Audio/Video Quality: Tim Von Swine's Pork BBQ was presented in the same 1.33:1 ratio full frame color it was shot in by director Tim Von Swine for release by Shane's World. But for the logo on the box cover, I'd have never guessed it was a Shane's World production since the style was unlike what they've provided previously, and Zane on the second camera was marginally worse than Tim's work so the mileage varied more than a little bit in terms of the raw footage presented. The lighting was generally decent, limiting the grain and video noise but the composition of the shots wasn't always favorable to the cast and the editing was definitely a mixed bag. In all though, the flesh tones were accurate and the marginal nature of the technical matters wasn't enough to dissuade me from telling fans of the cast to pass this one up. The audio was presented in 2.0 Dolby Digital stereo English with a bit of a mixture of quality too. There was a wrecking crew working next door during some of the early footage and the background noises were in the way at other times too, including Tim telling them what to do just loud enough to hear in a few cases and bold as could be in others.

Body of Review: Tim Von Swine is one of the hottest directors in porn to hear some of the gonzo company owners describe him yet his bumpy ride to success has not been without it's share of missteps too. One example would be the attempt by the man to join the Shane's World roster as they broke free from their previous distribution contract with New Sensations. The hiring of Devinn Lane and Tim, both from completely different realms in porn (he being a gonzo man unable to secure a favorable deal at RLD/PXP and her from the sheltered confines of Wicked Pictures before she was let go), was something of an industry surprise since the company had relied on uncredited help for most of their titles (Penny Flame being the only good example of a classic fit). His first release for the company was Tim Von Swine's Pork BBQ, an homage to the informal backyard parties most of us enjoy each summer with the cooking of meat, hanging out, and playfulness accompanying the sex scenes needed to make the movie work as a stroking device. In terms of generating the kind of scenes that made Shane's World famous, the movie was something of a disaster but Tim has long broken from the pack to offer up his vision regardless of the circumstances. That said, here's a quick look at the scenes by cast and action, noting that no condoms were used and no civilians engaged in sex during the movie:

Scene One: Savannah Stern, Chelsie Rae, Emily Evermore, Sascha, Marcos Leon, Tone Capone, Brad Baldwin, Mark Furious, Mike Hash, and Mark Shy/Zane, were up first as they had a virtual blowbang outside after the food was half eaten. The civilians gawked with that longing look like they'd have given a left nut to be able to get some of the oral performed on them but as far as who gave the best head; I'd have to say it was a toss up as one went for quantity while the others went for showcasing some quality head. I was thankful that the construction crew that started off the background noise must've been on a union sponsored break as they were really loud when tearing up the next door empty lot. Still, the shaded corner of the patio was a decent place to have a contest between the ladies and the two cameras captured a lot of the action very nicely. The scene ended with a lot of facials though the ladies did not swallow or lick the spew up but it was fun.

Scene Two: Joey Valentine, a leggy gal with some nice curves, Emily Evermore, and Sascha, started getting worked up on the lawnchair so they took the show on the road inside to the light blue couch. The lesbian action was pretty hot and it progressed nicely into the blowjob stuff but the gals seemed to be too mechanical in how they approached the action in my opinion. One of the trademarks of the Shane's World movie is the way the cast is supposed to at least appear to be having some spontaneous sex and that was in decidedly small supply during this scene (and several of the others). If I wanted generic gonzo porn, Tim's done a lot of that far better elsewhere so the fake moaning and camera watching left me hanging here. It was an energetic ride but the lack of spark dampened the moment for me more than a little bit with the scene ending with Sascha rubbing out a small load to their faces.

Scene Three: Georgia Peach, Tone Capone, and some of the others were up next as part of a blow job spree that took place as a result of a strip Frisbee contest (where the guys cheated). It led to the cast going inside on the couch and Marcos boning Georgia while Savannah shows she isn't afraid of black cock by actively riding on dark meat. Some of the civilians looked embarrassed here as they sat at the kitchen table eating and nonchalantly talking away but it was decent and led to Chelsie Rae, Steve Taylor, and Mark Shy/Zane, going off on their own upstairs. That aspect of the scene included a DP and some taste testing but she was unable to reach Georgia's anal skills by a long shot. I'm not too keen on the mixing of scenes, either by editing or by simultaneous scenes, so this weakened the action for me too but it was kind of interesting too.

Scene Four: Nakia, one of the few gals not on the front DVD cover, was up next outside on the lawn chair as Tee Reel porked her but she really seemed more interested in taking on Tone Capone, Mark Furious, and Brad Baldwin, upstairs inside the house as the onlookers starred. She was yelling too much for my tastes, acting way over the top as they shoved their cocks down her throat and in her pussy but aside from acting like they were hurting her, it was the weakest scene of the bunch.

Scene Five: Allie Ray, the hotty featured on the lower right hand corner of the front DVD cover, was up next on the following day with Kyle Stone and Sean Michaels. They engaged in some small talk before going inside for the men to play with her on the couch. She gave some decent head without resorting to going over the top or screaming like she was on fire before she started riding them one by one. Her style was to impale herself on cock as she rubbed her clit and sucked a dick, performing more than getting into the sex but while it may not have been the type of scene I'd expect from Shane's World, it was a pretty decent scene to enjoy nonetheless. It ended with them blowing their loads onto her face and while she has done better previously, there was more genuine energy here than in most of the other scenes of the flick.

Bonus Scene: Georgia Peach, the chunky blonde gal on the lower middle front DVD cover with the hotdog between her breasts, was up first as she blew Mike Hash in front of Tone Capone in the bedroom. She was nasty and gave it up really well, even blowing another white guy that wasn't identified. The "donkey loads" spewed forth went on some potato chips that she then ate, making a cute extra.

Summary: Tim Von Swine's Pork BBQ was something of a compromise between director Tim Von Swine and the usual style of movie provided by Shane's World. That doesn't make it a bad flick but it never reached the levels of intensity his gonzo work is known for and it never seemed to be as raw and spontaneous as the movies the company is known for. I can appreciate the setting and use of reviewers as civilian props in a porno but they never really added anything to the scenes (maybe if they had, in true Shane's World fashion, been given handjobs or something onscreen, it could've been different); serving only to distract an already margin set of scenes. I still thought the DVD had enough fuck for the buck, extras, and fun to provide consumers with a Rent It experience but this was one of the weaker efforts I've seen by the director to date (and the same holds true for the company considering the kind of branded sex they provide). In short, Tim Von Swine's Pork BBQ was like day old potato salad and undercooked meat; a risky venture for most consumers when so many fresher titles by the company (as well as director at other studios) exist for your stroke value.
