Extra's: Given the length of the movie's scenes, the additional extras weren't as important to the value of the show. There were only a handful of trailers, a slide show, and some spam as a result.

Audio/Video Quality: Centerfolds was presented in the same aspect ratios the scenes were originally shot in by director Richard Hamilton for Hustler Video with a few in a non-anamorphic widescreen with an aspect ratio of about 1.85:1 and the rest in the usual 1.33:1 ratio full frame color. The widescreen scenes looked cropped to that ratio rather than originally shot in it but I applaud the artistic attempt nonetheless. The colors looked accurate, the lighting was a variety of various techniques that sometimes worked better than others, the level of grain typically minimal, and the composition of the shots better than I remember them originally having when I saw many of these scenes originally (I checked though and they were the same). There were no compression artifacts, no video noise, and while I would've liked more of a straightforward approach to the scenes, the movie wasn't bad looking at all. The stereo English audio track was kind of basic (again) but the vocals instilled a sense of heat in several of the scenes when allowed to but the music that started out almost all the scenes was obnoxiously loud and droning. There wasn't a lot of separation between the channels and the dynamic range lacked a bit but I didn't get the sense that the audio was blown off here at all.

Body of Review: Hustler Video may not be the first name you go to for great porn but I've read the magazine since the late 1970's (granted, I looked at the pictures more than I looked at the words but I remember ordering some back issues well before I came of age and for the risks involved, I was going to make the most of every bit of the magazine) and have always had a certain respect for the company as a leader in the industry for establishing our rights to enjoy adult material. A lot of people seem to forget that these days but the bottom line is that without Hustler, there might not have ever been a porn industry in this country. In any case, the company has gone through a lot of changes over the last few years but still managed to release some winners, along with a growing number of compilations using their better scenes. Today's review of Centerfolds, is a collection of scenes shot by Richard Hamilton from his Centerfold and Taboo lines, taking some of the best the series had to offer in order to provide the consumer with nearly three hours of cheap entertainment for your personal pleasure. If this sounds good to you, here's a brief look at the scenes by cast and action, noting that no condoms were used:

Scene One: Monica Sweetheart, the hotty on the lower left hand corner of the front DVD cover, was up first as she teased the camera in her pink & black outfit; pouting as though in need of a large cock. She got her wish with Anthony Hardwood, and the scenario had her ready to shave him to a droning beat. The modernistic setting of the styling salon was interesting and thankfully the music stopped getting in the way as they fucked and sucked each other off. Both were covered in sweat by the end of the scene and while he did most of the work during the vaginal penetrative sex, she was no slouch in the oral and had the looks to overcome the lack of action on her part.

Scene Two: Taboo 2: Teagan Presley, "starring as a modern day Bionic Woman, complete with bionic ass, lips and breasts, was the star of the show here in a scene filmed before she got implants and signed for Digital Playground. Her partner was evil spy (and buff guy) Tommy Gunn with the two of them getting right down to business as she inhaled his penis soundly. They then proceeded to screw vaginally in several positions with her looking great. It wasn't her most energetic performance to date and the chemistry between them was only decent (not great) but I enjoyed it a whole lot as it had plenty of replay value. It didn't surprise me that she was given the front DVD cover considering how tasty she looked."

Scene Three: Lanny Barby, the hotty featured on the middle of the front DVD cover, was up next as she teased the camera with her body and beauty in an auto mechanic shop where grease monkey flunkies Talon and Andrea Moranti, got to sample all she had to offer. I'm a big fan of Lanny so if the scene had blown goats, I'd let you know but she actually worked them over in her usual gonzo, heated style; sucking their cocks and fucking the life out of them after that. Her little outfit looked awesome on her lean frame and the perfect lighting enhanced her looks a lot, even if the droning music was a pain in the ass. She did anal with ease and the DP appeared to give her few problems worth noting, making this a very solid scene for replay and stroke value.

Scene Four: Lexie Marie and Carly Parker, a couple of very appealing cuties, were up next on a blue motorcycle on a set designed to look like a street. The action was more basic than the other scenes as the two ate each other out, used fingers, and some toys along with their vocal comments after stripping off their pink plaid skirts. It was more mechanical than the other scenes too but I had some fun with it, however limited.

Scene Five: Patricia Petite, a tomboyish type of gal wearing pink hotpants and a bandana in the large white walled room (with her name and other words in block letters on the walls), pranced around for the camera before she started sucking off Jean Val Jean. The modernistic futon she knelt on gave her enough elevation to attack his meat readily but it was her active riding skills that worked the best for me. I prefer more meat on their bones but she managed to show him a good time and I can't fault her skills. There was plenty of anal and he blasted out a large facial to close it out.

Scene Six: Britney Skye, the blonde on the upper left hand corner of the front DVD cover, was up next as she masturbated to the droning music in her small outfit that did little to conceal her figure. After the tease, she took care of Mick Blue by blowing him, riding his cock vaginally like she was on fire, and even anally (though he did most of the work in that stuff). I think it would have worked better if she tried to connect with him on a deeper level but I can't deny that she was looking good here.

Scene Seven: Rita Faltoyano, the hotty displayed on the upper right hand corner of the front DVD cover, was up next as she gyrated her hips during the tease in her flashy pink outfit. I'm not sure I understand why her moles were airbrushed off of the front cover picture since fans tend to rely on them for recognition at a glance but the good news is that she was as fine as ever when it came to the sexual depravity shown. Her partners were reliable Randy Spears and her real life partner Tommy Gunn; both capable of showing her a good time as they hammered away at her holes until she seemed to get off. They eventually let loose a couple of big wads onto her at the end of the scene as well; coating her face after they gave her a firm DP boning. Whew!

Scene Eight: Taboo 3: "Shy Love, dressed in a flimsy pink outfit, had the next scene with wimpy Trent Tesoro, with him dressed like a baby in a large crib. I wondered if he was paid more to look like such a goofus but this is actually a well known, if weird, fantasy so I won't pick on him too much (he suffered enough looking like a fool here). In any case, she stripped, blew him handily using her skilled tongue and hand, and let him fuck her in the pussy and ass while they were on the floor. In all, the scene was pretty good but it could've been better if she had toned down the yelling a tad (and through herself into the action more)."

Summary: Centerfolds is part of the newly established Larry Flynt's Private Collection series and as such, it appears that some extra care went into making it. The quantity of fuck for the buck, the quality of the ladies, and the production values, were all sufficient to rate it as Recommended or better, depending on your tastes and how many of the scenes you already have. I would have preferred that the scenes be marked with which titles they came from and that the DVD packaging more openly admit it was a compilation in the first place but I have to admit that Centerfolds was a nice beginning to a series that has a lot to draw from if the right person is put in charge of it.
