the kind of porn I have long expected from Laurent Sky and Club Jenna, making me wonder why they held out on their best stuff for so long. Good work!
